BEST WESTERN Plus Hotel Goldener Adler Innsbruck

This property is in the perfect location for the old town and is an absolutely beautiful building! Only a 15 minute easy walk from the train station. Our room overlooked the old town street and the staff were so friendly and accommodating! It would be hard to find a better place to stay in old town Innsbruck! We would definitely stay at this hotel, if and when we come back to Innsbruck!  only a 15 minute easy walk from the train station.

The only problem we had was that our room had a hard time cooling down at night, but the staff were great to help us with that.

The hotel was just as pictured. A mix of medieval and modern. Modern bathroom comfortable beds. Located in the historic district of Innsbruck, offered a stay in a medieval city. Many historic sites just steps away. Very picturesque with the Alps in the backdrop. Also close to the bus stop. Market etc. Very nice and welcoming staff. As a added plus a exellent restaurant in the hotel. I highly recomend planning a meal here(weekend reservation recomended) traditional Tirolian menu! Having dined several times, the bill for 2 hovered about 100 euros. Not bad for gourmet meal. My opinion.. a great hotel, and resturant in a historic city offering access to Innsbruck has to offer!

My disslikes.... none with the hotel or staff. However.. if you are comming by car call ahead about parking. And just be aware the hotel and surrounding area can be very busy at peak times.

Hotel was very quirky and had a historical feel. Room wasn't huge and bath/shower was a glass corner area of the room. Our view wasn't good.. just a brick building.. We did have an evening meal but a bit pricy but you are based smack bang in the middle of the town which was a beautiful perfect location. All the staff lovely and helpful. It is based in the perfect place for the town.

Carpark is an underground public carpark and maybe a 5/10 min walk away but you do get discounted rates. I personally found this a nightmare with cases in tow.

In the heart of the Altstadt, it is a great base. Also convenient for public transport connections to get into the mountains. The room was the usual size for a double. Breakfast was excellent. Huge choice of meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, etc. and great cooked food. The scrambled eggs and bacon were excellent. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful like a family hotel should be.

It would have been nice to have had an occasional table to go with the two chairs for somewhere to sit and relax other than on the bed. There was a nice bar area but poor selection of drinks. We stopped in for a nightcap one evening but they didn't have any of our preferred drinks.

This place was a big win for me. Amazing location in the middle of the old town, right by so main of the main sights and surrounded by great shops and restaurants and 15mins from the airport in a taxi (about 17eur one way). The hotel oozes history everywhere you look. Has a charming (but tiny) bar area, and the restaurant tables are scattered amidst archways. I didn't have breakfast here (18eur) but I did have dinner and lunch on separate days - both were delicious and the pricing was fair for the area. The bedroom was perfectly acceptable - I had an attic twin on 4th floor - soft furnishings a little dated but it was spacious, the beds were very comfy and the shower was brilliant with lots of hot water. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. SOOOO friendly and helpful and made you feel very welcome.

The only thing I didn't like was the house red wine. In my opinion it is terrible. I had it because if you opt to go without room service the hotel gives you a voucher for a free drink - encourages great sustainability credentials. I dont know if you could have anything else for the free drink, saw some apertifo things other guests were having. Anyway, they DO have a delicious red by the glass on the menu - a cabernet merlot known as number 7. This I really enjoyed coming back to have some with a cheese platter for lunch. If that was made the house red, now, that'd be something......

Very traditional building with a modern touch close to the Golden Roof in Innsbruck. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, had a huge shower and tea/coffee maker. The ambience of the restaurant was very good and the food in the restaurant both dinner and breakfast was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly and provided good service on the whole.

Although we received very good service overall, the reception area usually had one person dealing with checking in and all guests’ queries. If one of those queries led the reception person to visit a guest room, the reception area was left unmanned. We waited 20 minutes for our room key and this happened a few times. A minor point, it would have been appreciated if there was a bottle of complimentary water in the room. This is a good quality hotel and it was frustrating that we had to find a shop to bring a bottle of water back to the room.

When we arrived the room we were allocated had a strange and unpleasant smell. It may have been due to a previous resident having smoked in the room - so was not the fault of the hotel. The reception staff are amazing and were able to find us a lovely room that was fresh, clean and fragrant! No fuss made at all and not a problem to move us. The breakfast staff are wonderful and I ate the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted! I recommend them wholeheartedly. A lovely stay.

This hotel is very historic and pays due regard to its heritage, for example the mosaics in the breakfast room and pictures of noteworthy guests. The facilities are modern and we loved our cute room. The location could hardly be better, right in the middle of the old town, but walking distance from the station (15 minutes). We were able to enjoy the Christmas markets and events right outside the front door. I really enjoyed staying in this hotel, both because of the ambiance but also because the staff were exceptionally welcoming.

Nothing really - next time we might pay more for a larger room but for one night a smaller room was fine.

Amazing hotel….Great location, superb breakfast and dinner, fantastic rooms and great staff. when I say great rooms, I mean spectacular. We may have been lucky on the room we got, and I did upgrade last minute to deluxe double room, but I can’t tell you how amazing the room was. we ended up with room 102 right on the corner looking over 2 streets. the windows opened up at an angle for rain or fully to let the breeze in. So amazing to open the windows and drink your morning and/or evening coffee enjoying the street views and happenings. Outside waitstaff are mostly older and cranky but the food makes up for it when it does arrive. front desk staff was especially delightful and especially Lina.

not much we didn’t like except a very limited bar.

This is a great historic hotel in a perfect location. It is in the pedestrian zone not even a one minute walk to the famous golden roof. There are dozens of restaurants and shops all around. They have a nice restaurant on the property with both indoor and outdoor tables. They also have a small bar but it did not have much ambiance. Parking in the public garage recommended by the hotel was easy and it is less than a five minute walk to the hotel. The hotel can offer a discounted parking rate. I am not sure if the garage had an elevator, if so we couldn’t find it so we had to haul our bags up a flight of stairs. Good thing we pack realatively light. We had a corner room with nice views of the old city. The room was spacious and clean. WiFi was good and reliable. The front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. We had a great stay and am happy to recommend the Hotel Goldener Adler to anyone visiting Innsbruck.
