Golf Place Inn Wollongong

Nice clean room with floorboards. TV, microwave, kettle & aircon provided and worked well. Reception were lovely and check in was super easy. Shower and water pressure also great. Nice view of veggie garden & golf course where we were. Value for money was so great, especially since we had our small dog with us, so hard to find pet friendly accommodation! Location is good if you have a car, we went into Wollongong to get dinner. I was worried about the stay due to other reviews but we honestly enjoyed our one night stay!

There was a light on outside our room on the porch all night and it was very bright and shone into our room, the curtains unfortunately didn't block it out entirely, and we could hear the traffic on the main road all night, both made it quite hard to sleep. But we would have preferred that than being placed near the rowdy (we assume attending a wedding) guests.

Clean bed,quite comfortable, renovated bathroom. Very helpful staff. We asked to change the first floor room to the ground. Not available in Golf Place but available in Lakeside Place. That was a big help, since my wife cannot climb the stairs and I was silly not to book ground floor in original booking.

Well, it made worn of impression. No tea spoons for example, I had to ask for kettle. Wardrobe not accessible, too close to bed. It was a sister place to Golf Place (Lakeside place). After all, not critical, but places like that cost usually under 100 bucks.

On arrival, we were told that the room we'd booked 6 months previously (and paid for) wasn't available because of a broken hot water system, so we were told we'd be accommodated in the nearby sister hotel, Lakeside Inn, so all my comments apply to Lakeside and not Golf Place Inn. The room we were given was an upgrade on what we'd booked, much larger than expected, able to accommodate up to 5, had been recently renovated and included a spa bath. There was a good supply of crockery & cutlery, dish washing detergent & a tea towel. The double basin setup, which was outside the bathroom, meant one basin could be dedicated to washing dishes and the other was for bathroom use. While there's no wardrobe, an area containing wall hooks and a plentiful supply of hangers meant we could hang our clothes. There was adequate drawer and cupboard space for clothes and groceries.

A fridge with a freezer would be much appreciated especially when staying for more than a week. There was only one very small glass - a couple of decent sized glasses would be good. A couple of lounge chairs or a double seater lounge would fit and make staying in the room more comfortable. While we could see the lake from our window, there's no where to sit and enjoy the wonderful views of the lake and mountains - some seats near the lake would make a wonderful addition. We realised it was very windy at times so there were a lot of leaves around but there didn't appear to be any attempt to sweep the areas outside the rooms to remove the leaf litter during the 9 days we were there. TV reception when raining or windy was extremely poor - to the point where you couldn't watch it.

I was surprisingly impressed by the room based on the price. I literally chose it cause it was the cheapest option. The room was spacious, lovely views of the golf course. It had good water pressure in the shower. Great smelling body wash, and the room was clean. Breakfast was included- what a bonus! Best hash browns ever! The restaurant area needs help in design and styling. Feels like a little bit of op shop. The lady at reception was really lovely and welcoming.

Can’t really fault it. You get what you pay for.

Golf Place Inn is a gem of a find! The room was large, exceptionally clean, with wonderful views of the golf course. The beds were very comfortable with lovely crisp linen. The bath towels were so soft and luxurious and the shower had great pressure. Netflix on a large TV, supplies in the mini kitchen and a full cooked breakfast were all an unexpected bonus. The staff were wonderful, arranging a late check in for us and leaving the lights on for our arrival. We will be booking lots more stays.

Everything was great!

Having stayed at Golf Place many times over the years due to its proximity to my elderly parents, I was very pleased with the positive changes under new management. The staff are all very positive and helpful, with a friendly vibe - this is in turn reflected in the excellent standard of cleanliness and facilities maintenance. Excellent value for money and a pleasure to stay there.

The facilities are in need of an upgrade, and I note work is slowly underway.

After reading previous reviews I was a bit nervous but we had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean, updated and there was Netflix and air conditioning. The pool has been cleaned and I had a lovely swim. Free buffet breakfast was great. The owners are making huge efforts to update and make changes.

The only thing that could have been better was if I had a ground floor room. But the dogs and mum managed the stairs well. I think all the dogs that were guests were all well behavoured and that should be incouraging for you 🤞all the owners were responsible for their dogs. Looking forward to staying again.

Property is well situated between Warrawong and Shellharbour. The room was exceptionally clean and well stocked with toiletries and supplies such as tea, coffee and milk. All amenities in the room, ie tv, air conditioning, wifi, electric jug and microwave were in perfect working order. The room had a large window which presented a nice view of Port Kembla Golf Course. I stayed at the property alone with my three young kids and felt very safe during our stay. Fantastic value.

Spacious, great lighting, comfortable beds and great value for money

Could not use pool near our located room as this looked like it had not been cleaned in 1 year, but noticed a nice clean blue pool as you came into the property at the first set of rooms near reception. T.V di =d not allow us to use Netflix or Stan even after we got the correct wifi password.
