Hotel Madison & Shenandoah Conference Ctr.

Clean room. Location was in university area and small historic downtown so could walk to dinner. Had restaurant on premises. Had safe parking and could plug in our hybrid for free charge. We went to the national park, so this was a good quality hotel after a day hiking. Some may decide to stay closer to the national park if they don't need the extra amenities. I would return to this hotel, even with the small issues since I know what to expect.

There were small things... I was told I would be charged $50 for incidentals (including parking) when checked in (which I didn't like), but then didn't show up on my credit card (which I liked). I was told this would be deleted from my cc if I didn't use. The breakfast at the restaurant was terrible and this cost $12 per person (not worth it). We had to pay for parking ($5 per day with in and out privileges)--should have been a way to show staying at hotel and can be credited (not terrible, but I was surprised by this... I will have to go back to see if booking mentioned parking charge). No microwave for such a pricey room. Coffee maker didn't work.

I love the spaciousness of the room. It is clean with beddings and towels that look, feel, and smells fresh! I also loved that the Manager took the efforts to allow me an extended check out when it was initially denied due to the hotel being overbooked. Friendly service is excellent as well! I also loved the lobby where it had a bar that serves good drinks and appetizers - a happy hour rate might be good to consider next time though. I loved that it had a live music show as well. This hotel provided good value for its cost.

The parking charged me double. It was at a discounted rate, but I got a charge on my room bill, plus another charge when we exited the parking.

Room was clean and comfortable. Nice view of downtown and the mountains in the distance.

Personally, I wasn't crazy about the style of the shower in the bathroom. Its clear door lacked privacy. Also because the door only covered 1/2 of the shower area, water sprayed out onto the bathroom floor. There were three of us in the room, and if one person was showering, the others needed to wait to brush their teeth or pack up things left in the restroom. But it wasn't a huge problem. It would not prevent me from returning. Also, the complimentary WiFi was really slow. If I were traveling for work, I'd definitely need to pay for the premium WiFi.

Spacious rooms quiet spotlessly clean, staff so helpful and friendly. Only 30 mins from Swift Gap Shennandoah National Park good gym and pool area. Lovely lounging area with a great bar and restaurant also a separate coffee shop if you don’t want a full breakfast which Incidentally was scrumptious on the veggie option. Crystal and Emily were so helpful at front desk. Loved it so much we stayed another night and they organise used a seamless room transfer for us so we didn’t have to wait until 4pm. Thanks for everything !!

Nothing not to dislike!!

This grand, surprisingly formal hotel was evocative of the sort of showplace hotel--run by Intourist, in the old Soviet Union--that you used to be steered to in Eastern Europe: slightly soulless, but also well put together and clean, albeit totally bereft of any local or regional character. In contrast to those Soviet bloc hostelries, however, this one didn't appear shoddy beneath the polished veneer. In fact, it was actually a pretty nice place, with quiet, attractive corridors and large sunlit rooms. Ours, modestly priced as a "deluxe king," turned out to be a suite with a kitchen and a separate large living room.

The exercise room lacked the sort of equipment that I prefer to use but was well-equipped and ample by hotel gym standards.

Family trip for JMU, our stay was pleasant and comfortable. All encounters with staff for the hotel and the dining area was very helpful and professional. Pool hours was a plus for my kids after spending the day on JMU campus in the heat! Comfortable beds and a clean room was everything I expected. It was also great that the garage was connected to the hotel, that helps with the occasional down pour of rain.

The location was great. The parking garage was close to the hotel. The staff was super helpful. I was trying to check in early but the room wasn’t available. The front desk offered to check my bag which was helpful.

That check in isn’t until 4pm. When you have to check out at 11am the next day.

This is our absolute favorite stopping point on our way to Raleigh, NC. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, immaculate and have everything right on sight which is so appreciated. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

Nothing. Only thought would be an additional comfortable chair in the room for reading, etc. Our rooms have always had plenty of space for it.

Staff is exceptional, friendly, helpful. Room was very clean. Nice location in Harrisonburg.

Door to the bathroom was weird. Sliding door would not stay open w/o something to prop it open. Shower was also weird, glass covered half the shower stall without a door or curtain some water got on the bathroom floor.

convenient to park and enjoyed having an EV charging Station on site. restaurant on sit is a must for us. Would have liked the coffee shop area to be open earlier in the morning.

I did not like that the sofa bed was not made up for us in advance, and there were towels for two people, but we had booked for four people.
