Hotel Palacky

Very nice property overlooking the promenade, which made for excellent viewing. Enormous room and bed with comfy pillows and a large, well-equipped bathroom. Good breakfast and perfect location for exploring the beauty of Karlovy Vary.

Unfortunately, there is no air-conditioning so we had to open all the windows and balcony door for air during the night. And, since the promenade was right below our room, we heard every sound from below.

Price is really cheap. Located just 5 min away by walk from Diana funicular.

Since the price is really cheap, can't really expect too much. The view from the window is not good. The bed is as hard as bunk bed from a dormitory. The soap dispenser in the shower is completely empty. The building and furnitures are both very old. Since the building is old, after I showered, the water dripped for the whole night.

This is a standard Czech copy-pasted hotel with Rohliks on the breakfast that you can find in any Czech city. The old renovated building, classic Czech stuff that is not very interested in you as a client in general (this is not that hotel's problem, but the general problem of the whole Czech hospitality industry), and basic breakfast. For this price, it can be considered a good choice and for me personally, the best parts of that travel experience were terrace with a city view and the location itself. You can reach all KV attractions by walk when you live here.

A beautiful historical building. The facility is very clean and comfortable. Free wifi. The bathroom had everything you need. The hotel is in the center of the city, in the main street, despite that, a very quiet and pleasant street. The room is nicely furnished and has all the basic facilities.

The location of the hotel on the Corso of Karlovy Vary, the spaciousness of the room and the nice breakfast.

The absence of a full-time receptionist. If the reception is not staffed, you have to call by phone which was not clearly shown. The receptionist desk was covered with many placards in the Czech language and it was easy to miss the placard with the phone of the receptionist on duty.

All went well; last-minute mobile only booking. As no info has been observed before, was surprised that parking is an issue in this part of the town. However, the ever-kind receptionist helped to find one place, which actually belonged to the hotel- just next to the river-bank. It came handy, being with a motorbike, with different luggages.

The receptionist was very helpful, rather more so than usual, and the hotel itself is in a good location to experience the city while being away from the main tourist crowds.

The room showed its age a bit, but this was not bad. The ventilator in the bathroom could not be turned off and constantly made a rather pervasive droning sound.

The brekfast was fine but i'd be better if the hotel offer more variaty. The location is perfect. The employes are nice.

The clean of the room was very poor. The room was very dusty and didn't clean everyday.

Location and staff

We got a good deal for this place.. This was my first visit to Karlovy Vary.. This place is just on the river and not more than 30 minutes walk from main bus terminal.. But the whole walk is so beautiful that you won't mind it. Hotel is clean with nice staff.. Its an old property so be ready for decor and furniture accordingly but it is nice.. Breakfast is limited but fits with the deal.

Everything was as expected. Building is old and so was the furniture. But everything was functional and clean. Good value for the money payed.

Maybe breakfast options could be a bit more varied. For a few nights it might be ok but for a longer stay it will get a bit repetitive. Their key fobs are huge so the keys can't even fit in your pocket.
