Hotel Boston

The Hotel Boston is a lovely little budget hotel tucked right behind the main street (and river) in Karlovy Vary. Was a little tricky to find using GPS but we made it and the staff were very kind. Our room was clean and stayed pretty cool with the windows open. It was also relatively quiet, being off the main drag. There is a walkway between the hotel and the hot springs / collonade (for drinking not soaking keep in mind). Our room did not come with breakfast included but we were able to pay a little extra (6 euros for adults 4 euros for kids) and enjoyed a lovely buffet style breakfast.

The hotel has an elevator but it stops between floors, so stairs are unavoidable (not an issue for us so much but I imagine this would be problematic for certain guests). Also, the parking area was an additional $12 euros each night and a VERY tight fit to get to.

Communication pre arrival was excellent. On the second day of our 8 night stay we received an upgrade to a bigger room. Great location in the middle of the main toursit area. The price is good value in what is an expensive city. Breakfasts were adequate with a reasonable selection of food and drinks to choose from. The kitchen staff were great and quickly replenished items that had been depleted. This hotel has an absolute star in their receptionist Petra, who is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, speaks fluent English and is an all round beautiful person.

Difficult to find. If you arrive via the main promenade there is a small walkway on the left of Goethe's Beer House. Walk up 30 steps and you will see the Boston. View from our room was uninspiring looking out over a carpark and the back of the building in front. The breakfast eating area is very compact, as is the serving area. Bathroom and shower are small. Sometimes during peak periods (early morning), the hot water in the shower was only luke warm. No tea/coffee making facilities. If you want a hot drink you have to get a thermos of hot water from reception, but reception is only open from 8.00am-6.00pm.

Very helpful staff, they answered immediately our questions posed by mail on our way to get there. Everything was well organized. We arrived late but they arranged everything, also the parking, and informed us how to get in. It is a familiar hotel, everything works well. The location is perfect, just going down the stairs in 2 min you are in the city center. It is a silend, friendly, small hotel, perfectly swits the charming character of this wonderful city.

We received too many mails in the 2-week-period until our arrival. 1-2 would have been enough.

Great location, very quick walk to the main 'tourist' centre of town. Reception staff very friendly, spoke English and gave lots of tips and recommendations on restaurants and attractions. Room was clean and comfortable with space to store bags.

Parking was slightly confusing to find, have to drive down narrow streets. Room needed darker curtains to block out the light. Room didn't really have hot water in the evening or in the morning, only luke warm. We showered at the thermal pools facility though so this wasn't a big deal.

Our stay at Hotel Boston was really wonderful. Before our arrival we got a very good description on how to get to the hotel and where to park - also a description on how to pick up our keys if the reception is not open. We traveled with our dog and it was absolutley no problem for the staff. The staff was very polite, helpful and spoke perfect german which was a nice little plus. Our room was very clean and cosy. The location of the hotel was just a couple steps away from the "centre" and even tho it was right next to it, it was super quiet.

Even thou the breakfast options were vast - the room where the breakfast was served was very small. Not all the guests could eat at the same time. It`s not a really big deal but if you are in a hurry in the morning this could be a problem.

Staff was very nice, it is what you expect for that price range, I can't complain. The location is very good and parking just outside was very nice. It is a small comfortable hotel and I would definitely recommend it for a short stay in Karlovy Vary. It has everything you need.

Hotel just needs some small improvements. It is missing modern stuff and accessories that are just not hard to get but need some attention to details from the owners. Also, the old look could get an renovation.

It ticked all our boxes. Comfortable room with a beautiful view, parking, dog friendly, warm welcoming staff, good coffee and great value for money. Breakfast not ideal for vegans but we still managed to get fed (fruit, vegetables, bread, jam, coffee).

Poor sound isolation between the two top floors. Family with small children stayed in the room above ours and you could hear every single step and bangs as if the roof was to come down any minute. Same goes for the sound from shower and toilet.

The woman at the front desk was SO NICE. We were arriving a few minutes after 6pm, and she stayed a late to let us check-in and get the keys in person, even finding us a parking spot. She was a delight. The rest of the hotel was about as expected – great location, cheap, average room – but it was really her that made our very brief one night here an actually nice experience. Give her some kind of award.

Unclear why the bed linens were so rough and scratchy. Also unclear why the shower barely drained. But we're not fussy people, we enjoyed our stay a lot.

Our hotel was just few steps away from the main promenade and the breakfast was pretty good (continental), the mansarde rom was big, comfy and quiet. It was for the first time in Karlovy Vary and we didn't quite understand how few parking space is available for each hotel. The staff was kind enough to let us park at the hotel 2 hours extra, but it didn't mention any money, that's why we got both frustrated, me - for not knowing (my mistake I guess because I didn't read all the infos from the site), him - for having a frustrated client. But everything turned off to be ok!

The comunication about the parking fee could be a bit improved, I didn't like the last interaction with the staff, but I think it was mostly my mistake!

Fantastic location, great value for money, kids were even FOC althought they had their beds, very , very kind staff, over the phone as we arrived after the hours. Dream place if you want to be in a very poch resort but spend modest money for accommodation.

We had a bit of a problem finding the hotel , although CENTRALLY located it is not marked well how to get to it.
