Hotel Geoffroy Marie Opéra

This hotel exceeded our expectations. We thought it might not be great at booking but didn’t mind since we would be out most of the time. After our stay, I can safely say it was one of the most comfortable and cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. The tiled floors meant everything was really clean, walls newly painted, furniture well maintained, they even changed the bed side lights for usb insert so we didn’t even need to use our wall adapter. They asked if they could make the change after we left on one of the days, which was fine with us. Hotel staff were really friendly. Bed comfortable and clean. There was a lift and the location was perfect with a supermarket on the same street. Very close to the metro and walking distance to lots of attractions and food places.

Bathroom slightly outdated and small which is expected with the price but still very clean and good water pressure in the shower. Walls are thin but this didn’t bother us as all neighbours were respectable and quiet and we’re not light sleepers.

Excellent value; clean, well serviced room of a good size; Excellent staff, had a great welcome on arrival. We had a portable air conditioning unit, which was loud but without it we wouldn’t have been able to sleep on our first night - one can always wear ear plugs! I can’t say enough how excellent the location is in itself - huge choice of places to eat out with excellent boulangeries nearby; great arcade with shops and restaurants nearby; two metro stations within a short distance- we made good use of Cadet station and metro line 7.

Nothing.

The location of the hotel is the best thing, very close to metro, store, bakery, coffeshop, bars, etc. And even close to the center if you like to walk. Rooms are tidy and neat, bathroom is nice, clean and new. You have a set to make your own coffe in the room. Small refrigerator. Bed is good, there's a TV in the room, nice big windows overlooking the cute parisian street. Great large curtains to darken it overnight. There is a small elevator for higher floors. Easy way to get in and out of the hotel.

Just a little dusty closet and shelves. And the drain of the sink is a little clogged.

The hotel has a great location. Nearby you can find small markets, restaurants and cafés. The metro entrance is a short walk away. People are friendly and helpfull. There is no fan or air conditioning in the room, but they provide it for you if it is hot. The bedroon and bathroom have good size. It's all very clean. Breakfast doesn't have a lot of variety but it's quite good, and includes espresso coffee. The hotel has an elevator, which is a great convenience. It was a great choice for me. It was very easy to reach most address in the center of the village on foot or after a few metro stops.

The portable air conditioner is a little noisy, but it was not a problem for me because the noise is similar to that of the air conditioner and the result was good in terms of temperature.

The room was quite spacious compared to our other accommodations at a similar price in Paris. There was an air conditioner, which was a bonus on hot summer days and nights, as it allowed us to close the window and keep out street noise. There is a lift for luggage and people who have trouble with stairs, which is great. The manager was delightful, funny, and helpful.  We were able to walk around much of the city from this location, and it was easy to get to public transportation as well. Lots of cafés, restaurants, and daily necessities available within a few short blocks, but located on a relatively quiet, small street. 

The bathroom had a funny smell, maybe the plumbing wasn’t venting properly. The breakfast and ambience in the community space were nothing to write home about. However, I was surprised to find that they offered us breakfast for free one morning, so I can’t complain! 

We were really pleasantly surprised by this hotel after reading some bad reviews.. we only stayed here one night but it was everything you would need. The room was clean, had a brilliant AC unit as the weather was very hot in Paris, there was a fridge with water, the tv was signed into a guest account on all streaming services & the man at reception was very helpful and really funny. He set out a summer seat for us outside the hotel & offered us coffee as we waited on our taxi

The hotel is slightly far from tourist sights eg Eiffel Tower.. around a 30 mins taxi

A simple, clean room with a kettle for tea and coffee, a minifridge for convenience (not stocked), a new mattress and a new shower in the bathroom. Street-view onto a typical Parisian street, and a glimpse of golden art deco front of the Folies Bergère theatre at the end of the street. Very central, close to several metro stations, and 3 minutes walk from the legendary Bouillon Chartier restaurant. For central Paris, this was a very reasonably priced room in a great location. The hotel feels a little old-fashioned, but it's been updated where it counts (good mattress, new shower). It's a no-frills but pleasant option that I would definitely book again.

No real cons, but a couple of things to note: - the rooms have tiled floors. we brought slippers in our luggage to wear in the room for comfort. - you receive one key for the room with a fob for the front door. if there is more than one of you and you split up, then one if you will have to rely on the doorman to let you in. the door is locked all day, and you need to be buzzed in. the reception closes at 11pm. this is a little inconvenient, but it can be seen as a security feature. - hot food takeaway is currently not allowed in the rooms.

Issac was great ….very helpful,a great sense of humour, super helpful ….would go back to his hotel because of him… Fantastic position, close to everything,walk to most of Paris attractions and the many eateries….

Needed better quality linen, towels etc, very expensive for Australians against the Euro .. for the amount of money we paid for 9 nights , the linen , towels etc and the breakfast should be of a high standard….felt ripped off….

The staff was very friendly and forthcoming, I had some nice talks with them and when there was a problem with flushing the toilette, it was solved after only ten minutes! The hotel is located near many metro and bus stations and is also next to busy roads with a lot of restaurants, cafès and other shops. I appreciated the elevator and the room was super clean as well. All in all I really liked the whole atmosphere, I'll come back for sure.

My stay was in the beginning of October and the heater unfortunately wasn't working. But I immediately got two extra blankets from the staff when I asked about it and the wheater wasn't that cold, so it was okay after all!

I liked the cosy room which was oriented towards the courtyard and so quite silent even i chose the place for its lively surrounding. Its a good location for exploring the city by walking. the center isnt far, also montmartre. there are many great shops (authentic french patissiere and grocery/ good restaurants/ theatres) nearby. The owner knows a lot about history and arts. Thankyou for the hospitality!
