Holiday Inn Express Sydney Airport, an IHG Hotel

Great value for money. Fabulous shower (brilliant after a long-haul flight), super-comfy bed, room was extra clean. Simple breakfast included in the room rate. Very close to Sydney domestic terminals and an easy bus or cab ride to the international terminal.

Breakfast excellent. Good selection of food. very clean and comfortable table and chairs. Coffee wasn't barrista standard, but drinkable. Great that the breakfast was in the price. As far as the room went, we had no complaints as it was very clean the bed was really comfortable. loved the doona, which we use at home, instead of sheets and blankets. shower had plenty of warm/hot water, easily adjustable. body wash and shampoo were good quality and fresh smelling. The room had enough space to get around, even with our bags on the floor.

Not much really. Just the TV remote was a bit slow reacting to the selection made, but got there.

Check-in was simple. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room was absolutely spotless. Everything in the room was "as new". Everything worked as expected. Room was quiet, furniture was modern and comfortable. Bed linen and towels were clean and fresh. Bed and pillows were excellent. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of tasty options - exceptional as the breakfast is complimentary with the room.

Whilst the coffee (barista made) was acceptable it could be better. There are two components to this: 1. Coffee bean choice, 2. Barista skill level. I would recommend the company consider offering a Nespresso self-service option as a chargeable option. This would address both the issues noted above.

It was a great location, very convenient to get to. The parking was adequate and the hotel was very accommodating to our circumstances. The showers, beds and linen were clean, comfortable and very, very decent. Breakfast was also provided. No room service, but very convenient to get to reception.

We were abit confused about the parking - we asked and got sent an initial set of instructions about driving into the carlift and contacting reception when we booked but saw that the "car lift was not working" when we arrived. When we used to comms system to clarify, the person at reception was pointed and irritable, saying that parking was only on the ground floor, and that it was all a miscommunication. That being said, when we eventually did park ($40/day) the parking area was clean, spacious enough with very, very easy access to lifts!

We booked this late after our flight was cancelled. Staff were great, explained they could order Uber Eats for us and what was on offer as it's an "Express" hotel so not the same as the normal HI hotels. Rooms were lovely, modern, clean and fresh. Big comfy beds with crisp white sheets. Great shower and clever bathroom design. Everything was fast, efficient and made sense for an "express" airport hotel but the quality was still top notch. The staff were efficient but also so kind and thoughtful and even comforted my daughter who was crying at breakfast and offered her a free Kit Kat which certainly cheered her up!

Eggs at breaky were not great. No room service but probably better that you can order Uber Eats from any local restaurant and get a huge range of the best food you'll ever find quickly and you just need to pop down to reception to pick it up.

The hotel is at a 15 mins walking distance from the domestic airport and mascot train station. Free breakfast is always a plus. Check-in and check-out was smooth and the staff were generally very helpful. The lockers at the ground floor to lock and leave luggage after check-out was great for us to roam around Sydney and come back after check-out.

The air con in our room felt non-existent and uncomfortable to sleep. We raised a complaint to the hotel and they happily changed us to another room (without upgrade) that was working alright. Breakfast spread is the same every day. No change in menu.

The property was well kept, up dated, and very clean. The breakfast offerings were good for any dietary needs. The coffee machine could provide many specialty offerings such as lattes or other.

The location was a bit far from public transportation and there was an occasional diesel smell in my second story room. I should have reserved a room with two queen beds as I thrash about too much for a single and I was unable to change my room because the hotel was full.

I did not rec appropriate response to emails I had sent prior to arrival. Arrived early in the morning after a long haul flight from the UK to be told by a member of the recpt staff we were too early for check in & there was no rooms ready. I explained that I had prevs emailed ahead informing the hotel of our early arrival but was dismissed by a very arrogant receptionist. However, another memeber of staff overheard my conversation and kindly arranged for a room to be made availabe as quickly as possible. I cannot remember the helpful staff memebers name.

1. Great to have two types of pillows available on the bed for guests to use: soft or hard pillows. 2. In the room that I stayed in, there were 3 power points with double USB ports. These I find handy for charging my phones, power banks and fitbit watch. 3. Chromecast is available on the TV. I was able to play Spotify music to the TV speakers. It was a matter of scanning the QR code on the TV using my smart phone. 4. The hotel is close to the airport and I can see the planes from my room. However, I did not hear noise of planes landing or taking off. 5. The hotel room that I stayed in was very clean.

NOTE: When using a taxi from the airport to the hotel, make sure you mention Holiday Inn Express (the full three words), because there is another Holiday Inn close by and in the same suburb of Mascot. The taxi driver will take you to the other Holiday Inn if you don't mentioned Holiday Inn and add "Express". Learn from my mistake.

We booked one night here as we were flying internationally early the next day. Everything was great, friendly staff, comfy bed, good shower. The only thing i would have liked would be to have had the option for room service but i knew they didn't do this at booking. Maybe something they can think about for the future :) I would stay here again and would recommend. Oh and the shuttle service to the airport was great also

We liked everything. The room was very small which some may not like, but it didn't bother us at all as we were only there one night.
