Great location, clean, and helpful staff

Some of the lower rooms don’t have actual windows, if possible request a room in a higher floor

We arrived at 4am and the reception staff were very friendly. The lobby looks great. Our room was well furnished, but the air conditioning didn't work. The staff tried to fix the air conditioning, when that didn't work we were offered a free upgrade. During breakfast there was a buffet and you could also choose a la carte. I can only recommend this hotel.

One of the best 4-star hotels in the old town: the location is great - right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants, 7 min walk to the lake. Easy to do things from here. We got a room with a balcony and you have a view of the bustling street which is fun! However, the room was very quiet; It was spacious and neat with all the usual amenities. Cable TV with lots of channels, including movie channels. The staff are very kind and professional. They go out of their way to help you book any trip, transport and provide lots of helpful advice. Easy to talk at any time. Definitely and highly recommended!

A little gem! This hotel is so lovely, excellent value for money. Location couldn't be better, right in Old Quarter but still no noise and the street itself is quieter. Staff are so lovely and helpful - thanks to Hang for being so friendly! The breakfast was great, and they even packed me a little to go breakfast because I was checking out very early! Also be sure to check out the spa - I got two lovely treatments there (guests get a 20% off). If you want value for money, while still retaining all the perks of a comfortable, clean, nicely designed hotel then this is the place for you.

Only thing is the laundry service is very expensive but there are plenty cheaper in the locality so this isn't even a negative to me.

The place is really good value for money. The staff are amazing and its located in the heart of everything. You have restaurants cafes and a pharmacy out the front door. Its a 5-10 minute walk to the river and if you're a beer lover the famous beer street is 1 minute walk away. The breakfast is good too 😊

I dont know where to start! My stay there was absolutely exceptional! I had the best time there. Planned to stay for 3 days, turned out to be two weeks! The staff is super super friendly and very helpful. Thoi and his team made sure, I was feeling safe and sound. I even booked tours with them, which I only can recommend. Especially the Ha Giang motorbike tour (3 days), was phenomenal! Because I was travelling by myself (as a young woman), Thoi messaged me throughout the trip to make sure, I was feeling safe and everything was good! There is a laundry service, nice breakfast and a rooftop bar. The hotel in itself is very clean and very nicely designed. I especially loved the rooms! Coming from a graphic designer: I couldnt have done it better. So the aesthetics of rooms is somewhat important to me! I really loved the rooms and it made me feel right at home. I will come back to Vietnam and I will stay with the Matilda Hotel Team aagin for sure! Thanks again for making my experience in Hanoi absolutely fantastic!

Location is best selling point of this hotel. It's conveniently located near tourist spots, along strip of restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. Staff is very helpful too. Huge shoutout to Hằng for helping substantially with the airport transfers, Grab bookings, and reservation for tours to Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh. Lobby staff is incredible, and makes our stay very very easy.

Hotel's old and outdated, so sometimes we have small bugs inside the room.

great location super close to beer street but still just back enough to be nice and quiet at night, we had a lower level balcony which was cool we were close to the street but could still chill on the balcony and get a nice view of the street and happenings. room size was very generous! very good value for money, would stay again!

The location of the property is perfect, right in the heart of Old Hanoi - most of the tourist attractions are nearby (<3km). The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is very helpful considering the language barrier. Minh Thoi, the hotel manager is the master of all trades - he helped me with the currency, SIM card, taxi bookings, itinerary in Hanoi/ places to visit in Old Quarter, Ninh Binh tour booking. He is very sweet and very helpful like the other hotel staff.

Located in the middle of the Old Quarter in easy reach of many bars, restaurants and cafe’s. Many tourist attractions are located within reasonable walking distance for those who don’t mind exploring on foot. Cyclo’s loiter in the area ready to give those who require it a ride. For a fee of course (: The staff are very friendly and always on hand to offer help and advice.
