Lokal Bali Hostel

Close to great supermarket, beach, airport, night life in Kuta without being in a loud rowdy area, room is super spacious 2 bathrooms for 4 girls, curtains lights, pool was nice the staff were so kind, norm kitchen is good for food, good for meeting people but not a party hostel, free tea and coffee and towel included great price, super clean big lockers 24/7 reception is great and I walked to the airport it's so close but not loud from planes

No microwave, staff sleep in the living room in the night which if you are leaving early or coming late can make it hard to go around the kitchen and is a little odd, needing to take shoes of is a little annoying. No lock on the room which is not v secure

Staff were amazing and you had everything at your finger tips. As far as hostels go it was pretty well designed and modern. I was fortunate enough to meet two great ladies who I have had some equally great experiences with. Most people I interacted with were pretty cool. Overall a really great stay.

If you’re not used to local folk and the area looking a bit disheveled, you quite easily could have a shock. I grew up on council estate in the UK and love mixing with locals in any country so I got used to it pretty quickly 😍. I do think someone less exposed to that world maybe wouldn’t be to comfortable 😂. Everyone is lovely though so you really shouldn’t let it deter you with exploring. The airport is really close, you have an ATM and Cafe attached to the hostel. You don’t have to go two far to have your basic needs met. Anyway be brave and go explore 😚. As I said over all a great hostel ❤️❤️ I would definitely come again ❤️

The proximity to the airport is excellent. It took about 15-20 minutes via a Gojek car to get to the airport. The staff were very friendly and provided lots of helpful information. I only stayed for a few hours during transit. The price is good and the vibe was cool.

I’m not sure if I would want to sleep here because the bedroom smelled strongly of mold. The bathrooms are connected to the shared bathroom and there didn’t seem to be an exhaust fan or maybe it wasn’t working. If you’re not sensitive to mold though, this probably wouldn’t be an issue and it would be a great hostel to stay at.

I needed easy and close access to the airport which turned out to be just the case. The location is tucked away in a small enclave in Tuban which can easily be missed when driving or even walking by. Upon check-in, the friendly Indonesian lady who greeted me at the counter showed me my room and to my surprise, a towel and small water bottle was on my bed. Most backpackers in Australia do not provide these, from my experience. The aforementioned front staff lady was also able to provide money exchange when I asked if there were money changers nearby as I was short of rupiah! The room was bright with a lot of natural light entering via the front tall windows. Lovely curtains were draped too, and the A/C was good and strong. I had a pleasant stay and managed to walk to the nearby beach and supermarket in the area.

During my stay, the coffee was unavailable. Wasn't too fussed about it, but that's all I can think of!

I really liked the vibe here! I was very chill and I met some nice people. The people at reception were nice except one guy.. not really sure what his problem was but either or for the most part I did enjoy my time here! The beds were big and comfy. I stayed in a 6 person dorm and it wasn't so bad with others getting up and moving around. The outside pool, cafe next door and Netflix option was my favorite parts of the hostel. Not much going on in Kuta so it is nice to stay for 2 days before you start or end your trip in Bali. Thank you guys so much for the hospitality!

The bathrooms where ehh. It was dark in the bathrooms & it just didn't feel clean - the titles were gross and barely toilet paper, no hand soap only soap from the shower to use. It was cleaned everyday, but it just wasn't a nice bathroom to me. Not like the pictures, but that is most hostels lol

Lokali was like a sanctuary set back from a very busy road. A great layout, with 2 bathrooms in each 4 bed dorm. A beautiful pool area and an excellent cafe with delicious reasonably priced meals. Lovely helpful staff. Both a mini-mart and much bigger supermarket close by. I used the hostel as a relaxation stop before catching a late night flight, so didn’t spend a night, but it was one of the cleanest and most comfortable hostels I have come across. Excellent value! I would definitely spend a couple of days here next time I visit Bali.

Nothing. When you stay in a dorm with bunk beds anywhere in the world, you will have the normal squeaks and noises. They have done their best to make it as comfortable as a dorm can be. There is not much storage space for luggage, but that didn’t seem to create problems in the dorm I was in.

The staff were exceptional. They greeted me with a smile and a hello every single day. They also cleaned the room every day. The restaurant and location are amazing. They also helped me source a bike so I am super grateful for that. The size of the room is good too. My room had 2 bathrooms which was a surprise.

I'm an OCD person so even the slightest smells bother me hence the smell on the sheets and blankets (it was a little musty and I had to use air freshener) along with the smell in the lobby (this was unbearable and I think due to the couch) is what I couldn't handle. The bed could've been a little more comfortable but I'm being pedantic since I'm comparing it to other hostels in Bali. The filter of the AC in my room needs a cleaning or a servicing as if you put it above 20 degrees celsius it started to smell. The pool is not a pool but more like a dipping pond (the pictures are misleading)

The staff were so helpful, they even paid my taxi on my arrival because I had no change Rupiah. Place was super clean, dormitory beds are comfortable. AC was working 24/7. Plus Lokal Hostel is super close to the airport, could be a great start after long flights.

Everything was great. Just all guests may warn about noise when they were checking in. Some guests wake up early and start to talk loud in the room. Thank you.

What I really enjoyed about the place was the peacefulness that it offers, the relaxing environment and the great staff.

I'm always a bit picky when it comes to showers and the ones in Lokal Bali Hostel surpassed my expectations. Now, if I have to say something that could be improved somehow would be that the AC was pretty close to the bed and got sick because of it. 😬😊

the hostel is really clean and the staff is very nice, friendly and helpful! :-) they clean the rooms every day and they have a really nice cafe and spa as well. had one of the best massages over there (and I had A LOT). also the food and drinks at the cafe is SO good! location is nice - it’s within walking distance to the beach and a lot of restaurants and bars. It’s the place to be after flying in to or out of Bali, since it’s really close to the airport (15 minute walk).
