We found the vast majority of staff exceptionally helpful and willing to go the extra mile, helpful whilst unobtrusive, which meets my preferences. Advice was offered, along with beach towels and bottled water for the days activities. The complimentary evening wine and nibbles were a real hit and bedtime milk and freshly baked cookies were a unique and unexpected treat. Rooms clean and spacious, free bottled water was restocked in the in room bar fridge daily. An excellent coffee machine, variety of tea bags, fresh lemonade and water were available in a central area. Generally I found the operation to be of a high standard and better than most.

The roof top area could do with a bit of a spruce up, quite usable, but a little tired. Breakfast was (to us at least) of limited choice and when compared with the high standard of the other excellent offerings. However, it is included in the room rate and can be delivered to your room at no extra charge.

Wonderful location adjacent to the harbor, walking distance to shopping, restaurants and City Market. The amenities included with the stay are amazing, from the hot breakfast served at the the location of your preference to the evening wine and cheese hour. The most exceptional quality of our experience was the staff - all extremely welcoming, friendly and ready to assist with any needs. We especially want to recognize Kierra, who made the evening wine reception so fun by chatting with us.

Directly across the street from the Inn a large building is being built, which partially obstructs what I imagine would have previously been a spectacular view of the harbor. However, we nonetheless had a view of the harbor from our room which was special.

The location was perfect. Easy walk everywhere. The room and bathroom was very large. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Not your ordinary free breakfast. Fresh orange juice, mini quiche, wonderful blueberry muffin and much more. And the best part you could have it in your room or upstairs on the terrace or in the dining room area. the staff was very friendly and helpful too.

The elevator was very slow. We were on the second floor so no issues to take the stairs but if we would have been on the fourth floor that would have been annoying.

The HVI is located within walking distance of everything downtown. They serve breakfast daily and you have different options to choose from. The wine and cheese happy hour is a perfect start to your evening just before dinner. The staff was very pleasant and went above and beyond. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with champagne in our room upon arrival. I will definitely stay again when I visit Charleston

Our room was very close to elevator and was a little noisy.

Loved the room right off the lounge area. Coffee, water and ice tea were always ready when I wanted right outside my door. Great location on the harbor. We loved the wine and snacks at 5pm! It was so hot in Charleston so we would return to the hotel to rest a bit and have a glass of wine before heading out for the evening again.

Would have liked actual balconies rather than Juliet. There are some but were not available when we booked.

What an amazing week end ! I don’t know where to start . First of all THE TEAM everybody front desk,Doorman,cleaning team … they were all nice , smiley and make sure my mum my girlfriend and I have a nice stay . The room are huge,clean with everything you need. You have a delicious breakfast include and you can choose to enjoy it on the lobby by the fire place , in your room or the rooftop! The view of the rooftop is just amazing. And the General Manager himself came to us to make sure everything was pleasant during our stay Honestly i recommend this place 200%. Thank you again!!

Very modern and comfortable room. Good location in the historic district and near the harbour. Complimentary cheese and wine every day and tea and coffee and soft drinks available all day. Beautiful roof terrace.

Breakfast on the whole very good but an alternative to quiche or savoury croissant would have been nice. We would have preferred the hotel to have a restaurant where breakfast is served each day rather than having to choose what we would like to eat the night before.

Everything from the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for you. The hotel is clean, great location and all the special touches they do.. coffee and tea along with water, lemonade, ice tea all day long. Have candy and afternoon wine and cheese. At 9pm cookies and milk. The breakfast is served wherever you would like. It’s amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I would definitely stay again.

Cozy! rooms were nice and clean! centrally located to downtown! Not to mention the fun little amenities, breakfast, wine/cheese, cookie time and of course candy station in lobby! Really a gem of a hotel!

Reallt loved everything! we did pop up to the rooftop just to see, weather was not great, but this area could use a little cleaning up, but again just went to peek so didn’t really effect our trip!

Everything! We were so pleased with the staff, our room, and the amenities! Lets start with the location, it was perfect to walk to restaurants, parks, nightlife! Our room was absolutely lovely and the happy hour with wine and hors d’oeuvres was such a treat, but not better than the warm cookies and milk served before bedtime! Breakfast was so delicious and filling that most days we couldn’t have lunch, such a good value. And the staff was gracious. inviting and attentive. We would definitely go there and only there when visiting Charleston again!!
