Schwarzer Alder is a beautiful hotel architecturally as well as features and service. It's run impeccably by people who obviously care a lot about their work, and they go out of their way to help you. It's very clean and comfortable. They've thought of just about everything to help make your stay the best it could possibly be. I really enjoyed my stay here and slept very well both nights. Breakfast is stunning and delicious and is located in an absolutely beautiful room. Great job!

The shower! When you set the water temperature, it goes from that temp to cold and then very hot, back to normal, then to cold and very hot, and repeats, so unfortunately, enjoying a shower was not possible.

Good value, location, clean, comfortable. I find Adler the perfect balance of value for money, with all the things I need. Relative quiet (solid floors & walls), clean, spacious room, acceptable bed (often two mattresses pushed together), and a good working bathroom. WiFi. The bathroom fittings are good quality, modern. With free liquid soap dispenser. Towels. (Unfortunately I never found forgiving loo roll in any hotels in Austria). I love that the hotel has extra facilities on the first floor for travellers, such as washing machine (dryer), ice, snack & drink dispenser and glasses. Sure enough, grabbed a drink from the bar. I was lucky to get a small balcony with the room (smaller than 2nd floor) that give nice views of the mountains in the distance. The rooms air conditioning (hot & cold), is not working until the end of August 2023 - it is good to have AC as the noise outside from the pubs can get lively if there’s a full crowd until 1am. The windows/door block out the noise well once shut. The room gets warm quickly. There are nets that pull across the windows to prevent bugs. The reception staff are very warm, friendly, helpful and professional. Exactly what you need after a long day of travel. The hotel is suitably located near the old town and not too far from more modern shops. There’s a small green park nearby. Not far from the river too. Train station not too far to walk either (even in light rain); which is where you might get off if getting the cheap bus from the airport. There’s nearby bakery, if you want to grab breakfast out. Or a small supermarket. Unable to comment on the breakfast in house. I’d come here again. And recommend to friends / family, if you can ensure your AC works (new system due by end Aug).

Very little to dislike, other than we found the air conditioning was no longer working, and kept awake by noisy crowds until early morning. I’m told the AC will be new by the end of August.

Very nice heritage guest house renovated to a very modern internal standard. The room was very comfortable and with good use of the space and modern designer furniture. I liked the way that the breakfast buffet was designed in a basement room that feels like a vault of a church. The spa area in the basement was very serene and has new sauna and steam room facilities. It is a short walk to the old town and key tourist attractions as well as excellent public transport links via the Bus number R that goes to the main station and a loop around the city centre every few mins. Staff were very professional and polite, with English spoken.

No particular concern. A bit of noise from the Irish pub next door.

I loved absolutely everything about this hotel! I didn't expect it to be that cool :) 1. It's located very close to the city center, just 10 minutes and you are in the center. Railway station is very close as well. So it felt like we were close to everything :) Besides, the city is located near the mountains, so those views from the window were so special! 2. I really loved the staff! When we arrived, they were so nice and welcoming! Besides, a woman who met us decided to make an update to us and we got Maria Theresia suite... I was so impressed! It's so huge, so nice, so beautiful! We didn't even want to leave the room hahaha :D Incredible! 3. As I already mentioned the room was so much more than I expected... So wonderful and beautiful! Highly recommended! The bed was very comfy, we had all the necessary facilities, the TV was nice and big, we had a dining area, a sofa, and a really luxury bathroom! WOW! And yeah, it was super clean. 4. The hotel itself looks like a lovely austrian hotel in the mountains, gave me some Kitz vibes haha. I loved it. And they have different rooms, so you can choose which one you'd like. We booked a modern standard room and had no idea that we'd like the classic-type update so much :) Thank you!

I expected more from breakfasts... The choice was pretty poor. Breakfasts weren't included and we just bought it once. It was pretty pricey but we got just some cheese, ham, and that's it. There was no cool bakery, or fish, or pancakes... I think you can do better guys :)

It was our second time in this hotel, and we would come back here again and again :) Last time the staff made a gift for us and let us live in Maria Theresia suite, this time we got a free upgrade as well! It was another suite (the one located in the corner with the round sofa). This one wasn't as huge and luxury as Maria Theresia one, but still we really appreciate the staff's upgrade! Thanks a lot! The room was very spacious: we had a really huge bathroom (cool and stylish one), a nice bed, a TV, a sofa with a table and a lot of free space. Everything was very clean and looked pretty antique. Great time! The only thing is that we didn't have the fridge (or it wasn't working, I don't remember), but the staff offered to place our food in their fridge and get back when we need it. So so so helpful! Thank you! But besides cool room and wonderful staff, I also love the location of this hotel and the atmosphere inside. It has this mountain hotel vibes and it's really cute + it's very close to the city center. Will come back for sure!

We didn't order breakfasts this time because we were pretty sad because of them the last time. But other things are wonderful!

Great location - at the midpoint between the train station and the old town. Supermarket with hot food right across the street. Oh there is a little spring fountain near reception

I think breakfast is a bit overpriced at EUR 20, but I do like the decor of the lower ground floor dining area. The room isn’t “modern” - I mean I do appreciate the Austrian feel to it, but I’d have preferred to have a desk and chair where I can work on my laptop. Ended up working in bathroom (toilet is in another room btw) with laptop on window rail… hmm…

Location was very good, as within a 5 minute walk to old town and other Innsbruck points of interest. Hotel has a lovely historic and traditional Austrian theme throughout the common areas creating a nice ambiance, with our room on the 3rd floor being spacious, very clean with modern furnishings, comfortable and having good luggage and clothes hanging space, along with a desk and chair in a sitting area. Tea/coffee making was also available. Breakfast comprised cereals, pastries, bread, cheese and cold meats, alongside varying hot choices which was more than adequate. Coffee, tea, fruit juices etc were also available. One additional feature of the hotel was the lovely traditional bar located on the ground floor. Finally, whilst the hotel does not have its own parking, there is a public parking garage conveniently located within 50 metres of the hotel (cost approx. 20 Euros per day).

The location of this hotel is great. It is near the Old town where most of the attractions are located. It is also near the Congress Building where you can take the bus to Swarovski or the funicular and cable to go to the top of Innsbruck. There are eateries and several mini shops where you can get drinks or snacks.

There was no mini fridge/bar but there was a service point on the first floor where you can buy stuff from the vending machine. If you need to keep something cold (medicine like insulin), you need to ask reception where you can put it.

The location is great - 5-7min walk into the main centre, quick walk to the gondola and you get a view of the mountains outside the hotel. Staff were very friendly. We never had breakfast which was 20 euros. There is a mini mart very close by if you just want a quick easy, cheap breakfast. Room was nice and clean.

We stayed 2 nights - First morning we were woken up early from drilling and construction right outside our window and the second night it was very noisy from late walkers singing and shouting. Not the hotels fault but good to note its a popular street
