Really excellent restaurant, a real culinary treat. Friendly helpful staff in both hotel and restaurant. Room lovely.

There was nothing I didn’t like but given the standard of everything else, the breakfast was a little uninspired in comparison.

Very central hotel. Facilities are new and very clean, comfortable bed, amazing breakfast. Staff was very welcoming and friendly!

The door was a bit squeaky, in the bath room.

Hotel Halbert are doing everything right to ensure that guests have an excellent stay. Every member of staff that we dealt with was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and happy to assist. Our arrival was 4 1/2 hours late which meant early hours of the morning arrival but we were given excellent directions and were met by the night porter. Our messages to the hotel were promptly replied to and informative. Two days of our stay we had an early start so would have missed breakfast but we were given very good 'breakfast bags to go' which we appreciated. The hotel breakfast is very good. The room was well-equipped and very generous in size.

Never thought that I'd ever write this in a review but actually there was nothing we didn't like and we would love to return to this beautiful city and Hotel Halbert

I travelled for a conference trip. Staying at the Hotel was part of the wonderful trip. Overall experience was very good.The hotel's location is superb for one who's travelling to attend conference at the University of Groningen. The University is just next door to the hotel. Staff at the counter and in the finance department were passionate and helpful. Very clean and well-equipped room. Excellent breakfast!

Needed to ask for change of bed sheet and tower even after staying for 3+nights while It's fine with me as I support going Green and save the Mother Nature.

Friendly reception. Allowed us to check in early. Room was very large, and the bed was enormous. The shower was fantastic. Breakfast was amazing. Very close to town centre.

On a seven week cycle tour, bike security is very important for us. I routinely message city hotels to ask whether they can store bikes overnight. This hotel answered: yes, but when we arrived we were told that they could not store our bikes. We had to put them in the public bike garage off Grote Markt. I planned a nasty review score, but the check-out receptionist disarmed me completely by making our breakfast complimenary. Thank you.

Immaculately clean, stylish room with comfi bed, good hot shower, cooler/fridge, coffee pod machine, kettle and selection of teas and coffees, hair dryer, makeup mirror with light. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great central location. Very interesting forward thinking city. Exceptional architecture and design. We had severe disruption to our travel plans and couldn't arrive for our first night. Without needing to ask, they didn't charge us for that night. So kind!

I needed to ask for some vegan options for breakfast (breakfast had lots of great food but not a lot of vegan friendly food ). Once I asked, the chef said he'd sort something out for us (he gave us a vegan sausage, vegan yoghurt, vegan cheese, tomato and cucumber each morning). Having a section on the booking form re: dietary requirements would be helpful. The stairs and hallway leading up to the bedrooms was not hoovered during our stay and had some small bits of plastic and other small debris on it. Our room was above an alleyway and opposite an apartment building. It was a bit noisy but not too bad between 11pm and 7am. The window/external wall didn't seem to offer much soundproofing. Some stairs in the hotel were very steep and could do with a railing on both sides.

Very central location, a few steps from the University. About twenty minutes walk from the central station. Room very nice, clean and confortable; carpet and furniture new. Wonderful coffee (with coffee machine!) and tea facility in the room. Bathroom and shower very clean and functional. The breakfast is very reach and the breakfast room nice, with the possibility of sitting outside in a covered court. We stayed just one night, but we wished we could stay longer. We did not make use of the restaurant Blumé because were already invited for dinner, but both the location and the menu looked very inviting. We certainly will try it next time.

We had a room overlooking the backyard, where a wonderful tree, but also a Kindergarten and a playground are located. Thank to the insulated windows we could hardly hear the noise made by the playing children in the morning, but it is a different matter if you want to keep the window open...

The positivity of the people working there, good food and always stepping up to help. We talked with them about a airconditioner that didnt give cold air and the reaction was "thank you for telling us, is it okay if one of us go to your room while you are out?". Polite people, really nice place!

I have to say the airconditioner in our room, it was warm outside. But its not the hotels fault, the electric things sometimes live their own "life". If that would be fixed it would be guaranteed excellent the next time!

The staff are helpful and we like the glass roof Restaurant for breakfast. My husband like the coffee, you could make it yourself anyway you want it.

We stayed at this hotel before when it used to be member of the NH Hotels about 4 years ago. The main thing we loved about it then was the elaborate breakfast. We loved that it has different variety of really good homemade jams, fruits, beautiful presentation and more options to choose from.

Fantastic location and reasonable price within comfortable surroundings a lovely design but what makes this hotel exceptional are the staff… everyone from the reception desk to the night security and the team looking after breakfast and cleaners were very professional but also genuinely helpful and wanting to make sure everything you need help with is done properly and with a happy smile and genuine honesty… definitely no tick-box lip service to customers but only genuine help and service focus.

It was a little difficult to find and I drove past it at first. Car parking is in a city private parking but the hotel gets you a discount but it is still quite expensive
