IntercityHotel Dresden

The location was perfect for us. We dropped off luggage at the hotel, then I drove a few blocks just on the other side of the HBF to Europcar to drop off our rental car. It was a short walk back to the hotel. Then we picked up our train the next day to go to Prague. The hotel is very modern, with a good breakfast.

The only thing that I can think of was the glass bridge between the two buildings of the hotel is a very efficient solar heat collector, so the hallway is warm. But the AC in the room compensated very nicely for the additional ambient heat.

Quiet Hotel, designed for a good sleep: 1. blackout curtains, 2. really effective sound proof of rooms, quiet system of shouting the room doors, so you don't get woken up when yout neighbours close their doors, 3. bathroom architectonicaly well separated from the bedroom - no sound or light disturbance from the bathroom to the room, 4. comfortable bed, duvet corresponding to the season. Everything very clean, including the bathroom. Everything practical, effective for a pleasant stay and traveller's needs. Enough place to do my morning excercise on the floor in the room :) electric kettle with coffee + tee bags selection in the room. Surprisingly, a very quiet place, I could sleep by an open window, no disturbances at all. Very nice, helpful and profeasional staff at the reception desk.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and courteous and well informed about what all we wanted to have. I guess the hotel cafe manager (maybe i am mistaken, but a senior person and unfortunately i did not ask his name ) on the first day as we were late and had only 8 minutes for breakfast assured us that we can take what we want and have our time. He surprised us on the last day of our stay ( 4 days later ) by remembering what i wanted as a special request which i had for him on the first day and it was already on my table without even me asking for it.. ... was very very kind of him to remember even such a small detail for us when he only helped us once. The room, though quite small, was spacious enough and very clean and modern facilities and the housekeeping was also excellent.

The Airco in the room did not work upto the expectation as it was really really warm outside and the fact that we had two sides of windows (being corner room ) did not help. Unfortunately, they did not have a ventilator also. i guess for the non-summer days i wont think twice before going here. I also missed the water kettle to make a morning tea in the room before anything else, but the cafeteria compensated for it though very well with the ample spread.

This hotel is super close to the train station, and that was important. The breakfast was excellent. I loved having heated towel bars.

The pillows were pretty skimpy. We stayed in about five different hotels, and none of them had wash cloths or bath mats to stand on inside the shower. It was about a 15 minute walk to get to the more historical sights.

Literally a stone's throw from the train station. Air-conditioned with friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. We got this room for around 70 dollars for one night, which felt like a total STEAL for what they offered.

Our shower drain didn't work too well, meaning that the water in the shower would fill faster than it could drain out. It would flood the bathroom when it went above the shower lip. I let the staff know about it when I left.

Of the places I stayed across Germany, this one had the most breakfast selection for my dietary issues, the best shower facilities, and the most space to move around in. Definitely a better value than anything I found in Berlin.

The thermostat made loud, irregular but frequent (cadence varying from seconds to minutes) clicking noises that negated the quiet room upgrade I paid for. I can handle road noise (sirens aside) better than that. There's no way this isn't a known issue, since housekeeping comes through every day.

The rooms are well equipped and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the staff are very friendly. Location wise, it's right outside the train station so very convenient from that perspective. They offer a free transportation ticket which is nice, so you're in the center of the city in minutes. I did walk most days and it's about a 15-20 minute walk depending on where exactly you're heading. It's worth nothing I also paid a small upgrade fee for the business room, as it's on the side of the hotel away from the train station (so quieter) and it also came with a kettle for tea/coffee.

The hotel is right opposite the main Dresden railway station. There are shops in the station (Lidl) and around the corner (REWE), should you feel peckish. You get a FREE pass to use the local transport system in the city during your stay. Just jump on board the trams! The hotel is very quiet! Even rooms facing the railway station. There is a fridge in the room Very valuable for cold drinks etc. You can easily walk to the city centre, should you prefer to do that.

I can't think of anything. I am a railway freak, and this is paradise!

The hotel was pet friendly and very well located. Parking, though not cheap was very convenient. You can literally enter the train station from the parking garage. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant which is also really convenient. Moreover, on both sides of the hotel are good restaurants. All in all it was a very nice stay.

The carpet in the hotel room looked old and dirty. We were not provided any towels or toilet paper on subsequent days. Although they charged 15 euros per dog per night they didn't provide any dog beds.

The hotel is right across from the main train station. Several tram stops nearby, as well as shopping and restaurants. Easy travel to the city center and sights. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Excellent buffet breakfast. Great value for the price.

I personally found the beds to be rather uncomfortable. I also would have liked to see more brochures and flyers in the lobby, for restaurants and activities in the region.
