Historic building in the heart of downtown Port Townsend with a ton of charm in the furnishings and decor. Our room also had a little kitchenette and a nice sitting area. The front desk manager also said the hotel could be haunted if we wanted it to be ☺️

The lack of an elevator and the parking situation. We were on the second floor in the midst of a two week trip so we had to make the conscious decision not to take out suitcases up just because of the sheer number of stairs. There is also a small parking lot in the back for residents but I would imagine in peak situations it would be difficult to find a spot

The fixtures and furnishings were excellent examples of the Victorian age. Our room was worth the money. The quality of the linen and towels was very good. The kitchen area with microwave and refrigerator was excellent. Staff was very helpful.

The bed was hard and not comfortable. The shower head was not adjustable. Ice had to be brought from downstairs up 2 flights of stairs. Parking outside on the street is not advisable since the maple trees produced sap all over our vehicle and made a sticky mess. Hauling our suitcases up the stairs was very difficult. There is no phone in the room and only Direct TV channels were available (no streaming services).

Great location! Right on the Main Street in Port Townsend within walking distance to everything! Great reception staff and very helpful. Our room was one of the older Victorian style rooms and it was charming! Loved the decor! Bathroom was updated to have a shower head added to the claw tub. Bed was very comfortable and WiFi worked well. Loved the Victorian theme throughout the hotel. Parking in back for guests—very convenient.

The rooms do not have air conditioning but our room had a nice big fan blowing already when we checked in. We happened to be there when the temperature was uncharacteristically in the 80’s so the room was a bit warm at night, but we put the fan on a chair so it blowed directly on our bed and that helped a lot. The website unapologetically says there is no A/C and honestly here in the NW, there are not many days you need it anyway. It certainly did not deter us from booking and we loved our experience in Miss Laney’s room!

It was a really fun place. It was old-fashioned, but the location was perfect. We had a whale-watch tour booked and we were able to walk to it, and there was a very nice restaurant just around the corner. Since all the rooms had women's names (we stayed in the "Miss Colleen"), I told my husband I wondered it might have once have been a brothel, and apparently it was. We're pretty economical, but the location made it worth the price, and it was fun. If you're looking for an edgy, modern boutique hotel, this is not for you. As a bonus, they stored our luggage for us after checkout so we could enjoy the day in the lovely little town with a boat trip and a little time in the shops.

This isn't a "don't like" so much as a "be aware of" (and this is made pretty clear in the reviews and on the website: you need to be able to schlep your luggage up stairs, and as the ceilings are high, there are a lot of them.

Stayed in 7B: Squeaky clean bathroom (loved the walk-in shower), comfy mattresses! Victorian character, and just what we needed for the weekend. (Very quiet as it is on the back of the building). As always, friendly, very helpful desk staff, and we love "game parlor" with chessboard and nice cozy ambience. . . On-site parking, and close to everything: Rose Theatre, Silverwater Café, FAB wine shop next door and the great variety of wonderful shops on Water Street! Our "Home Away from Home" whenever we are in Port Townsend!

If you are going during any of Port Townsend's "events" (like the Victorian Heritage Festival in April!) You would do best to book at least 2-3 months in advance, and arrive earlier in the day to park, as the lot fills up. . . As with any place worth visiting!

I love that they were able to preserve the history without the “seediness” of some historic buildings. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our room was also very quiet except for the birds in the trees outside our window which is not always the case with such a central location! The staff gave us good recommendations for meals and everything was close by. Port Townsend is a great walking town.

For us it was perfect, but if you want a big screen TV, or if you are unable to climb stairs, you might need to consider another site.

Wonderful historic building with period decor. Loved the high ceilings & tall windows that opened for fresh air. Walking distance to restaurants & other great locally-owned shops. Staff were super-friendly. We enjoyed delicious local seafood for dinner, a short walk down the street, with a view of the harbor at sunset.

My allergies acted up during the stay, not something anyone could know or control. Took more sinus meds. Symptoms resolved after we departed. This would not deter me from staying there again.

Everything was wonderful! The staff were so unbelievably friendly, the place was decked out in holiday decorations which was joyful & festive, the room was wonderful. So much charm and care taken to make it quaint and cozy while also modern and fresh. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel. You will not be disappointed. My favorite spot was a chair they put on the landing from the loft in front of a floor to ceiling window. Such a simple and sweet detail and a truly peaceful moment.

There is no elevator. Their posting made that clear and it was honestly not a worry. We figured 3 floors would be easy peasy. 😳 Not so much when each floor has maybe 20+ foot ceilings? Those stairs gave us a wakeup call on our fitness levels. But #1: It's totally worth it. #2: There are several adorable nooks and seating areas to catch your breath all the way up and plenty of things to look at along the way.

We got excellent local dining recommendations when we checked in and the staff was very personable and friendly. The location was great - extremely walkable (Port Townsend is very small). Nice and quiet at night with the window open. The bed was very comfortable and the room was large with great character. Loved the clawfoot tub.

I could hear someone moving around in the room above ours starting around 6 am. It wasn't super loud but enough to keep me awake. Other than that everything was fantastic!

Perfect location. Really enjoyed Port Townsend. We felt like we were back in the 1880's. Very quaint experience. We stayed in the Miss Alice Room. I don't know what Miss Alice was doing in the room, but it was a unique visit to the past. We saw Twisters at the the old but very charming movie theater nearby. The very personable Hotel desk clerk gave us a great restaurant recommendation , the Fountain Cafe, and a terrific breakfast spot, Hudson Point Cafe, at the end of town.
