Excellent hotel. Well maintained (the best we've stayed in so far through Malaysia, Cambodia, and Vietnam). Two pools: very large/6-foot deep one in the front and a second smaller (kids/soaking) pool in the back. Breakfast was excellent. Good spread of standard warm/cold dishes (western + Vietnamese). Consistent a-la-carte egg station and rotating soup/spring rolls/noodle station. All food options were replenished consistently through end of breakfast service (don't need to get here early to make sure you get breakfast). They clean bedroom/replace towels multiple times a day (at least twice). The reception staff were helpful - provided lots of information about the hotel and the nearby sights to see/foods to eat. In general all staff were friendly and responsive to any request. They could also speak English well. Easy walk to the night market and across one of the many bridges to the old town. Great location.

There are barking frogs in the front of the hotel (they bark well into the wee hours of the morning), but did not impact sleep with the windows closed and heavy/sound dampening blinds drawn. There is a heavily used Motorcycle bridge behind the hotel (linking this island to the next). The bridge is made of metal and make a continuous racket (like rocks being unloaded from a tractor) throughout the day. Did not impact our room in the front of the hotel, but we could clearly hear it when we were breakfasting on the back deck. Cannot speak to its impact on rear bedrooms.

Clean and perfectly positioned away from hustle and bustle. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much for them to help with, we had a perfect stay. Breakfast is great, pool is lovely. Staff are the highlight! Room decorated for anniversary!

Make sure you book a room on river/town side like we did. The other side is noisy with the motorbikes and metal bridge.

Every aspect of this experience from check in, to ordering room service to interacting with the exceptionally skilled staff is simply perfection. There is literally not one negative thing that can possibly be said about this oasis of comfort and luxury. Not only is the building itself new, clean bright airy and spacious, but the staff in this hotel truly are world class. From silver service in the restaurant to a very helpful front of house, this establishment is top class, on a world scale. A particular mention must go to staff members Quoc, Tung and Lan, people who truly made our time in Vietnam unforgettable.

We loved our stay at Ann Retreat. We stayed a few days at another brand name, 5* resort prior to visiting Hoi An, and we can honestly say that Ann Retreat was better in comparison in almost every aspect including rooms, food and staff training. The room type we booked was extremely spacious with its own living room and balcony, the breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious, the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced, the pools (one for kids and one for adults) were great. The room was serviced daily and impeccably clean. The location is also convenient - only 5 minutes by bicycle (which the hotel rents out to guests for free) or 10-15 minutes on foot to the old historic town area. Ann Retreat also offers a free shuttle service to its partner beach club at An Bang beach. The hotel also organized cars to the Coconut Forest, Marble Mountains and airport for us at a reasonable rate. The staff at Ann Retreat were a highlight - everyone was so friendly, helpful and professional. Special thanks to Hong from reception and Hoa from the restaurant for their help and kindness. The on-site spa is also fantastic and so reasonably priced - highly recommend the Hoi An signature massage and scalp massage. All in all, couldn’t recommend Ann Retreat more highly.

Lovely staff who were always helpful and friendly, from checkin, to poolside, to bar/restaurant, and the wonderful ladies in the Spa. The food in the restaurant is amazing. Loved the location - just outside of all the hubbub but a very short walk to the old town, and set in lovely tranquil gardens. The partner bar at the beach is a fantastic place to spend a lazy day and again has great food. Difficult-to-please teenagers were in heaven. We had am amazing time.

Really hard to think of anything. Maybe more, or better timed, shuttle buses to the partner beach resort? But easy and cheap to get a cab.

Loved my stay here! The Hotel is a 5 min walk away from the night market and the old town. The view from my room was amazing and I absolutely loved it. The food was great and they had happy hours at the pool which was the highlight of my stay. They have two pools, one in the front and one in the back. There are also beautiful gardens and cottages for relaxing as you enter the Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us very nice coconut cookies as a parting gift. The only issue was the sound from the metal bridge behind the Hotel but we personally did not find it to be a huge problem. The balcony windows soundproofed our rooms sufficiently but if you are a light sleeper or want to relax in the balcony, it might be an issue for you. HOWEVER, the Hotel had left an apology note for the noise which stated that the Government is planning on making a concrete bridge in June. If this happens i dont think there will be anything to point out about this place.

Location was excellent. I really appreciated the quiet location because I did not expect Hoi An to be the Disneyland of Vietnam. Breakfast was the best I had together with Victoria Hotel in Can Tho. Staff was very attentive, pool was raelly nice and relaxing too. Reastaurant tips for old town where excellent!

Breakfast was outstanding, but cocktails, snack and diner where on the other side of the spectrum. I don't think the staff who makes the cocktails, has ever tasted a proper one. Which is the job of the owner of the hotel: teaching your staff by letting them taste what they are serving, so they know whet it is and how it should taste. Especially for a 5* hotel. Beds where not comfortable for me, it was a bumpy matras.

Staff were really kind, attentive and went above and beyond to help us out. Gave recommendations at the start of our stay as to where to eat, what to do and where to get tailor made clothing. The free bikes were great and useful when we rode our bikes to the beach. Breakfast was delicious - there was a great array of items available. Pool area was delightful, it was nice having an "adult only" pool. Location was good, a little bit further away from the "main" old quarter but it was a close walk and so nice! Free water refill was definitely a bonus as it was very warm and we didn't want to keep buying plastic water bottles.

The staff were wonderful! Shout out to Vu! He was always around to help out with all yr needs. Also Vien and Loan were lovely and went out of their way to make our stay awesome! Thanks to all the staff! The swimming pool was the highlight.. we spoke to a few people who have stayed at the retreat more than once due to the pool. The food and cocktails were great. It was clean and everyone worked tirelessly to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and fun!

The hotel room fridge wasn't the best. Drinks were never cold and the room service menu was ordinary. If that's all you have to complain about then so be it😉

Location was great, room was quiet, we had a balcony. Breakfast was good, staff (meals, reception, pool, guys at the guard house) were attentive and helpful. Pool was great.

The room was quite dated, room & bathroom certainly could do with a renovation -- it would have been a nicer hotel and I am sure guests would have been happy to pay a bit more, given the location and the facilities. I can't remember but I think there were no photos of the bathroom. Also, the weather was really hot so it would help if they had used the air-con more, during breakfasts.
