Otherwise it's a good bargain. Also the staff gives you recommendations for some trips to take and will organise bus/train/taxi to wherever you want to go. The beds, shower, toilets etc. are all to Vietnamese standards and they have cleaning personal checking everything once a day. Mon/Wed/Fri is free beer between 7 and 8pm. A good chance to get to know other travellers.

The things I didn't like came from the other Backpackers there. Guys, if you realise a room is moist, just leave the ventilation on and if you took a shower and the floor is all wet take the 10secs to sort it out... I wasn't allowed to park my bike there. I think the reason was because I didn't rent it at their place but they told me it's for security reasons.

My recent stay at Hanoi Backpackers Hostel in the bustling Old Quarter of Hanoi was an absolute delight. This hostel exceeded all my expectations, offering a clean and comfortable environment, fantastic amenities, a welcoming atmosphere, and an outstanding level of service. The first thing that struck me was the hostel's cleanliness and neatness. The common areas and dormitories were impeccably maintained, which instantly put me at ease. The attention to detail in maintaining a tidy and hygienic space was commendable, and it added to the overall comfort of my stay. One of the standout features of this hostel is its friendly and helpful staff. From the moment I checked in, I felt welcomed and supported by a team that was always ready to assist with any questions or requests. They provided invaluable advice on local attractions, dining options, and transportation, and were exceptionally cooperative, ensuring that my stay was as enjoyable as possible. The hostel's weekday happy hours, offering complimentary beer, were a pleasant surprise. It's a wonderful opportunity to mingle with fellow travelers in the relaxed and social atmosphere of the common area. This added bonus made the hostel even more appealing and encouraged a sense of community among guests. A highlight of my stay was booking the Halong Bay tour through the hostel. The process was seamless, and the staff guided us through the available options, helping us choose the tour that best suited our preferences. What made it even more convenient was that the tour bus picked us up right at the hostel's entrance, eliminating the need for additional transportation arrangements. In summary, Hanoi Backpackers Hostel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi is a superb choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and well-maintained place to stay. The cleanliness, welcoming staff, happy hours, and the convenience of booking tours on-site make it an excellent option for both solo adventurers and groups.

Amazing location, just in the middle of the Old Quarter, where all the great restaurants are. Less than 10 minutes walking from the theater or the train street. Beds are comfy and lockers can fit big backpacks without problem. For just one more euro a day you get breakfast too, coffee or tea plus toasts and eggs (cooked the way you like). The staff is the nicest and will do whatever to make your stay in Hanoi unforgettable, in particular, Mai was ao attentive. :)

For me it wasn't a problem, but keep in mind this is quite a noisy area and there is music till 10-11.

I spent 3 nights in an 8-bed mixed dorm. The hostel is located just in the heart of Hanoi. The staff is super kind, helpful and fun. The beds are really comfortable and there is everything a solo backpacker like me is looking for. All areas are regularly cleaned multiple times over the day. It's not common to find such a clean hostel! Plus, breakfast is included as well as soap, toothbrush and toothpast. You can give them your laundry in the morning and for a very reasonable price you get back your clothes by early evening. In short: among the best (of quite many) hostels I've stayed at.

It's a nice little hostel that's only a five minute walk from the main part of Old Quarter, so it's quieter but also still in and amongst the Old Quarter. The Ha Giang Majestic Tours that runs out of this hostel are stellar. There's also a VPBank atm only about 100m from the hostel which is one of the banks that don't charge foreign transaction fees. I checked in by coincidence at the same time as a traveller I had met recently, but reception somehow thought we had a booking together and put us in a dorm with double beds. There was some confusion when we tried to clarify this due to the language barrier, but my friend and I didn't mind sharing a bed since we were only staying for one night. So yeah, that's how we found out that the couples dorms are a thing, which is neat if you're a couple and cozy if you're just friends I guess.

The bathrooms are a bit run down but they do the job, and the price is cheap enough that you wouldn't expect them to be newly renovated. However in Old Quarter, for a couple of dollars more, you might find a more maintained hostel. Also there is no elevator so there's the potential to walk four flights of stairs, but that's also standard for some old buildings in Old Quarter.

The beds were generous in size, more than normal single beds. The room was quiet and cleaned thoroughly. Breakfast was a bonus. But most of all I loved the staff. They are kind and warm and willing to help with any question or problem. They work very hard and are attentive to the needs of constant travelers coming and going. I had a very good time getting to know them and sharing a few laughs. A big thank you to Tea, Mai, Giang and especially Khanh who always greeted me with a cheeky smile. I would thoroughly recommend staying here for a long stay if you are in need a place that feels more than just a drop in accommodation.

Leaving. Other travelers' smelly sox.

The shower is hot, the breakfast was nice

I talked with the staff by bookings messenger and made sure the know I will come at 01:00 am. When me and my boyfriend arrived we discovered that the hotel gave our room to someone else and they wanted us to pay double the money for an upgrade or to cancel the reservation (witch isn't possible after the date change). Only after we argued with the desk manager and showed him many times there is no option of cancellation in my account they decided we can take the upgrade and we got the private room for 10$

Beds are big, have curtains, breakfast is a good bonus, free walking tour but you need to tip. Some minor disadvantages but overall very good value for money. Location is perfect.

Quite a climb to the 4th floor to the rooms, the shower head was broken and needs fixing. Shower over the toilet, only one between everyone in one room, can be quite a queue to use it, also water gets everywhere so not very pleasant, i suggest getting a shower curtain go seperate the sink and toilet from the shower. Wifi on the 4th floor is poor.

My booking was moved to Lavender Boutique hotel which is their own property hardly 5 min walk. The owner was super nice who accommodated our early check-in request. The location is absolutely perfect if you really want to see the Old Quarters on foot. Mr. Hung and the guy in the reception are super helpful(It is a shame I don't recall his name). Do try out the breakfast option just outside the hotel on the left side. (first shop)

The breakfast timings are super strict, 5 mins delay means No Food.
