Staybridge Suites Eau Claire - Altoona, an IHG Hotel

I loved the beautiful room, very nice. Very clean and comfortable place. The breakfast was phenomenal and fresh. The woman cleaning the breakfast area was amazing.

The night time clerk wasn’t as friendly or didn’t seem too friendly. He never asked if we needed anything and when I asked for more items he hesitated to hand me even enough makeup remover wipes and things I needed. He didn’t seem like he wanted to even chat with us. Just could have been more friendly and accommodating.

We liked the location , cleanliness breakfast was nice and rooms were clean.

Staff , hmm one big issue we had was our manager stated in email the deadline for booking in our block with our group at discount price when I called twice the front desk person pretty much told me I was lieing on the date and would not honor discount block price and told me to go to a third party and then call back and ask to be assigned a room near the block I was with staying with. She didn't want me to forward the email I had showing our deadline , I was just wrong and had to deal with it. That is the best she could do for me since I didn't reserve my room within their guidelines for a room and not the email our manager sent out for our timeframe to book the room guidelines. Which ended up costing me $30.00 more.

long walk to our room, we were place at the backside of the property which was fine except my husband has difficulty walking great distances. we weren’t aware that we would have to walk so far. if we had known, we would have requested a room closer to the front of the property.

Great value for cost. Nice spacious room for two adults and three children. We also had a puppy (the purpose of our travel) and the front desk worker seven gave us treats for him. The kids loved the pool and the location was perfect.

The room was pretty cold when we got there but we just adjusted the thermostat. Understandable when it was single digit temps outside.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a courtyard view which was very nice. The breakfast teach morning was fresh and included your basic breakfast options. There is a very nice walking path very close to the the hotel that we enjoyed. There are also a couple of restaurants within walking distance.

I found the bed terribly uncomfortable 😢

Room was great. Outdoor seating area was nice. Quiet even when busy.

When we arrived, a front staff member was rude and short with us upon entry. Ultimately, it was a long walk from the front/main elevator to the furthest room away for a person with mobility issues. I wish that we had been told there was an accessible back door; helpfulness/communication was less than par.

Breakfast was great with a clean area. The rooms were clean and spacious. Convenient location to walk to your location. Soaps provided are Dove, which is a decent brand.

Only 1 elevator so it was always slow, but we were just on the second floor and took the stairs. I like when there are bags in the room to take your dirty clothes home it, but none are provided.

Check in, check out both fast easy and efficient. Friendly employees. They took time all the way from the staff at the front desk to the morning breakfast staff to talk with my autistic son. They made him feel special. Especially Rosalynn(d) and I believe Mandy. Guessing at their names though. I was allowed early check in if needed and late check out. Room was clean. Hotel looked clean. Pool and hot tub nice and big.

Loved the courtyard in the middle of the hotel - lots of people out there after the heat died down a little. Enjoyed the comfy chairs, fireplaces and a chance to talk outside. Was within walking distance of a little park and a riverfront walk - both very nice as well. Also near two ice cream shops which we walked to for a treat.

Easy access to the room from the parking area. Clean and comfortable. Everything was in good condition and the bed was very comfortable. It was wonderful to have a kitchenette to eat in for a change. Breakfast was fabulous. They had everything other hotels offer and more.
