Athena Inn Chattanooga

I totally enjoy my stay at Athena Inn everytime I visit Chattanooga. The location is perfect, the price is competitive and just right for my budget and the staff are always nice. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great, especially the shower with multiple water sources. My only complaints is the rooms could be more sound proofed and the house keeping staff could be quieter in the mornings when preparing to clean.

The noise of the house keeping staff and the noise of the peopler in the adjoining room next to mine. Other than that my stay was perfect. The door between adjoing rooms needs more sound proofing and seals around the door, I could smell the persons cologne in my room.

Just off the highway, nice fascia, standard check in, room and amenities were far beyond what I expected. All great, they skipped the art work, and instead spent money on the bed, furnishings, and amenities. The ADA shower was unecessary but very nice, my gal and I made often use of it and it's special features. Staff provided extra towels and pillows for my lady and I with an ez-pz request. Great stay.

toilet holder in wall was too damn intrusive to one's sitting comfort while on the seat. Needs to be relocated 6-8" further out of the sitting position.

Shower amazing, beds super comfortable, affordable, and right off highway. Near a few fastfood places and within 15 to 20 of different restaurants. Liquior store across street, next to convient store. Parking lot well lite. Quiet. Was there only one night, but would stay again if passing thru.

Parking lot in front of room on our side was tight and a pain to maneuver in with a packed a** car. (Unsure about rest, but motel in a small lot.) Looks kinda sketchy and questionable on the outside in its location once you get there and with the safety front desk check in. We had gear on top of our car, all still there when we woke next morning.

The area where the motel is located isn’t as “terrible” or “sketchy” as other reviewers have stated. I mean, we did see a couple of homeless people nearby but nobody bothered us or the car the entire weekend. Starting with the outside of the motel…it could stand a good pressure washing and tidying up but it wasn’t bad. The parking lot was plenty big for the amount of renters it could hold. No pretty scenery as it is sitting in a very busy area. Inside the lobby where you check in is small because they have the inner doors locked. You have to ring a doorbell and someone will come. You communicate through a glass but the lady I dealt with was super nice. Heqds up: if you pay by debit card (and cash too I think) you WILL be charged an extra $100 deposit! She told me that when I went back to check out the next morning, they will go inspect the room and if it was left in good condition I’d get my money back. I had read that in the confirmation email so luckily I was prepared to pay the extra. We got to our room on the top/2nd floor and the outside looked pretty rough. The window was all scratched up and dirty so we thought “great, we’ve messed up”. But we used the card to unlock the door and surprise!! the room was wonderful!! The air conditioner was already on and it was very cool in the room, and even though I booked a king size bed we got put in a room with 2 queens. No big deal, we just didn’t use the other bed and the room was larger because of the extra! The floor was hardwood and clean, the tv was large and mounted on the wall, it had a small refrigerator (which worked so good our Coke cans were icy), and the bathroom was tiny. Clean but tiny. The shower that other reviewers raved about….I totally get why it’s a big deal! It is AMAZING. I let it hit my back at full force and omg it felt like a deep massage. The water got hot instantly and it was just a great experience (weird to say about a shower but you’ll see when you get there!).

IF I had a complaint, it would be the noise from the busy roads right outside the motel. The weekend we stayed was unusually busy and there was high traffic everywhere, so it got pretty noisy during the night. But again, it wasn’t terrible.

Fantastic Waterfall massage shower. Clean comfortable beds. Nice boutique hotel.

Receptionist is curt, not friendly. Does her job literally and that only. Checks you in, with as few words as possible. No communication or variance from the script. “Do you have reservation? Need license/credit card—silence—-no eye contact—-sign this paper— here’s your key card, room ….” Stayed 3 times — all the same— but really like the hotel rooms/location so I’ve stayed again.

Room was very clean. Room had vinyl flooring which added to the room's cleanliness. Staff was friendly and helpful will questions about the area. Location is on the end of a dead end street off of a busy highway which provided a peaceful stay. Due to covid restrictions, they were unable to provide breakfast per their usual listing, but the motel was close to other eating options. The room had an awesome rain-fall shower. There is shopping close by for obtaining any forgotten items. Plenty of onsite parking

Hopefully when covid restricts are lifted, they will re-instate serving breakfast in their pleasant dining area.

it was comfortable- we traveled through from Florida heading home to Ohio. We wanted something close to Ruby Falls and this was a nice location for that. There is a gas station within walking distance. As others mentioned the shower was nice. There were several options to choose from body spouts, a wand, a waterfall type flow and a normal shower head.

The man at the desk during check in was not very personable and was kind of rude. Someone continuously knocked on our door throughout the evening and no one would be there when we would go to answer the door, it is kind of back off the road so it was a bit secluded and didn’t feel secure.

They need safety strips in the shower. It was very slippery and a fell and hit my head on the corner shelf.

The location was great, the price was more than fair, the beds were comfy and bedbug-free (I checked).

Everything was clean except the bathroom door was kinda dirty. It looked like there was smeared makeup on the back of it and it hadn't been cleaned

Our room was nice and big; beds very comfey; shower great!

Parking...not that there is a lot they can do about it. Breakfast was just cereal and muffins. When I checked in, I verified we had more family coming and wanted adjoining rooms or at least close together. Was told there would be 1 room between us. When the rest checked in, they were put on the back side of the building.
