They give you a Lugano card, which provides a 20-30% discount to the funicular. It is not EU, so they do not photocopy your passport. Very kind staff. Tea making facility in the room.

Although you need to write “Hotel City Lugano” to the GPS, but on the hotel building you will find a “Hotel Garni” sign. I really did not understand the concept of this room: 2 separate beds, they can’t even be pushed into one (so this room is for colleagues?) – but smoked glass separates the bathroom from the beds (so it is for couples?). Too little sugar for the tea making facility. Registration wifi, and you need to reconnect again, it does not connect automatically. For me the biggest disappointment that there is no Milka chocolate at breakfast :) (it is the best part of the hotels in Corsica: chestnut jam at the breakfast in every hotel).

It’s very clean. A pleasant 10min. walk will bring you to the city center. Breakfast is delicious and staff are polite and helpful. Highly recommend. It’s not really a downside, yet something to consider if you are coming with a big car that you won’t be able to use the underground parking, which by the way is very well maintained, because of the turns. For this better to contact the hotel in advance to check if your car fit the requirements. Otherwise, we saw a couple of places outdoors too. We were able to use the underground parking.

Good breakfast and the breakfast host Katia is exceptional - her passion and hospitality is charming. The room is clean. The mattress is comfortable and supportive. It’s quiet overall - we could sometimes hear when neighbours opened or shut their doors or people upstairs pulled their chairs. But nothing too disruptive and people are generally quite respectful. The stay comes with vouchers for free public transport in the city and discount for funicular rides and museums, which is very handy.

The bathroom could do with a bit more privacy

Good location, new & perfectly kept property and rooms, very clean, helpful staff. breakfast is good. perfect for business stay in Lugano. 5 - 10 min walk to the lake, restaurants and amenities. good value for money. next time will stay the same place

while having jet lag no option to have beverages or snacks at nights.

Rebecca, the receptionist at night shifts, is very sweet and thoughtful. We asked her for a few restaurant suggestions and they were all excellent. She recommended restaurants with her own experience (she is from south of Italy so she is a real foodie) and she always checked with us if we were happy with her choices. She was also helpful in arranging car park, introducing bike rental and other stuff. She made us feel like we were staying with a friend. Indeed staff in this hotel are all super friendly.

We were very happy with the stay but it would be better if there was a bar area at the lobby so that we could have a drink before heading out for dinner.

Everything was clean. Hotel is very well located. Their stuff was very nice. We were able to leave our car in the garage after our check out (as long as we wanted).

It was not easy to communicate with everyone at the reception, either in English or German. In addition, their garage, or rather the entrance garage, is so narrow that if I decide to come to Lugano by car next time, I will unfortunately have to find another hotel.

Nice little hotel that offers really good value when looking for a place to sleep in Lugano. Located 10 mins away from the city centre by foot, it's a great option to avoid the insanely high prices of other smaller hotels in the area. Rooms are good and the beds are super comfy!

A bit overpriced, but it was probably just the fact that it‘s high season and Lugano and the rest of Ticino is rather full these days.

Absolutely impeccable! Comfortable, beautiful, modern and clean rooms with excellent beds. The breakfast is fantastic, rich and of high quality. The personnel is extremely kind. Mrs. Katja serving at breakfast is the warmest and sweetest person! Making you feel like you are a very special guest. Absolutely a wonderful hotel at an excellent price! The city centre can be easily reached by bus, three stops away, with a bus stop basically at the doorstep.

The hotel is newly renovated. We stayed 4 nights, all staffs there were friendly and professional, especially the lady serviced in the breakfast restaurant was fabulous. The rooms are clean and in good size. Good sound insulation, very quite at night.
