Excellent food, excellent staff, great location.

Main hotel was closed and we were not informed about this. The photos advertised look nothing g like the newer wing where you will stay. It felt like false advertising.

Beautiful historical hotel. We loved the tour by the historian. Great atmosphere.

The only thing we missed was a coffee machine such as Nespresso in the bedroom.

Old world charm, with exceptional customer service. Everything about this hotel is first class. Everything at this hotel is manicured right down to the greeting you receive every time you enter a hotel space. We stayed here for 3 wonderful nights to break up a trip from Paris to Sydney and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The restaurant here , especially Angelina’s and their wonderful staff, is a really stand out. Step outside and you are transported to old world Hanoi and everything that goes with that, the heat, the chaos, the madness, but step back and you are transported back into luxury, yet still in beautiful Hanoi. We will definitely be coming back.

butler suggested room upgrade options and upsell their membership program upon check in. was a little disappointed on the final day as the agreed airport taxi transfer wasn’t arranged as requested and after some time, the bellboy had to hail a street taxi for us to get to airport in time.

My experience at this hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. The luxurious ambiance, rich history, and impeccable location made it an absolute delight to stay in. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a truly memorable and indulgent experience in Hanoi. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

One aspect that left a sour taste in my mouth was the excessive monitoring by the staff when we visited the pool area. It seemed that they were overly concerned with which room we were staying in, frequently checking and verifying our presence. Strangely, I noticed that this level of scrutiny was not extended to other guests. It was disheartening to feel singled out and made me question the consistency of service provided. Regrettably, it wasn't until the last day of my stay that I decided to address this issue with the staff. I expressed my concerns and discomfort, emphasizing the inconsistency I had observed. While they were responsive and apologized for the inconvenience, I couldn't help but feel that the situation could have been avoided entirely.

I don't know where to start, this place exceeded my exceptions in every aspect. I asked for special arrangements because I was celebrating my anniversary with my partner, they decorated the room for us, gave roses to my girlfriend upon arrival. they arrange a tour every day to show guests around the hotel, I didn't expect much from that tour but the tour blew my mind, the history, events, and famous guests that the hotel has are legendary, there is even a bunker in the hotel which was discovered during renovations. for the room I got a room with access to the garden, the room was spacious, the breakfast was amazing, and the location of the hotel is so convenient right in the middle of the french quarter. If I come to Hanoi again I will defiantly stay there again

Lovely older property that has been well maintained for many years. Time for a major renovation. Due to loud construction noise disturbance, front desk manager upgraded me to a lovely suite away from the noise. Thank you so much!

Engineer had to come at midnight to open the ceiling and repair the air conditioning...30 minutes. Again, time for total renovation. Restaurants have slipped. Worst Croque Monsier sandwich I have ever had. My $100 Dover Sole was mediocre, perhaps frozen too long.

It's a stunning heritage hotel, right in the heart of old Hanoi, with lots of little details that make you feel like you've gone back in time. The Metropole is very comfortable, luxurious and feels welcoming throughout - the bedroom, bars, restaurants and pool area. It really is a great place to escape amongst the bustle of the city. The staff are friendly and attentive, the breakfast is extensive and delicious and we had a wonderful stay. Thoroughly recommend.

Everything! The rooms are lovely but what makes this place is the atmosphere. The history, the excellent restaurants the settings in gardens the great bar and if you are lucky enough to make it to the 7 floor you will have access to your own major d’homme and lounge. The level of service is unparalleled. If you are ever going to afford to stay at one fancy hotel make it this one it’s amazing! Also got a great massage in the Spa (Scien)

I love this hotel! primarily because of the fabulous staff but it has atmosphere and provides respite from the chaos of Hanoi!

only one complaint and that was the uncomfortable beds and terrible pillows!! we asked for different pillows and had new ones delivered promptly but they weren’t much better! the mattress was very hard and had a huge dip on each side! for the price you pay here they really really need to buy some new mattresses!
