I don't even know where to start with how amazing our stay was. We arrived on a Friday at 9am after a very long flight and we couldn't check in until later as the hotel was full but the lovely Jesse let us have a shower in his office and leave our bags when we went out. We received a text letting us know our room was ready and we headed back and he had put our bags in the room for us. (there is no lift so it was very much appreciated). Jesse is the secret weapon in what is already an incredible place to stay. He made the whole experience even better than it was - and it was already fantastic! There was a little bottle of wine and some Maltesers as a welcome which was lovely. The room itself was large and unique. There were windows on both sides and a lovely breeze went through. The room had all the facilities we needed. There were also lots of water bottles available to take if we wanted to and everything was so clean. It is a terraced building with a little outdoor patio area, a balcony on the front and a little parlour to sit in if you wanted to. I wish we could have stayed longer. It is right across from a bar but we never heard any noise. It is surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, quick walk to the bus and train station too. I would definitely stay here again.

That I couldn't stay longer.

We were greeted personally by Sean who welcomed us in, took us to our room and explained where the various light switches were, how to work air con ect. very handy as sometimes these things can be a challenge. The hotel is an old building and has the quirks associated with a 19 century build converted - no lift and assorted room sizes. We had a lovely room with plenty of space, good facilities - which meant you could easily enjoy having a light meal/ snack in the room - the shower had excellent pressure and the water was nice and hot , something that is lacking in many places. Sean took time to make sure we could achieve all we wanted to do in the time we had in Sydney, with advice on walking routes, transport and options of places we hadn't thought of visiting. There are numerous coffee shops, breakfast cafes near by as well as a good selection of other eateries and supermarkets within short walking distance. We treated ourselves to the airport transfer and it may have been a little more than a standard transfer but the driver was brilliant and the luxury of having some one else handle your luggage and ensure you are at the right place for your check in was a nice end to our trip to Australia. Thank you Sean for looking after us so well.

Great location for getting around Sydney with multiple public transportation options and tasty food options. Very walkable. The staff were excellent and even recommended an amazing gelato shop once they saw we were chocolate lovers. The check-in process was very easy and personable. We were able to relax in the front lobby while they readied things and took our luggage up to the room.

The bathroom had a window we couldn't close and no air conditioning vent. So while the room was comfortable, the small bathroom was stuffy and we had insects that got in.

Felt safe at this perfect Sydney location if you like to explore on foot in a neighborhood as opposed to concrete buildings. Could walk to different areas of CBD, Haymarket, Paddington, Chippendale, and catch the train to Circular Quay (harbor), and the bus to Bondi beach. Good eateries, grocery, and laundry service nearby as well..Jesse and Sean were super warm and helpful. Couldn’t ask for nicer people to see at the beginning/end of the day. Comfortable bed, good wifi, and water pressure.

From beginning to end, the communication from staff was superb. The hotel is located in the best neighborhood in Sydney, and open and welcoming to everyone! The building itself is so cool and different, and the toiletries were top! A bottle of wine and some chocolate awaited me when I checked in late. Would recommend it to anyone traveling to Sydney.

I was on the top floor, so dragging my luggage up at night kind of sucked. Wonderful place made it worth it tho! Small bathroom.

Wonderful location and neighborhood. Close to train but also close enough to walk to Hyde Park, Town Hall, etc. I enjoy exploring a neighborhood when I stay in a big city and this was an interesting quirky area with lots of locals. Clean and comfortable room and quiet, helpful staff.

Stairs up to room were a bit hard to maneuver with my bag when I arrived and left. Fine during the stay though. Be sure you are capable of managing stairs with your bags if you stay here.

Cute and quiet hotel with a good location. Great welcoming pack with Aesop bathroom products. Nice people and cute decoration.

Rooms a bit old, no way to open the window and have natural light without opening the big window directly on the communal area. Would really need some tissue curtain so people can’t see inside the room when they walk in the hotel and you can get some light.

the hotel was perfect. Jessie greeted us upon arrival. The rooms were massive. I had the room which had a huge balcony out to the street. we couldn't find the light on the balcony so just used the light from the bedroom when we were sit-in out there. The bed was incredibly comfortable. the mini bar was well stocked. Great location as we wanted to walk to Potts point and the city.

For our needs and facilities were perfect. Some may want breakfast on site and the hotel doesn't offer this. However it is a great opportunity to get out and about, so no need to have food on site.

The staff was wonderful, with many great suggestions to experience Sydney. Sean and Jesse really made us feel welcome (and special :) and were quite fun to chat with. The Medusa is centrally located which made it quite easy to get around. We had some great meals very close by. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front balcony with a glass of wine/beer and watching the Sydney scene. We have already recommended The Medusa to family and friends.

The rooms were a bit small, but had everything we needed... and more - thanks for the snacks, wine and chocolates. Oh, and the shower was fantastic.

It is a gorgeous terrace, beautifully maintained and decorated. The room we stayed in was large with a view out onto the courtyard. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. It was great staying in a place with character in Darlinghurst rather than a traditional hotel.

The only thing that isn’t easy is parking. On weekend there are 4 hour meters, but no unlimited parking.
