Highlands Motor Inn

This was our third stayover for business reasons. In our opinion Highlands is the only place to stay when in Oberon. Everything in the establishment is immaculate from the beautiful gardens to the rooms. Looking forward to the time when my wife and I can visit again with more free time to explore this lovely area. My only question is why there can't be a Highlands Motor Inn in every town? Many Motel owners around this country could learn a few things from how well this establishment is both run and presented.

it was what you would hope for, seemed clean, organised, water was hot, fridge was cold, air con worked and was an easy transaction

Look, small things, but the design of the shower screen meant that despite the shower door being closed, the floor got soaked. And secondly, I noticed quite a strong and cold draft around the front door, which a bit of weather stipping would have taken care of. (As I said, small things, the air con was more than enough to combat the draft and hey, bathrooms get wet : ) )

Spotlessly clean and very well appointed, this property is a pleasure to stay at. Everything worked and was in excellent order and we received a warm welcome from the hosts upon arrival. Situated one block and a level walk from the main street, this property is a testament to the owners/ managers attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Bed was very comfy with electric blankets, plus good air-conditioning. Highly recommended!

I think the owners Bill and Sharon really tried to make our stay pleasant there were lots of little things that added: Bill new my name when we spoke which made the service friendly. Bill even remembered that I enquired about a Restrautant and gave us advice and were to eat. There were chocolates on the pilows when we arrived. There were robes and sleepers in the wardrobe. The tea and coffee facilities were nicely stored away in a roller hutch which had biscuits and a Tim Tam. In the carpark there was buckets and squeeges to wash your windows of the car. The hotel grounds were spaceous and have well maintained gardens. The room was spotless. The many power points in the room. The shower had excellent pressure. The towels were large and soft. The bed was excellent to sleep on. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

There was no plug for the sink but I am sure if I mentioned it one would of been provided.

We decided to come to Oberon over Easter to see the beautiful Autumn colours In the Mayfield Gardens close to town. After spending a good couple of hours out in nature, we checked in late afternoon. Sharon checked us in, very friendly and helpful when we asked about where we could go for dinner. Bill helped us to get the heat nicely set on the reverse cycle aircon. We were very impressed by the room. Spacious and very clean. Bathroom spotless. Nice fluffy towels. We will come back anytime to stay at the Highlands Motor Inn. We will for sure recommend the motel to our friends if they plan to come to this part of NSW.

Everything was great.

the bedrooms and furniture were done up neat plus they had facilities for tea and coffee which was nice including biscuits plus the hot water was nice in the shower. The owner was a nice person and was able to give directions on how to get to the wedding venue and so on, he showed me what facilities are available in the motel, so in other words he’s super helpful.

the room was a bit average to be honest, it looked a bit old but it wasn’t a choice for me, so have to accept it as it is.

The room was neat, very clean, it smelled nice and was warm upon entry because Bill had turned our aircon on before we arrived so we were extremely grateful because it was freezing outside! The room was a good size, the bathroom was great and we were impressed with all the appliances we had access to (microwave, toaster etc.). It was very convenient to have a parking space in front of our room door too it made unloading/loading the car easy. Thank you for a very pleasant stay! I will definitely be back.

it was well located for our trip to jenolan caves and near all town facilities. the room was clean, tidy and contained everything we needed from a couch to a small table for meals.

smoke from cigarette smokers in the car park or on the porch area seemed to funnel straight into the room, which as non smokers wasn't great. A smoking area away from rooms would be a good solution.

The finer little things in each room. Hot choc, coffee pods, biscuits, chocolate, toaster, microwave the room was exceptionally clean and large for a motel room. Shower was amazing. Host super friendly. Location was superb. Would highly recommend.

Nothing, but if I had to be picky I would say a king bed would have made this 11/10

Highlands was a lovely motel. Very neat, clean, comfortable and with modern bathroom facilities. The location was convenient for the Jenolan Caves which was our reason for stopping in Oberon.

We didn’t master the heating regulation during our short stay. Got a bit hot during the night but that was probably more our fault than anything.
