The staff were very friendly and polite. There were fresh cookies made daily all day and coffee and tea available all day as well. The location was perfect for us because we were right around the corner from the arnot mall and restaurants. I like the wood staircase and the beautiful fireplace as soon as you walk in the doors. They let you choose what floor you want to stay on. The complimentary breakfast the next day was great too. The kids enjoyed the workout room.

The kids really wanted to use the pool but it had been closed for maintenance for awhile. It looked like there were blood stains on the bedding on both of the beds. I have found that all hotel pillows are not the best and you need two at a time to be comfortable and they only give 3 on each bed. We did not have enough wash clothes or towels.

I contacted the hotel directly for an early check in, but they didn't tell us the pool was closed, which was a priority for this mini vacation--I believe we should have gotten an upgraded room, lower rate or something. Everything else about the hotel was excellent and they should receive a 9: room, quiet, an entrance right by our room, ice nearby (chip machine not working), fine staff, full breakfast that was advertised as continental: scrambled, omelet or biscuits w gravy on a rotating basis, pastries, make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, choose your own Bigelow teas, good coffee, no sugarless cereals of 4 options, juice. Friendly, competent staff. 6 white rocking chairs on porch and a table (need to wipe more regularly) with 4 chairs. Should more regularly empty small trash can at front entrance. Very nice landscaping (need some weeding though). Hard to see sign from road (no sign at road entrance, only on side of building). Very near McDonalds, Dunkin', do it yourself car wash, and Arnot mall. Nice quiet neighborhood. Big safe, away from road, mown area to play soccer, etc. (can watch children from porch) Park benches to see view.

Empty small trash can at entrance (never emptied during our stay), weed the nice landscaping, fill flowers bins at side entrances with silk flowers (remove dead flowers), no sign to see from road (only on side of hotel), fix chip machine

Friendly check-in, great fresh-baked cookies, good selection for breakfast, convenient access for dining (Outback across the street) and shopping (major strip malls less than a mile away). Easy access to major roads.

There was a dirty spot on the bedsheet - makeup or mascara maybe - when we pulled back the covers to retire for the evening, so we requested another sheet. After about 40 minutes no one showed up so went to the front desk and got one. Quicker response would have been nice.

The staff were accommodating. When we went to our room we found the people next to us to be quite loud. The woman at the front desk was able to move us. The new room smelled as though someone was smoking in it and they tried to cover it up with a spray. Again, she was great with moving us to a room that was perfect. Breakfast on the first day was good, eggs, hash, cereals, yogurts, toast & waffles. Day two the eggs were biscuits & gravy. A very specific item not all would care for. The pool was closed.

The breakfast not being something all would eat. Better to have more generic hot options.

We booked a suite which was a reasonable size for a family of four and very comfortable. The room was clean to a fair standard and the bathroom was VERY clean. I agree with other reviewers that it could be a bit better- the furniture needs moving to give it a better vacuum. Having seen a previous google review about bed bugs we thoroughly checked the room (as we always do in any hotel) and there was no evidence of any. Breakfast staff really friendly and there was enough choice for all of us.

we booked this hotel specifically because it has a pool and this was closed and was not advertised as such. The heater/air con unit in the room is noisy but we didn’t mind this.

Every time we have visited family in Elmira, for the past 20+ years, we have stayed here. The people that work here are always great & willing to help anyway they can. The location is great for us & we love having the small refrigerator in the room.

This time we noticed several things that have gone down in quality. For example: The shower curtain rod was taped to the wall at one end; the toilet handle was falling off & flushing the toilet usually took about 3 tries; the grout around the toilet & the outside base of the bathtub needed attention; the beds need new mattresses (they are like a canoe in what must be the common sleep location. The one thing we'd like to see is a hook or bar to hang the hand towel. Just laying it in the counter does not allow it to dry & after a day & a night, that one hand towel is too wet to dry your hands. I think a walk-through and addressing the small but noticeable issues would make a big difference. The hotel is clean but really showing it's age.

We loved everything about the hotel. The room and the staff were wonderful, The location was great and parking was a breeze. Getting to the highway was easy. I loved that the coffee was available 24/7.

The only issue was the grounds needed some attention. People did not use the smoking stand and threw cigarettes all around the grounds and between the stones in the from of the hotel. I know you were not suppose to smoke in front but I did but I also brought an ashtray with me and smoked in the parking lot and not on the porch.

My husband and I have stayed there about6 or 7 times. It a good hotel. I stayed with my grandbabies this time by myself and had to switch rooms one time because it had no lock on the door. Then the next room the lock was broken and we had to call the desk to get us out. After that it was good. The pool was not open this time.

The location was good and made access to the airport easy, but there is a lack of signage. That’s not the fault of the hotel, however. There’s no actual road/drive sign.

There was a very strong smell of mold in the bathroom, a problem for someone highly allergic. l also found the heating/ac system difficult to adjust as the room was very warm. Additionally, the system was loud.

The commodities and price value ratio is awesome. The place is very cozy and felt very comfortable.

The fact the swimming pool was not in use was very disappointing. I wish we knew that upon making online reservations so we were more free on the choices ahead of time. But apart of that the rest was great.
