Holiday Inn - Amarillo East, an IHG Hotel

The breakfast was awesome! You get to order off the menu!! We came in late and were directed to a restaurant walking distance away and got takeaway. My son needed to finish up some work, and was delighted by the modern, efficient workspace in the room. The lady at breakfast was lovely. She was so accommodating of our dietary restrictions. She was also very friendly and made it a point to go to each table and have a short conversation with all the guests.

Not much. The night receptionists could have been better. They messed up by not giving breakfast vouchers to people who had paid for breakfast and so there was confusion in the morning that the breakfast staff had to deal with.

Well designed newly built hotel. The atmosphere in the public rooms is excellent. Rooms are large and very well designed, with USB and power outlets everywhere. Excellent beds and bedding. Large well equipped bathroom. This is the one of the best hotel we have stayed in on our many cross country road Tripps. Highly recommended. Also very close to the Big Texan steakhouse, which is a fantastic experience if you're in Amarillo.

Nothing, everything was great

The bed was comfortable as were the pillows.

Price was too high, but I chose to pay it because of the location. More light is needed in the.bathroom, and the window needs to be able to be covered. The room above us was extremely noisy, they were either a family of elephants or they were practicing for a clogging competition.

The staff there was wonderful. The rooms were super clean and super nice. The breakfast in the morning was warm and inviting. A lot of choices there were at breakfast. The next time I come back here I will be definitely staying at this hotel. I traveled a lot this summer and this hotel was my far The best I stayed in. Ten stars!!

The water dispenser in the workout room did not work. But the premium Precor exercise machines were the best.

Decor was beautiful. Love the unusual optical illusion carpet in hall. Loved restaurant/bar. So nice to not have to leave hotel to get food. Personnel in restaurant were top notch.

The reception desk personnel could have been a little friendlier.

The property was nice and clean and it was on a gray location. The room was comfortable and a great size. I really enjoyed my stay.

The manager who checked me in was very rude. Might have been a bad day but the attitude received coming from a “manager” was ridiculous. The hotel had no back entrance, so you have ti walk all the way around the building to get inside.

I like this property particularly because the hotel has very plush beds. It’s also very clean. I also like very much the microwave in the room and the temperature control. I always stay at this hotel when going to Amarillo for those reasons.

For some reason, there was a lot of door slamming last night. Fortunately it stopped early and wasn’t present in the morning. Also, they are very careful about the shields for protection at the front desk and the sanitized pens, but one stills needs to use the credit card pen, which is not sterilized. I find that interesting.

The breakfast was very good and and service was excellent. Even though it was a order only due to Covid19 we were able to get what we wanted for a good breakfast.

I know its due to covid19, but I would prefer better room service as far as cleaning and restocking of towels ect. I was there a week and only had my room attended to one time. I travel a lot and prefer to have those issues taken care of for me, so I don't have to worry about it. I fully believe in a different time this would not have been an issue.

All the staff were very kind from the people at the front desk to the lady in the breakfast room and the people who cleaned the rooms. The young lady and gentleman were behind patient with our ongoing needs.

We liked everything!

Luggage carts; friendly staff, having info I needed on key card folio, easy parking, A/C worked super even though there was a heat wave. Loved the bar, took my drink to my room to relax!

Restaurant hours too short; I think the same about the free breakfast hours too. Not good signage on where to turn into the Hotel drive ways.
