Austria Classic Hotel Wien

This is a fantastic hotel for many reasons. Old fashioned standards of cleanliness (spotless), friendliness (everyone greets you), and quality of furnishing (simple but good). The ethos of this family owned hotel was summed up by the photos of all staff being displayed on the wall. It felt like one team sharing the same principles. The breakfast buffet has lots of variety, introduces changes to the options each morning and the staff are constantly attentive to clearing or replenishing. Large selection of very tasty bread. The pieces of sacher torte were better than the very expensive version we boughg in the cafe at Schõnbrunn! Good coffee and tea selection. Just sorry I didnt get to use the sauna. The location is brilliant. 250m to Praterstern station that has all modes of transport converge on it, including direct line to the airport. Superb eating places within 200m from Mat's wurstelstand and Restaurant Mahlzeit (ridiculous low cost yet quality hot dogs and schnitzel). All told, this hotel is excellent.

Room was quite narrow. Someone (hopefully the cleaner) opened the door at 7:45 and woke us up. Only news channels in English on TV

Perfect location two metro stops away from the inner ring and close to a larger train station for the trip back to the airport. The hotel is on a large boulevard with cute cafes on either side (though the street is currently under renovation; it will be even better in a few months). Front desk staff/bartender were super friendly and helpful, and made great drinks and dinner recommendations. Room was quiet and comfortable and plenty large (upgrade to the queen/king plus extra bed; you'll appreciate the extra space). Nice patio area outdoors to unwind and have a drink after walking around all day, as well as for breakfast. Great sauna downstairs and small workout area. If you want a better workout (not that you come to Europe to work out) there is a full service gym about 2 or 3 doors down from the hotel.

The hotel is non-smoking, but the courtyard patio (which is very nice and peaceful) is *not*. In Europe (well Budapest and Vienna anyway) all restaurant/cafe outdoor seating areas allow smoking, but I would love to see the hotel make an exception here. Another seemingly European practice is to separate the shower area from the rest of the bathroom with just a short glass partition. It's not enough; everything gets wet. That said, the shower itself was wonderful :-)

The hotel is close to a direct metro line to the main train station, and has a smaller train station within walking distance. The same line will take you to the Vienna International Center (business area) and Stephansplatz (and pretty much everywhere in the center). This is a very cosy, cute, retro hotel. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and will give you a lot of info on arrival. Just ask, and they will give you more answers. The breakfast was good, great value for the money. Overall, a great hotel completely worth its price.

The room was a bit too hot, and it was complicated to regulate the temperature, as the tubes with hot water passed through our room. Nevertheless, we manage to find a good set up after a while.

I seldom write reviews but found the total experience very satisfactory. I relied heavily on the excellent and friendly staff to help me with all sorts of questions relating to tipping customs, German terms, navigation. Probably the best experience in this regard ever. I even got a teddy bear since I happened to mention my Geburtstag. Facilities are modern and very clean and the maid service was dependable and speedy. Some nice patios and excellent Austrian breakfast! Location is absolutely perfect.

Our room was small but that was partly because we requested a bathtub, which took up part of the space. Towels are very skimpy by American standards and few are supplied.

I have stayed several times at this hotel, mostly for business (visiting the IAEA Headquarters) and I think that in its category, it is one the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Certainly the best I have found in Vienna/Austria. Hotel is beautifully kept, in a perfect location on Praterstrasse, breakfast is superb, staff really friendly, rooms beautifully clean and well kept. I have never been disappointed in my stays there and it's the only place I will ever stay when I visit Vienna. It's superb value for money.

Perfect for me. I cannot fault the hotel.

The breakfast was pretty standard, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon with a meat free option for vegitarians. Severa types of bread with ham, cheese etc ... but it was all of somewhat higher quality than many other places. The room was nice, the sheets were nice, the mattress was OK which it isn't in many other hotels. The staff were very helpful finding a wheelchair rental for my mom and a reliable cabbie for the trip to the airport. Also, the Praterstern railway subway station is 3 minutes walking down the street and the hotel is within walking distance of that famous Vienna Ferris wheel.

For its category, absolutely one of the best hotels we have ever visited. Workmanship and room design are simply superior. The "comfy" factor was one of the main attractions. Staff, both at reception and especially at breakfast were exceptionally attentive and hardworking. The breakfast buffet was copious and always well-stocked. I can't say enough about this quality and excellent management of this hotel.

dimming lights in room and bathroom? This is nothing major.

We were really surprised by this hotel - better than we had expected! It has a great location near to a train station - that was invaluable for us! We had to travel to Linz one day and then Bratislava the next so getting to the main train station was pain-free. The reception people were very friendly and great. We arrived in the late evening but no issue! The whole hotel has heritage and they take pride in telling you about it. We also had a laugh and joke which "broke the ice" so to speak. That we found great and personal. Something we don't normally do is use a hotel bar. That was cosy , friendly and very personable plus I thought reasonable value. The breakfast was great (for us) with a good selection. The room itself was comfortable, shower and toilet both very good. The bed very comfortable and we slept well. My wife and I would definitely stay there again.

Everything was perfect for us and our stay.

The breakfast was amazing, with varieties of cheeses, sausages, hash browns, yogurt, various pastries, coffee and tea, varieties of juices and fruits, the atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing, and the staff was very friendly, polite and prompt. this was beyond my expectations. be ready to drive down to cobblestone very narrow streets. Parking was available for additional pay, €39 per day. Place is located within five minute walking distance to Charles Bridge. I’m going to miss Prague.

I wish my stay in Prague was a bit longer.

Very good location. 5 minute walk from the train station and about 20-30 minute walk to museums, shopping, St. Stephen's church, and lots of restaurants along the way. 2 minute walk to a little grocery store for snacks, chocolate, etc. Fabulous in-house breakfast and even has a spa and gym! Rooms are efficiently sized and comfy but who goes to Vienna to spend the day in a hotel? Staff was wonderful and had great advice for places to see or eat. Courtyard rooms very quiet at night.

Hmmmm, can't think of anything I didn't like.
