Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some of the furnishings were a bit worn but the setting was perfect. The lake is probably a half mile away but is part of a beautiful view from patio at the pool and where breakfast is served on the upper floor. Our hostess served eggs, bacon and hashbrowns cooked to order and fruit bagels and other self-serve items were available. It is two miles from the edge of Watkins (set your odometer if returning in the dark). We were hesitant because the bed was described as "double bed" but was a king.

This was the first time that I stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. I wanted to do something different for our 40th wedding anniversary. Well, it exceeded my expectations. We had a king suite. It had old world charm complete with a fourposter bed and an electric fireplace. The bathroom was spacious and had double sinks. I felt they paid a lot of attention to detail, including the soft drinks in the refrigerator. The second floor dining area was beautifully decorated. It was nice to have morning coffee on the balcony, and since it was fall, the view was spectacular. It was very peaceful. It was also a great location, close to wineries and the downtown area.

The only thing I was a little leery about was the height of the bed. I needed the little steps provided to climb up. It was fine unless I had to get up at night. However, they did have a night light in the bathroom which helped.

Location is not on the highway so it was quiet but easy to get to the highway. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was large enough to be comfortable for a multiday stay. Much common space for sitting, eating, etc. out of the room.

The view was of the parking lot -the pool was across the lot but close enough to easily reach. Given that we were away from the room in the daytime, this was not a problem

Location was great with an amazing view of the lake. Property is clean and well cared for. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast is casual. Fruit and bagels/cereal set out buffet style. Then a hot breakfast plate is available but only one choice per day.

The shower pressure was not good at all. Little odd that the in room coffee maker and fridge were located in the bathroom.

The location was great. The room had been recently renovated. We had the upstairs room in the Manor. It was great to use the 2 person jacuzzi bath! A great comfort after hiking in Watkins Glen. The room was very clean, well appointed, internet was good. The air conditioning was good for the space.

Breakfast was included. It was okay. The bagels were a bit old. Milk and OJ were in pitchers without cooling. I suggest use of thermos pitchers. The host brought eggs, bacon & home fries which were very good.

Very pleasant one night stay . Beautiful view of the lake from our room . It was not busy at all , which I enjoyed. we felt like we were the only ones there . Quite , clean , comfortable . Weather was not our side so we didn’t get to enjoy the deck or any outside amenities. .breakfast was very nice . Would definitely recommend.

The breakfast was very good. We loved the fresh fruit and the variety of breakfasts each morning

It could use some updates! It would be nice to have sliders out to a private balcony and steps down to the pool. One night because I’d the shared space people got really loud around 2:30 am and woke us up.

Grounds are beautiful. House is spacious with a lot of great features: full kitchen available, pool table, ping pong. Breakfast was great and staff very friendly. Cindy is awesome!

Found sink in common kitchen with a leak. Unable to use our first night but it was repaired the next day.

The breakfast was wonderful!

The cleanliness of the entrance to the manor and the grounds could be improved. I realize that upgrades have been in process to the rooms and hope that will continue to the lower rooms of the facility.

Room was spacious and clean. However, the coffee maker didn't have the right size coffee pods for the coffee maker. The pool was clean and heated. Location is close to several location attractions.

Better coffee in the room and at breakfast.
