Oleo Cancun Playa Boutique All Inclusive Resort

This is my second time at the Oleo. I love that it is a smaller boutique resort. Modern, updated, large screen TV. I enjoyed the on-site coffee bar and a la carte restaurants, especially Hakka and El Botonero which I visited several times. The beach is beautiful white sand and a stunning blue. There are usually enough beach chairs for people. I enjoyed beach service with food and drinks being brought by waitstaff. They were great and hardworking. The staff are beyond lovely, they went above and beyond, just very kind.

The buffet food can be overly salty, and repetitive. I do enjoy the breakfasts. I ended up at the a la carte restaurants several times. Not the fault of the resort, but some visitors were inconsiderate and left towels on chairs the entire day. Because it is a smaller resort and beach, you may have to wait for chairs to become available.

We liked the absolutely friendly and always helpful staff around the whole resort. The food was great and a awesome diversity. The closeness to the beach awesome. The poolbar was nice and the cocktails yummy. Beds were very comfy and bathrooms had nice lighting , a makeup mirror and even a scale. Lol not that I needed to know. Definitely recommend the resort overall, especially if someone is looking for a smaller more private place. That's definitely a big plus for us.

The AC only cooled room to 23.5 Celsius (73 Fahrenheit) which is fine during the day but too warm at night. Our room was Tower 3. They tried fixing it, but it didn't get better. The music at the pool was definitely too loud and service for drinks for dinner and coffee in the morning was a bit slow in the buffet restaurant. We tried all other restaurants and bringing beverages.in a timely manner wasn't one of the plus points.

Great was the food and service at the HAKKA RESTAURANT. Special thanks to Crispin, Alejandro (Sushi-Hero), Valeria and Noe - they offered a 5* service. Hotel and rooms are very clean!

Everything was o.k. There are almost no palm trees on the beach side. The pictures on Booking.com are from the past! Reality looks different. The only remark - our room was very clean but has seen the best days. Do not expect brand new furnitures!

A pleasant surprise was the room with sea view, waking up to sun rise was magical. Food in the buffet was decent but food at the beach restaurant was very good, we could not get enough of their tacos. Room was pretty big and clean. Staff were super friendly and helpful for any request we had. Overall a great relaxing stay.

Bathroom window was not isolated properly so you could hear the wind going through the cracks. But most of the time the sound of the waves made the lack of sound proof windows an advantage so no points deducted for that. Reason why I am deducting 2 points is the way they cleaned the glasses at the pool bar. It was just a sink full of water where they dipped the glass and than served the next cocktail request.

Everything! The staff was excellent, rooms were extremely clean and spacious, bed was comfortable, food was spot on, drinks were great, beach was beautiful, and so was the view.

Maybe the pool water could be a bit warmer, but that's my only complaint! Jacuzzi was on point though.

The hotel was in a beautiful location, the room was amazing and had a great view.

There was no where to get snacks, e.g. candy, chips junk food, the gift shop was WAY OVERPRICED, I Bought chips and a candy bar 27 usd, wanted to buy a stuffed toy and they wanted 75 usd for it, rrduculicus. It was hard to find chairs at the pool, room service was limited menu. Food was ok... Night Entertainment was limited. Would have loved an adults only section but not available

The hotel is amazingly beautiful. Everything is clean and well taken care of. The pool is not very big but was never too crowded. You could always find a nice spot by the pool or by the beach. They provide little tents by the beach to safe you from the sun - free of charge. Staff was exceptionally nice. Room service was pretty quick. The food at the restaurants was very good. I especially enjoyed the „Hakka“ restaurant (Sushi/Asian) and the „El Botanero“ (snack bar by the pool). The buffet restaurant „Azul“ was good but not outstanding. There could have been a little more variety. Breakfast had everything you need.

There is not a lot of shade around the pool, this could be improved by adding more sunshades. There is a little cafe inside the hotel but it only serves coffee from 8-12 and it costs extra. There is no chance to get coffee after noon which is a little weird. Although it says „room service 24/7“ I called at 5:30am to order something to eat because my friend and I were going on a tour and therefore leaving at 6:30am. We were told that they wouldn’t serve anything before 6:30am. I was very disappointed because we had to leave for a full day tour without breakfast. I assume many other guests have the same problem because tours to Chichen Itza, Tulum … always leave very early.

We loved the boutique aesthetic of the hotel, perfect if you want to avoid the gigantic complexes further along the hotel zone. We felt a sense of calm as soon as we stepped through the doors. The food was OUTSTANDING and far surpassed our expectations for an all inclusive hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

More sun loungers around the pool would be great, a lot of the loungers were broken and/or very worn, could do with being updated. Windows in rooms did not open at all which was a shame, they were also very thin, so the traffic could be heard. I'm not a light sleeper and this did wake me every morning.

No reservation needed for restaurants. The food was overall pretty good. The buffet had interesting themes every night and the food was typically good. The beach was incredible. The staff was always attentive to your needs, and were trying their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The night entertainment at the lobby bar was pretty good, with dancing, casino night, karaoke, etc.

There were inconsistencies with the drinks. It would heavily depend on who makes the drinks. There were not enough room towels, you needed to ask for them. There was also a lack of general entertainment and activities during the day. The shoreline was narrow for beach activities so there were none there.
