Holiday Inn Express Beijing Dongzhimen, an IHG Hotel

(+) Location: Next to Dongzhimen & Sanlitun, the location is very central with lots of restaurants & entertainment facilities in the vicinity. (+) Breakfast: Very nice buffé with lots of variety, both asian & western cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the vibe in the restaurant, the decoration & comfort of the seating area. (+) Flexibility: Easy to check in & out, no waiting time. Particularly the checkout is automatic, just drop the room key in the box.

(-) The adjacent bathroom in the room has transparent tile wall, which makes the bathroom brighter during the day, but it can unintentionally make the room light in the night when one person is sleeping on the bed and the other one is in the bathroom.

Nice location, polite and helpful staff, great breakfast, convenient laundry and luggage storage service. Peaceful yard with a cute garden and tables made my morning work sessions much more pleasurable. Additional thanks to reception admins who helped me to extend my booking without changing the room. Sometimes it was hard to find free tables in the breakfast room

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Location is just perfect. The room was clean and tidy with a big and comfy bed. One of the best parts of staying in this hotel is communication with the staff - always ready to assist, always super friendly. Betsy Li was super helpful in solving anything we turned to her with.

The only thing that was a little disturbing is never-stopping loud video advertisement in the elevator which is constantly repeating and annoying. Perhaps it is better to switch it off as sometimes you start thinking it is much better to use the stairs ;)

The staffs are cordial and helpful... the breakfast is good... hotel is good, location is great.

When you check in along with the checkin card, you are given toothbrush and paste. The rooms doesn't have brush, comb, vanity care or anything, need to go to reception to get even the first set of any items. Soft drinks, also given in reception, when you checkin, it is too bad to collect this from the reception and come to the room along with your luggage. This is the first time experience. For everything need to go to reception. For Laundry use they wanted to charge me RMB 40, but when I said it is free in other IHG hotels, they didnot charge. Over all apart from this extraordinary rule of issuing even the first set of utilities from reception (my first experince), the stay was quite good.

Location is strategic to sightseeing places. Walking distance to a shopping mall and some eateries. Breakfast has many varieties. Spacious lobby with free coffee. Friendly cleaning staffs.

The registration staff was not so friendly/impatient when we request twin beds instead of queen bed, ended up they gave me a room at the same floor as meeting room & laundry area at the lower floor. The window view was supposed to be garden view, but they gave me the "aircon compressors" view... The room was small but it's ok to stay for 1 or 2 nights. Don't like the huge mirror facing the bed, the overall hotel looks slightly old fashion.

I would like to recommend strongly this hotel. The location is very good, you can walk to the metro station, or take the shared bicycle easily. Grocery shops are nearby. A good restaurant with pekin duck is just on the other side of the street. The hotel has laundry room, very convenient for those who stay long. The breakfast offers many choices. It has also a fitness room, i use to be there every day for 2hours. 😅The price is very good if you book early enough. Service is way better than a 4 star hotel in italy (also booked in booking, which was our worst booking ever!)

The TV set is a bit old. I was there in summer holidays. There were many chinese groups in the hotel. They are sometimes a bit noisy in the corridors or lobby. The staffs’s english need to be improved.

This is a great hotel if you'd like to be able to walk around Sanlitun / Soho area. We use it as our home base to explore when we're in Beijing! Good value for location and facilities. The staff are always friendly, and can speak English and are quite competent.

breakfast is fantastic, the room is clean and comfortable and have all the supplies that a traveller needs.

location is not good, too far from metro, expensive to take the taxi to the airport. the water stopper in the hand washing basin of the bathroom is not working, the same problem I had when I stayed there on June 7 & June 8 in other room. My travel consultant has sent me a message and asked the hotel staff to print it to me but I did not receive it .

It was really clean and the robot which helped with delivery of the food was very cool. The view on upper floor was nice. Breakfast was various and fresh. Rooms were spacious.

Very difficult to communicate with the staff because almost no one spoke English. Only one girl was very helpful as she spoke English fluently. Even it is a four star hotel, no food after 10 pm. If you arrive late, be sure to get something before arrival at the hotel. No restorants open after 10 pm.

The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious with a nice-sized bathroom. The breakfast was exceptional, with a great variety of freshly cooked options (ranging from Chinese dumplings and soups to cappuccino and biscuits). The location was also spot on - 15 walk to a very central and well-connected metro station and close to many of the touristic attractions. Also, near the hotel, there are plenty of small family-run restaurants with great food.

We have no negative comments about the hotel.
