Hotel Am Markt

fantastic location, close to old town yet a quiet little spot. rooms a clean, simple and comfortable. had the breakfast one morning and it was great, a ton of food. great spot for exploring Munich.

Amazing location right next to the Victuallien Markt (fruit/veg/wine/cheese/flowers/souvenir stalls and cafes/bars). Our taxi couldn't get right to the door because of the market but maybe you can if you know the area? Hotel staff really friendly and helpful. The two single rooms we had, had queen size beds and were large enough. Really comfy beds and the showers were powerful (no baths).

Worth noting being next to the market it gets noisy very early when they set up (around 6.30/7pm). It's also next to churches so the bells ring about 7am too! If you like a lie in, not ideal! The property has a lift which is a bonus in an old beautiful traditional bavarian building, but it only takes 2 people max (or one and a large suitcase). Breakfast had no options for gluten free diets (I.e. fruit/yoghurt) but there are cafes in walking distance

You must stay here... The rooms are so modern and the bed was so comfy! Great storage in the the room! The bonus was an elevator to access your room. The location was perfect, you step out to a market and take a few more steps you have the subway. Whilst we loved exploring Munich we loved staying around our hotel. The cafe attached to the hotel was amazing! Great atmosphere, delicious food and even better drinks... We barely went anywhere else. The staff were really helpful and topped off our stay as one of the best!

Nice stay right in Marientplatz area. Comfortable hotel, very clean. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment. Bit of a walk with suitcases from carpark - maybe 10-15 mins. Little bit noisy at night with people partying in the street. No aircon in our room, just a fan and a little uncomfortable at night in hotter than usual weather. Staff on reception have very limited english, but we managed with google translate with a couple of queries out of the usual. Room on the smaller side but not too small.

The location of this hotel is perfect! Right in the middle of everything, a very short walk to the train station and a beautiful courtyard out the front with a choice of restaurants.

A bar fridge would have been nice to keep drinks cold as it was very hot when we stayed there. It also would have been nice to have air conditioning, but it wasn’t too bad with the fan on and old buildings are well insulated. I still rated this property a 9 as I knew it didn’t have air con when I booked - I chose for the location.

Fantastic location. Very central. Rathaus, Ratskeller and Hoffbrauhaus all 5 mins walk. Markets and restaurants on the doorstep. Very cool vibe on the streets. Room was small but clean and adequate. High quality fixtures. Attentive staff.

Difficult vehicle access as the Hotel is in the pedestrian area of the markets. Have to park 500m away in Park haus Reiger Str. Not big deal but inconvenient with luggage. DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS. It will get you arrested or shouted at by taxi drivers, for driving in the pedestrian areas. Only stayed 1 night due to testing positive. Had to leave and go into isolation.

The location of the hotel was wonderful with less than a 5 minute walk to Marienplatz! Location was perfect. We were three adults with two rooms and we were pleased. Somewhat old but had a reminiescent feel to me. It was very clean especially in the bathroom.

The man who sat at the reception desk upon check in was less than pleasant as the first point of contact. We thought, maybe a bad night and the next day the woman at the reception was the same. They didn't do anything wrong, just not welcoming with a smile. Just blah!

I love the central location of this hotel. The outdoor market is just outside the door. Check-in at 2PM was easy and the staff was nice. The room was updated and comfy for two people and the bed was great. The modern bathroom was great with a wonderful walk-in shower. No air conditioning of course, but you can open windows and there was a powerful fan in the room. This was my second time staying at this hotel and I would not hesitate to stay again.

Location, location, location! As it was my first time visiting munich, I wanted to stay at the city center so I chose hotel am markt. But I hadn’t realised it was such a great place to be, just off marienplatz and by viktualienmarkt, super place with beautiful sites shops and restaurants by. Definetwly staying there again.

Staff at the reception could be nicer. They were not rude, but never made you feel welcome or smiled when talking to you. It always felt like you were interrupting them from something and they barely looked at you when talking to them. A warmer welcome would be appreciated and it’s a pity beacause the hotel is in other ways a great choice.

The hotel was right in the center of old town Munich. Could not be in a better location. Close to the train station, but we did take a cab. Bfast is not included, but it was nice to have it on property. Staff were very friendly.

This only makes a difference in the summer, but the rooms do not have air and opening the windows is great at night as the cool air was able to come into the room, but being in this great location means it was loud with windows open. Again, only an issue in the summer hot months.
