Maison Axel Opéra

We had one of the rooms that was 2 levels with an attic, so had a nice balcony that we could sit outside. The main bedroom was upstairs so did get quite hot, but we had a window and air con so it was fine. There was a single bed down, with a bathroom. It was perfect for 3 people. Loved the location of this hotel, with so many restaurants and cafes located nearby. Perfect to walk to "Grands Boulevard" metro station and 15 mins walk to Palais Garnier and Galleries Lafayette. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel could not pre-book a taxi to take us to the Gare de East station early in the morning. They said the taxi companies did not have any available. So we had to get an uber on the morning. The elevator was pretty tiny, but that is standard for hotels in Paris.

Maison Axel Opera in Paris was the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. The room was amazing, clean and spacious. The hotel is very well situated. The breakfast is excellent and they provide 24 hour coffee and hot chocolate in the hotel lobby. But the most amazing part of the hotel is the staff. Everyone that works there is amazing, they are so hospitable and make you feel so welcome. The service at the front desk, the room cleaning service, and the service at the breakfast are all outstanding 👌. At the front desk there is Marius, Sophie, Elena, Laeticia and the great director Frédéric. Then there is Malha who cleaned my room and the one and only, fantastic and sweet Marie who serves the breakfast with all her heart.I will always choose Maison Axel Opera when I visit Paris.

We reserved 2 rooms. Rooms were clean, small but clean. One of our rooms, room 502 didn't have any place to hang towels in the bathroom. Also, in that same room, A/C-heat is placed just in front the bed, and it was uncomfortable to have air coming out directly to our face all night. Room 501 was smaller but with a better set up. Barroom has wall hangers for towels.

The elevator is not a proper elevator as is very old and very small. Up to 2 people can fit it. so ti was sometimes unconvenient when more guests need to use it as we had to wait in line to use it. The front people in the morning were great and very nice. The front desk person at night, was not that nice. We did ask for some restaurants suggestions on the first night we arrived he proposed one with 2.5 review over 5. We asked for different options and he didn't have other alternatives. Strange as we went out and the main street across the hotel was filled with life and restaurants one after other...sad the hotel had only one bad option for their clients.

Very nice little hotel right next to the opera and 5min walking from Place Vendôme, 10min from Louvre, etc. Had an upgrade to a triple room in the first floor (101) which was really nice and - uncommon for Paris - quite spaceous. Rain shower and sufficient water pressure is also not a given... Breakfast was OK, now overwhelming but various types of bread, 3 types of juice (not freshly squeezed), good coffee, some cheeses and cold cuts, yoghurts, cereals, and an egg boiling station. No egg dishes on request though. Didn't bother me at all however.

Good breakfast, coffee machine, kettle in the room. Comfortable bed. Good wifi. The hotel is newly refurbished, so the room looked nice and was comfortable. The superior room is reasonable size for Paris (fine for 1 person for sure). Despite having windows to the street, I could here no noise from the outside (but unfortunately, there was noise from the corridor and other rooms). Check in and check out was quick.

The soundproofing was great on the outer windows, but I could hear noises from other rooms and the corridor. The worst was a nearly permanent clicking sound from the motion sensor in the corridor, just outside my door. The bathroom was not cleaned very well on the first day.

This hotel was a great find during a last minute overnight stay in Paris. The rooms are small, but tastefully furnished, modern and super clean. If you take into account the location (very central in a beautiful neighborhood) and the extremely reasonable price, you be hard pushed to find something better. Highly recommended.

A small issue, no place to hang your towels in the bathroom!

Hotel was in a good location - 20 minutes walk from Gare du Nord and had lots of restaurants nearby. It was safe, quiet and secure and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was free for kids (but 12 Euros for adults which was definitely expensive for what it was). The staff were really helpful and stored our luggage as we had a late train back.

Our triple room was quite small, with stairs up to the double bed which was a pain. The breakfast was ok. The lift was *tiny* - only 2 people could fit at once. There was a mix up with our payment and they claimed we hadn't paid when we had through booking.com but booking.com did refund us very quickly. There is no restaurant in the hotel (although there are a few close by).

Hotel is very well placed to get around to all popular areas and attractions - 20 minute walk to Louvre one way and Montmartre in the other direction. Stayed in the Junior Suite which had a lovely and very sizeable outdoor terrace, so was a nice spot to have a cup of tea in the mornings before setting out for the day! Room was split over two floors, with a double upstairs and a single downstairs with the Terrace. Plenty of hanging space in both parts of the room, good wifi and complementary drinks in the lobby. Quite small lift, but very handy to have as hotel is over 7 floors. Overall an excellent stay!

The family room was great and the location was perfect, close to the metro and in the heart of Paris. The beds were super comfortable and it was lovely having a balcony.

There was no fridge which when you have a family is really helpful and the fire alarm went off at 6am and as we were coming down the stairs they said there’s no fire you can go back to bed and no information was issued to guests about the incident. Some other guests were still standing outside waiting to come back in when we were back in our room.

Location was just fantastic! The staff very nice and helpful with suggestions. Great hotel especially for short trips.

The room is quite small and the elevator was for 2 people max. it was difficult to all fit in the elevator especially when checking in with luggage and almost impossible to get in the elevator right away.
