Mantra Wollongong

Apartment was very clean and comfortable, had everything you needed for a short stay with family of 4. Reasonably convenient location - near the train station and Wollongong Central and close to city centre - you can get to the beach and harbour quickly if you have a car.

The views from the apartment weren't that nice, overlooking carparks. It was very windy when we were there, not very soundproof/windproof and was kept awake all night with the whistling of the wind through windows/doors and rattling of screens/ items in neighbouring properties.

Very friendly check-in and check-out staff at the front desk - they were very efficient and allowed us to check in early as the room was ready. Well appointed apartment with everything we needed. The hotel was nice and quiet, although a little road noise, but not too loud.

The place could perhaps use a coat of paint. The location of the hotel is not really close for walking into the central Crown st Mall or the beaches, but the car park is included and so everything is within 5 mins drive. Located very close to Wollongong station - so very convenient in that respect.

Hotel was in a great location. Was easy to book, and loved that we could book rooms last minute (decided to sleep in Wollongong overnight after a long day at the beach and drive back to Sydney the next day after we had rested). Confirmed booking online, drove straight to the hotel which was 2 minutes away and my booking was already in their system. The receptionist made the check in easy, and the check out too! The room itself was really nice. Very clean and spacious. Loved that the room had a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom, it made it so convenient to come back from the beach, throw the clothes in the wash and have them dry in no time ready for the next day.

I only have 1 very minor area that could be improved on: - While I understand the cleaning is done by the housekeeping staff, it would be great if every room at least had a vaccuum cleaner or broom + dust pan. We stayed only one night so there was no chance to wait for the housekeeping staff to clean the room. Being located in an area known for it's great beaches and the guests will more than likely visit them, it is inevitable the guests will bring back sand to the hotel room. Just would have made the overnight stay that tiny bit better being able to clean the sand ourselves, especially in the bathroom. Other than this, the Mantra was a perfect overnight hotel choice.

Everything! From checking in, to the room's amenities, the convenience of the hotels location being not too far from the shopping malls and beach, and to the simple and easy check out. The staff was amazing and very helpful considering that my friends and I were unfamiliar with the area and wanting to experience the most of our stay.

There was not much to not like. Only 'down fall' to my stay was the elevator. It was very hard to operate the elevator buttons and took awhile for the elevator doors to open once we reached our desired floor.

So convenient to Wollongong hospital & Crown St shopping. Easy check in,brooms are large & so clean. Everything is very comfortable & staff so helpful. Large wrap around sunny balcony with views to the ocean & over Wollongong. I had problem operating air conditioner & front office staff (Muhammad) came immediately to set it going. There is nothing I don’t like about the property, only I couldn’t get a 1 bedroom apartment as I booked too late. The 2 bedroom was very spacious

The apartment was large and spacious, easily accessible and had parking. The staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing us into the room slightly early so we could dress for a wedding and race out the door. Much appreciated.

The apartment was advertised and upgraded to have sweeping ocean views? There was no coffee machine, or even instant coffee available in the apartment. There was only shampoo and conditioner available in the shower. There was a stock list of food and beverage items listed, but nowhere to be found.

Excellent location, 10 mins walk to the centre. Staff were helpful and happily gave new batteries for the remote. Large room with TWO balconies overlooking the train station and wonder scenery of the industrial area. Loving the history of the area. At night, it was magical to see the lights in the distance. Lovely facilities available such as kitchen, laundry and large bathroom that had a shower and bath.

Smallest bed I've slept on, nearly fell off the single bed. Slow elevator and we stayed on the top floor.

The hotel was clean and quiet. Bedding was comfortable and heating was good.

A little away from the main part of Wollongong but, otherwise, okay. We like to walk, so not too bad. It would have been nice to have breakfast on site Otherwise, eateries close by. Also, as we had a busy week prior, it would have been nice if our room was ready, so even though it was 2.20pm when we arrived, we waited until 3.15pm. Shortage of staff apparently. Anyway, all good when we finally got to our room.

Doggie friendly hotel! It was the perfect stay for us and our pooch. Room was spacious King bed, with separate bedroom/ living room which was great. All amenities great for a short stay! Perfect location, which we walked everywhere. Close to town/ beach. Would definitely stay here again with our fury friend!

There was only 1 x elevator in the building, so at times it was slow. Receptionist when checking in wasn't friendly, but other staff was great.

Light & spacious apartment, undercover parking is very convenient, views from balcony very nice, staff were very pleasant & accommodating.

Was very noisy, constant traffic noise and ambulance sirens that start very early, didn't expect that even tho we were on the 5th floor. Was disappointed that there was nothing to help a disabled traveller, when requested some items, were told these were not provided. No rails in bathroom to assist with shower or toilet. Also not enough lounge seating for 3 people
