Hôtel Sainte-Beuve

Upon completion of booking, I asked for an early check in, which we were lucky enough to get. I also inquired about airport pick up, Abdel was incredibly helpful on this matter, he called within 10 minutes of my request, pick up was arranged, and a driver met us at the airport. The staff was wonderful, they know who their guests are, and that makes it very personable. The rooms were very comfortable, not the largest of rooms, we took the twin beds, but this is Paris, I don’t think any hotel rooms are extremely large for that price point. You have the option for breakfast in the morning, coffee is always available in the lobby. If you need arrangements to return to the airport ( it’s cheaper that coming) they will make arrangements for you, they’re very good with timing , traffic can be hectic. It’ll also give you enough time to navigate check in, passport control, security etc. Please give yourself enough time.

We had to walk a little farther than expected to get to the tourist sites, but the Uber prices were not that bad. Also, the metro is not too difficult to handle.

We LOVE in this hotel and always stay here when coming to Paris. The value for money is just great as you won't normally get this level of service and comfort for such price in Paris. Staff are super friendly and professional and they always give great, concierge-level advice. Rooms and lobby are decorated with so much taste and attention to detail. The location is super convenient, close to the best restaurants, Jardin du Luxembourg and nice shopping areas yet away from the tourist crowds.

This may sound stupid, but the only thing we really dislike is the smell of the shower gel :)

Ideal location near classy rue Vavin, yet the room was very quiet and we slept really well. Welcoming and available staff. Good quality breakfast (esp. grapefruit, orange juice, coffee, muesli). Stylish lobby to have a tea in the evening.

Beware the new increased tourist tax (we paid 65€ for two), which was added at the end (apparently the city of Paris is squeezing everyone to fund the Olympics). Not the hotel's fault, but perhaps their responsibility to advertise is more clearly.

An ideal location, both for walking and for using the metro. Incredibly friendly staff, cleanliness and comfort in the hotel. There is an absolute feeling that you are genuinely welcome here. A good "typical" French breakfast - with croissants, coffee, yogurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. I really liked the style of this hotel: both ancient and romantic and modern at the same time. I have stayed in various hotels in Paris, but this one was more desirable than all the others in terms of all criteria. On occasion, I will come back again and recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to spend magical days in Paris without unexpected troubles. The offer of a free transfer from the airport to the hotel on the day of arrival from Booking was extremely nice !!!

There is no such thing

Lovely rooms that are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. The hotel was perfectly located for lovely walks in the Jardín du Luxembourg and all the Paris sights. We loved the balcony where we could enjoy our own breakfast.

The breakfast was quite expensive for what it was. After the first morning, we bought our own. Worth buying your own bread and pastries from the local boulangerie and cheese, jam from the local supermarket round the corner and enjoying on your balcony!

Wonderful, helpful staff always patient and willing to help with questions or requests. Beautiful, typical french boutique hotel. Loved having the full window that opens to get a view and feel of the street and neighnorhood. Very homey feel.

Room was quite small, but that is often typical of older french hotels, so to be expected. Would be wonderful if breakfast was included in order to increase value of the stay, and/or if there was a coffee maker in the room.

Although small for two friends, we made it work! The room was very charming and clean with a modern and lovely bathroom. We ordered room service breakfast for 2 out of the 4 nights we stayed there and it was very good. Excellent croissants! Excellent coffee! Excellent cappuccinos! The staff was wonderful! All and all a top notch stay! We would highly recommend!

Nothing really....we were very pleased.

Everything about this hotel is warm and friendly. We enjoyed every second of our five-night stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and always kind. The room was sunny. The colors and atmosphere were cozy without being claustrophobic. There was a lot of attention to quality detail, rather than clutter. Breakfast was lovely. Great location. Well done. My daughter was sick the final day and night, and we didn't even mind staying in the room all day, because the room was just so welcoming. We will definitely be returning.

Attic room was good size and liked that there was a passage way to access the bathroom. All very clean, with friendly staff. Staff were also very responsive - a handle to the toilet door became loose and smashed to the floor, this was replaced while we were out on the same day.

Some of the plug sockets did not work and we had to rearrange a coffee machine and light to find a socket that did work. This could have been sorted out before we arrived.

As a back-pack trip, the location was good to walk from the metro station. We walked around a lot, and visited a few restaurants nearby too. We liked quiet neighborhood, a convenient store nearby, and the Korean restaurant just across the hotel was amazing. The hotel room itself was cozy and clean, well decorated. I personally loved the bathroom decor.

The breakfast was a little disappointing, we expected better bread and juice for a breakfast in France. All staffs were super kind, but the breakfast service was not very satisfactory. I would revisit the hotel for another trip in Paris, but I would rather go for a local breakfast outside the hotel.
