The staff here was exceptional. From booking onwards, I had resrouces that made my trip easy and carefree. Before arrival, they reached out through Whatapps and were quick to respond and offer ways to ensure my trip was smooth. I took a risk with making this hotel my home base for my stay in Vietnam. Meaning I would check out, go do a 2-3 day tour in another more remote area then arrive back to this hotel. I chose it for its good location in the Old Quarter to get picked up from tours, room size and design, and included breakfast. The spa was a perk, though I packed my time so fully that I did not have enough down time to book a treatment. They arranged a day tour for me to Ninh Binh which was incredible, my airport transfers and they even helped me mail my postcards out after I bought stamps. The lobby was 24/7 and as a solo traveler I felt safe to stay in the hotel and arrive at odd hours after my tours. The lobby is quite big to so if I needed a quick rest from walking around or to charge my phone I was always welcome, chatting about what my plans were for the day or what was next on my travels. The offered breakfast had a good mix of food, lots of fresh fruit with rotating local cuisine to try. The room itself was spacious, the only real feedback I have for that is that the AC was a bit slow and I couldnt't exactly tell if it was on our not. I think I'm used to loud ones that push out air continuously. The street that the hotel was on was a little bit on the busier side, and while I did intentionally book a room with a window and view I was able to hear the street below. Great news is that is it NOT on a street with clubs, bars, late night restaurants but rather cafes that are open early and close at a reasonable hour - I was able to sleep well and undisturbed. Easy to catch a Grab here as well as get food delivered if needed, but honestly street food is such a short distance and abundant around this hotel.

We had a splendid stay at the hotel. The location is perfect, for exploring the old quarters of Hanoi - we didn't have to take any cabs and walked everywhere in the old town. Service is amazing - the staff helped us book an airport pickup and drop at very reasonable prices (same as grab) and also helped us book tickets for the puppet show. They also helped us by keeping our luggage with them while we went to Ha Long Bay for two nights. The breakfast on the terrace was amazing - the pho was specially good, and one of the best we had during our two weeks in Vietnam, and that's saying a lot!

It is a nice hotel, looking a bit better on pics than in reality of course. It's reasonably clean and cosy. Located in the old town, very conveniently.

The water pressure is not great, so is the sewage too. The breakfast is not that great given what food is available in Vietnam. There's construction going on during the day, somewhere behind the wall really. Also, although the windows are moderately soundproof, the walls are not, so random noises, like water running when someone showers elsewhere... may be troubling to some. All in all it's all good.

Splendid service rendered by the hotel’s staff: Kris Such a dedicated and thoughtful staff are rare gems in the hotel industry. He has helped us a lot in taking care of issues we had during our stay. We booked 3 nights stay but ended up staying only 2 nights as plans changed. Esplendor hotel upgraded our room and gave us room on 5th floor. I must say I booked the Junior suite twin room because of the balcony. It’s so pretty and instagrammable! The interior and furniture exudes a flair of bohemian and Victorian vibes. Their lobby, and restaurant where we have our buffet breakfast got the exact vibes. You can dress yourself like a little princess and take nice photos there. Just that for us, we didn’t have time to enjoy taking lots of photos in esplendor. We reach the hotel very late because of our trip back from sapa. But we were greeted by the smiling Kris and his bell boy colleague who helped us with our heavy luggages. I explained that my iPhone is dead and could not contact esplendor to inform our arrival time. And also wanted to cancel our Ninh Binh day tour the next day. We left a message the night before via hotel’s website. So firstly he provided the keys to our room and orientated the details from breakfast to reception to check out. The bell boy helped to move our luggage upstairs. While I look for my dead iPhone to pass to Kris. Then he asked if I mind telling him what happened to my iPhone. He offered to help me to bring to shops in Hanoi to troubleshoot and I can tell him later if I accept the repair costs. I said I like to look for a spare phone too. And he understood and took my friend’s phone no. to update. I was very grateful for his gestures as photos and contacts in the phone were the most important and I will need time to go around sourcing a shop to repair, plus the language barrier. He used his personal time for all these!

If I must mention, others commented about the reed diffuser used in your hotel. You might want to consider changing it as it’s not easily accepted to all but I’m okay with it 😂

We had the best time at Hanoi Esplendor! The staff are so friendly and generous with their time, especially Kris and Lena, who helped us book a day trip to Ninh Binh. Our room was very large and clean. We had a fantastic view of the Old Quarter from our private balcony. We would highly recommend Hanoi Esplendor and can’t wait to come back again.

We loved this hotel. Upon arriving via a taxi, staff immediately greeted us and helped us with our bags. We were provided a welcome tea, and then helped to our room. All of the staff were very kind and welcoming. The room itself was lovely, with plenty of storage space and it larger than expected. Despite being in the busy centre, the room was very quiet and we didn’t hear any noise from traffic etc. The hotel is situated in an ideal location, within walking distance to everything. We also enjoyed the breakfast too. Overall we’d definitely recommend this hotel and would return!

From arriving to leaving, the hotel staff could not have been any more helpful or do enough for you. The room was very spacious and exceptionally clean. The breakfast area was very nice, food plentiful with a good choice. The Esplendor is in an ideal situation within the old quarter of Hanoi, providing easy access to Ho Hoan Kiem Lake, the Red Bridge and temple, Train Street, the water puppet theatre and the Hanoi Hilton (the old prison), all within 5 to 15 minutes on foot. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Hanoi.

From the moment we walked through the door and were greeted by the friendliest staff this set the tone for our stay. Lena at the front desk could not have been more helpful looking after us and arranging our day tour to Ninh Binh. Our room was really nice and comfortable and clean and the breakfast each day was lovely. After our stay we went on a 2 night Ha Long Bay cruise and we were able to leave our large cases behind and collect them on our return to Hanoi. We both had a Vietnamese body massage at the hotel which was amazing.

The two best things about this hotel are: 1. THE STAFF! Lena and Kris were amazing, super friendly and helpful and gave great recommendations. 2. The double glazed windows in our room! Our room looked onto the street, and knowing how noisy Hanoi is, the sound insulation was so appreciated! The location is super central, walking distance to everywhere. We didn’t like the breakfast options that much so skipped that. Overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at this hotel.

The room had a strange smell, but I get we got used to it.

I liked the french provincial interiors. Good that it’s inside the old quarter area. It’s a boutique hotel, specifically liked the bed it’s very comfy. Bfast food is good though i did know that you could make request like scrambled egg or pho since it’s not on the buffet spread…

I arrived very late in the evening & i was hoping the could adjust my check out time like the ones i read here,,, but not for us. They charged us quite a hefty amount. Though i understood hotel rules. I was just hoping they could extend some leeway…. Check out time no one assisted us but at least we managed. Lena was gracious in our conversations prior to our arrival.
