The Savoy is something of an institution in the east. There are not many affordable hotels around that location, I think the other hotel nearby is about $2000 a weekend so I am quietly grateful for the Savoy. The staff are cheery, the manager/owner? is lovely. It is a basic hotel, think your ordinary motel across the country but it is in the middle of Double Bay.

There is no point paying affordable prices and then complaining the hotel is not the Intercontinental. The plumbing in our room was a little noisy when we showered but totally acceptable. We had lots of room in a family suite with three beds for $260 ish so what is not to love?

This was the 3rd time we have stayed here and love it ! Location great, staff great, ferry to circular quay at our doorstep, 10 minute drive to Bondi, relaxed, clean and laid back village style feel with great pubs and take aways for family meals etc. convenient Woolworths and Dan Murphy’s nearby also

Not much not to like for us really to be honest Parking can be a little hard at times to find spots if not parking in the local undercover car park Will always come back to stay here when we are in Sydney

The Savoy was a very convenient location for us as we were going to a concert at Moore Park. The rooms were old style, but very spacious and they provided more than one bed in each room so we had heaps of sleeping options which was fantastic!! Overall it was great value for money, good location and exactly what we neeeded.

There was a noisy drip outside my bedroom that was a bit annoying, could easily be fixed and the bathroom was very small, but the room was lovely and spacious so I guess you can't have everything.

I stayed on my own and only needed a safe, comfortable place for a few nights. Just a bedroom and bathroom. The location to the ferry dock was less than 10 minutes. I went for a sailing experience. The air con was much better than I have at home, so was the shower. A double shower. Excellent hot water. The bed and linen were super comfy and the linen changed daily. Very quiet, close to fashionable cuisine and also supermarkets. A small bar fridge provided, but communal kitchen and laundry also supported. Lift and stair access. Double Bay is close to city centre, so the proximity to the ferry was a nice touch. Room secured with touch card. I would recommend if sole traveler not needing to entertain or provide for kids on site as very affordable. I also liked the personal hygiene dispensers in the bathroom. The room has upgrades, great air conditioning. My internet via Telstra well supported.

Initially coming from QLD the building was old, but that added to the charm of staying in Sydney.

The location of the Savoy is wonderful - a charming area, cafes and stylish shops at the doorstep, supermarket close by and the wonderful Woollahra library only a short stroll. A five min walk and you are at the ferry which is only 2 stops from Circular Quay. Reception staff at the Savoy are always helpful, friendly and professional and all rooms are comfortable.

We are repeat patrons of the Savoy and have only just discovered the very pleasant reception area lounge on the first floor. This is entirely our own fault. A nice bonus which we will look forward to availing ourselves of next visit.

The location of the Savoy is great and the area is really pleasant and safe. The staff are friendly and professional and often go ‘above and beyond’ to make your stay run smoothly.

Nothing than the Savoy is in any way responsible for but sadly the ferry to Circular Quay wasn’t running due to a wharf up-grade but it will be going again in less than 6 months. Ferry is a lovely and convenient way to get into the city centre from Double Bay.

I always stay here as it’s really quiet at night and close to busses, trains and the Ferry. it’s real easy to get into the city, Bondi and other attractions. it’s not expensive as far as hotels go.

the first room in the atrium on the second floor was tiny and had a damp smell. i approached the manager and it was changed to room 113 in the atrium but on the first floor. wow… two big rooms. was much better. the room really needs a deep clean as there is dust inside the cupboard, Aircon and Extractor fan. I think that there is a shortage of staff to handle the cleaning properly.

The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was of good size. The location was fabulous and there were a great selection of eateries available. There was minimal noise from the road too. I thought the woman I met on arrival at the front desk was extremely helpful and also the gentleman that very kindly delivered our bags up to our room.

I thought the TV could be replaced with a new one? I found the picture quality slightly blurry. Also a teatowel would've been handy to dry the dishes and possibly a little bit more dishwashing liquid would have been nice.

value for money/the location was fantastic - perfect for those wanting to visit the cbd and the eastern suburbs / beaches. The executive room/s is worth every penny, not many hotels in the Sydney cbd or eastern suburbs with a balcony/terrace (and a sizeae one you get with the executive suite) views are lovely, it was quiet at night, comfortable and the room had an everything you needed and extra surprises. Written by an ex Sydney sider, I will definately be back.

the pillows could be a little thinner / softer, and there was a discarded coffee cup filled with cigarette butts in the corner of the terrace however unsure how long it was there for and the maid might’ve missed it as it was wedged behind a pot plant .

After a chaotic start – with the hotel having us booked in the next night (despite the bookings.com record), and then giving us a room which had not been serviced since the last occupants, we eventually were given a room which was spacious and functional. Its best feature was access to a terrace with table and chairs overlooking one of the shopping streets of Double Bay. While an adjoining room also had access to a similar terrace, they did not use it and so we had the open area all to ourselves. The shower was placed over the bath which required you to step over, but there was a grab handle to assist. Would probably stay here again, but would double check that the booking details were correct before arriving.
