The room we were assigned didn't have a working fridge. Management changed our room to the first floor which was appreciated. We were by the outdoor pool which was beautiful. We spent 3 days in the pool.

We arrived around 10:00 pm. The building was hard to find in the dark. The map of the resort is so small you can't read it. Readable maps would be nice. The vending machine closest to the building was broken. And we had to walk to another building to get ice using a map we couldn't read. But it all ended up good. The checking in was a little rough for us first timers. A recommend check in before dark. Other than the few things that went wrong at first, we had a great time.

The newly updated, impeccably clean rooms are "lake house" themed, and are absolutely gorgeous. Excellent bathroom too, with all the hot water you could want. The temperature control in the room was perfect. I didn't have a chance to do anything but sleep and watch some TV, but it met all expectations in style.

I was a little disappointed that the WIFI was an unsecure network. I suppose a password locked one wouldn't have actually been much more secure, but the network being wide open worried me. I also had a little trouble figuring out how to access the inside of the building I was assigned to--I think during daylight it would have been no problem. Extra firm bed--not my favorite.

Beautiful- we had 2 rooms, one booked w/ you, another thru Travelzoo. The resort was full and understaffed. Especially in housekeeping- waited many hours for rooms to become available. Lines of people in the same predicament- well after 5:00 they trickled out as “ available “. So the start was difficult- other room wasn’t handled properly from the start- so frustrating. But the resort was clean and offered a good meal at the upscale restaurant, mediocre at the other. I’d go back but the issue was in not having rooms available.

Everything was convenient. The room size was fine, we were on the first floor, and wasn't aware that our room had a sliding glass door, so we were able to roam out there as well. The property was very clean. Access to cafe latte was a hit for our son daily. It reminded of a golf lodge I would go to with my parents back in the day. You can tell they are updating and maintaining the property.

Maybe its me, wasn't aware that you had to tell them you wanted your room cleaned daily. Once done, no issue.

Third year to stay there because the kids like the resort and familiarity. We like the physical plant, long halls and walking around the resort. Enjoy the harbor and location with the beach nearby and having access to the complimentary beach passes. There was a wonderful employee in the dining room (male) who got me hot water when I stopped in before the dining room closed and asked for that. Very customer friendly!

The drain didn't work well at all in our tub - that was extremely annoying

Friendly, fast check-in and checkout. Good directions to get to unit after checkin. Comfortable beds, nice tv, microwave, coffee machine and refrigerator in room. Clean, access to outdoor seating. Interior access through hallways to lobby area. Beautiful landscaping and walking path near boat harbor. Spa and pool available but did not use.

On busy sold out holiday weekend parking near unit was difficult in evening after dinner. Building was not locked for only key access after dark. Not close to Lake Geneva if shopping or dining there. Phone in room was not labeled with resort phone number or extensions. ( Just pressed 0 to reach front desk.)

This place was beyond what we expected, our room was fantastic, the spa was amazing, the pool area at the spa was very pleasing. We have really no complaints about the facility at all! We plan on coming back in the summer for another little get away. We were completely blown away by how nice and comfortable at this resort, it was our first time at a resort and you guys did not disappoint!.

Only thing I'd ask is to make sure during breakfast/brunch, waiters and waitresses let people know exactly what they are serving at that time considering they both entwine. We were still expecting to eat breakfast before we left from our fabulous get away, but was bamboozled by a $70 brunch bill when we just wanted the breakfast buffet. Its really the only let down but even then was still lovely.

I had never been there before and it was very confusing trying to find our room. We asked someone in housekeeping and they didn’t understand us , eventually we found our room. Called for basic necessities…toilet paper and creamer and they never brought it. Our phone was not connected in the room it was actually sitting on the balcony outside our room unconnected. Having a shuttle to lake Geneva would be nice it cost $4/hour to park there!!

Our family enjoyed taking a break for a few days, to relax, not too far from Chicago, in the countryside, close to a beach and a small town with cafes, shops and restaurants. We chose The Abbey Resort because of its location and spa that you can access all day and its beautiful indoor pool. The pool is surrounded by large windows through which the sun comes through also giving an impression of bathing in the forest. There are 2 indoor restaurants with a nice choice of food which is great option during the winter. The Abbey has great outdoors for walks. or simply enjoying nature. It was a busy time of the year but it did not feel crowded. They are well organized.

It’s a lovely resort with comfortable rooms. The location is nice and away from the crowds in Lake Geneva. The spa is a good experience and it’s worth it to pay to use the spa’s pool. I love kids but it’s nice to have the peaceful experience of the spa pool with other adults.

It can be quite a bit of walking and potentially stairs depending on where your room is located. If there is a wedding going on, parking can be tricky to find too.
