Cooma High Country Motel

The lady on reception was very welcoming and provided snacks and milk for tea/coffee. The room was spacious, warm and reasonably comfortable with all basic amenities working, although the walls were a little thin.

By her own admission the room I was staying in was in the older section of the hotel and a little rundown. The new owners appear to be going through a gradual upgrade, as another section has been recently renovated. I was travelling on my own, but stayed in a room with five beds, so the levy was a bit more than I had hoped to pay - my own fault for booking late. It was also a bit of a walk into town to access bars and restaurants.

The carport was an excellent idea especially at this time of the year when Cooma was getting frosts it kept the frost off the car. The room was lovely and warm and clean, lovely bathroom, decent size fridge. Bed was comfortable but too big for the size of the room.

We felt the king size bed was over the top for such a small room. Would of rather had a smaller bed and a bedside shelf on that side of bed where the kitchenette was that you could put your things on. There was only one chair as not enough room for another so I stood up to eat my meal as I didn’t want to spill anything on the bed. Fridge door didn’t open all the way because of the bed. This was the only negative bed being way too big.

Absolutely everything was great! This location/facility is the definition of ‘bang for your buck'. States it’s a 2 star hotel but I’ve stayed and 5 star hotels and this place beats it!! Check-in was great, greeted by a lovely woman and handed the keys. Saw there was a swimming pool near reception, but was closed due to season. Retrieved the keys to the room and was not expecting much to be honest, but room was warm and lovely. Bathroom clean, showers clean and plenty of toiletry to go around for myself and my nephew. Came time to knock off and the bed was SO WARM, with the electric blanket and the heating systems. We finished off the night with movies, netflix, Disney plus and much more available. Fast food and places to eat are all close by! Furthest was McDonald’s at 7 mins. Honestly, will be back!

Receptionist was very kind and allowed us to have late check-out. She gave us complimentary snacks as well. Common area/lobby was very cozy and had activities. Room was a lot better than expected. The bathroom, although small, was very clean and had a warmer/heater for the towels, along w soaps/shampoos. The beds were very clean and comfortable, and there was also an electric blanket in one of the beds which was a pleasant surprise. The kitchenware (cups and mugs etc) were also clean. The TV, the fridge, the A/C and the wifi also worked just fine. There was also plenty of space for parking.

The room was very nice, but small and had recently been completely renovated from scratch. The king size bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. There was a view into the township of Cooma from the window. The Security screens on window were a nice feature and also blackout curtains were great as the morning sun was quite strong. Undercover parking right outside the door to our room was great. Bedroom and bathroom were beautifully clean and fresh. The air conditioning was well appreciated. Lovely large fridge/freezer and kitchenette which was fully equipped with quality cutlery and crockery. Bathroom was a good size. Loved the outdoor pool (not heated) and enjoyed cooling off on the hot days. Short scenic walk to the town Centre which we enjoyed. This accommodation was offering an outdoor pool which was not easy to find in Cooma. That was a deciding factor for us as we love an early morning dip. The lady at the check in reception was very lovely and greeted us very well. Gave us ample supply of biscuits and toiletries aplenty with at least 4 lovely towels for our 2 night stay. The room was private with the next door room undergoing rebuild/renovation.

We did not dislike anything, but these are some things we feel worth mentioning. The room was more like a cabin and quite tight to get around the bed and there were only 2 of us. As the room had been refurbished completely, I feel that a bedside lamp would have been a good inclusion. and we would have liked to have this There was no folder in the room to give us some information on local area, nor were there instructions on how to tune in to the tv. The room was described as VIP with a view. I would not call it VIP, but it was nice, but small with the king size bed taking up most of the space. I would return, but would like to have a larger room next time. One with some living space. Thank you for reading my review.

The room was spacious. The bed and bathroom linen were very clean and fluffy. The location was good, just a short drive to the centre of town or a leisurely walk. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. I found it a bit odd that the microwave and two plate hotplate were outside by the room doors. The decor was a little dated, but this is just a matter of personal taste. However, there are renovations of the motel going on. It was great that the motel is dog friendly. For a short one night stay, it was convenient.

I stayed in one of their NEW REFURBISHED ROOMS and it was fantastic, Brand new, large TV. GOOD HEATING GOOD VIEW from the room. Under cover parking outside of the room. Friendly staff member I spoke to who asked if I wanted to upgrade to the new room for an additional $25.00 They are refurbishing the 30 rooms and it looks like they are putting some type of unit ON TOP OF THE HIGHEST PART OF THE SPACE WHICH WILL HAVE A GREAT VIEW.

I could have used another light blanket and I didn't look for one if it was in the linen cupboard.

Very warm welcome at checkin. We stayed in room 24. Very large room which can sleep 7. We stayed at one end of room and it was very comfortable and cosy. Very comfortable bed, great quality sheets and towels. Very warm room with aircon. Large window with bush outlook. Large TV. The reception area in the motel would be perfect for large groups - family or friends. They had fire, lounges, pool table, ping pong - it was large.

Bathroom could have been cleaner.

The room was very clean. Staff was very good. The lady at the counter waited for us to arrive at 9:30pm and smile on her face. Human connection is much better than just a locker. There was a big common area with nice tables and chairs, that provided more opportunity to enjoy the stay and have interaction with others. I personally loved the piano in the resting area too. It made it more than a motel. It has lots of character and encouraged face to face connection with others. I liked it very much.

A fantastic hotel. A large room for the price, well set up and with a great bed and furniture. The view from the room was great, with wallabies grazing outside the window. The hotel is a block back from the main street, so unlike many Cooma hotels there isn't traffic noise at night (lots of heavy traffic goes through Cooma). Great value for money, it will now be my go-to for future visits.
