Hôtel Chaplain Paris Rive Gauche

The location and the staff were really good.

The room was tired and the bathroom facilities weren’t as good as expected - there were black marks on the bathroom drapes, the door handle was broken and the taps were leaky.

Hotel was a terrific place to stay. Great location with all u needed nearby to have breakfast, lunch or dinners. The room was very comfortable and they kept it so clean all thru our stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and so helpful with the smallest details to the largest ones. Especially helpful in assisting with understanding the metro subway and trains. They recommended terrific restaurants, guided us on site seeing and made our vacation extra enjoyable. The daily soft drinks in our room and the coffee machine in the lobby were a terrific plus that added to our stay there and kept us hydrated. We highly recommend the Hotel Chaplain!!

Breakfast was 8 out of 10 and they constantly replenished the breakfast buffet. The location was perfect and walking distance to everywhere in the Left Bank.

The shower door seal was not completely water-tight, and if one takes a shower, some water spills out onto the bathroom floor outside of the shower stall. I had to plug the gap with extra towels on the floor. I reported this on the first day and even after 5 days, this was not resolved. I also reported that the vent in the bathroom had fallen off, which I noticed immediately on check-in. It was fixed on the 3rd day of my stay. Despite these I would return and stay at this hotel, because of the location.

The front staff were extremely helpful! They took care of all our needs. Especially Jean-Baptiste and Alejandro. The breakfast was delicious!

The location is fantastic - plenty of bistros, creperies, bars and shops next door and jardin au Luxembourg and st Sulpice 5 mins walk away. Yet it is very quiet and on a side street that is peaceful. Staff were all very friendly and 24/7 reception. Our room was a good size, clean, comfy bed and tea making facilities and free snacks/water too, also a free coffee machine in reception. Also had air conditioning which is a huge bonus in the heat. Wifi worked well and we had everything we needed. Will definitely stay here again!

Nothing we did not like

The staff was amazing! they were kind and warm and funny and SO informative. They made us feel at home immediately. the breakfast was perfect with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, croissants - healthy choices as well as incredibly great less healthy options. it is in a great area with 2 metros that can take you most places or you can just walk a mile to 1.3 miles to the Musée D’ Orsy, Louve, Notre Dame etc. The room was beautiful (small as all hotel rooms in Paris are) but smart with an adorable tiny balcony to have your cappuccino on each morning. They have free cappuccinos and lattes 24/7. we stayed 4 days and will definitely come back!

The stuff was very friendly and nice. Doing their best to help, give directions and make us feel welcome. Liked 27/7 open reception. It was very helpful when we returned back from the city at 3 am. :) Breakfasts were amazing. The choice was not very big, but everything was fresh and tasty. Great location for having dinners and going out. Next to very center. Just wonderful!

At our last day of stay, we came downstairs for breakfast half an hour before the end of it and almost all food was gone and I had to notify the stuff about it. They fixed everything in the next 10 minutes or so, but I would just expect that they would be checking for availability of food and drinks from time to time, not to make guests wait. And also would appreciate cleaning tables faster after the guests left. The hall of the hotel is very cosy, but not when you have trash sitting all over the tables for 20 minutes without being cleaned quickly. That was the only little bump ;)

Well received by friendly staff who made every effort to speak English (even if that was not necessary). The hotel is very clean, well maintained and room was of a decent size for this area of Paris where many hotels have characteristically smaller rooms. Overall, a very good venue and great location for access to restaurants, Metro, Gare de Montparnasse, etc.

As a Genius 2 member, I understood breakfast was included but the hotel said otherwise. At €12 per head for a small bagged breakfast, I feel it is overpriced and would have sought a different option if I had known it was an extra. Happily we reached a compromise and I paid for just one breakfast, but it was an interesting lesson. Lack of clarity on breakfast arrangement is disappointing.

The rooms were comfortable snd bathrooms had all the amenities. Rooms although small were well designed. We loved our stay. The staff are just super! Shout out to Jean-Baptiste for all your help. Merci beaucoup ! The lovely ladies ( sorry didn't get your names) in the evening were wonderful aussi.

Not a lot to dislike. Would have be nicer to have a better view perhaps.

The room was well maintained throughout our stay by the housekeeping staff. The location is near several Metro stations which makes getting around the city very easy. The continental breakfast is excellent as well as the service. The hotel staff is very attentive and guests receive personalized service. Many restaurants are within easy walking distance.
