The Residence Aiolou Suites & SPA

The place is amazing with excellent & charming decoration, comfy bed, nice shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they welcomed us with a bottle of fizzy wine. The location couldn't be better to explore the historic city centre of Athens. High recommend this place.

There is no lift but the staff is more than happy to carry your luggages and bring you whatever you want in your room. There is no breakfast area but you can choose to have your breakfast in your room (comes in a well presented basket and it is very nice) or get a voucher for a nice stylish coffee shop (in our case service wasn't the best but I have visited the place in the past and they were really good so I think it was just this time). Generally we liked the place a lot.

They made me feel extremely comfortable as a solo woman, consistently went the extra mile to make my stay a success and make me feel welcome. Philip was particularly helpful giving me all the pointers for the best sights in Athens and carrying my bag for me - give that man a raise, he is a star! The entire team were warm and supportive, the room is gorgeous, and I had a surprise view of the Acropolis from my balcony. I was in heaven staying here.

I liked everything! The staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming. The room was excellent. The location couldn’t be better, with a side view of the Parthenon. The hotel also has amazing smart features for accessing the building and the room. I also received a complementary bottle of Prosecco and a bottle of Greek olive oil. I will definitely be coming back every time I’m in Athens!

The hotel location was great; it was centrally located with everything you’d want to see in Athens within walking distance. The staff were also super friendly and helpful during our stay. The rooms were also very comfortable and clean with everything you need. There were even spa services at a great price but we unfortunately didn’t have the time to book anything. Overall I think this hotel was a really great value for the price and I would definitely return again!

The app to check in was a bit finicky sometimes because there were no physical keys and so it sometimes took a few tries to work.

The staff was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Our room was large, beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The hotel is in the best location! The Monastiraki and Plaka neighborhoods are right out the front door. You can easily walk to most of the major historic sites, including the Acropolis and Parthenon. The surrounding area is full of wonderful restaurants and shops. We felt so incredibly welcome! We had a rental car and were able to park in a nearby garage. Everything exceeded our expectations! Highly recommend!

Amazing staff, very friendly, very courteous and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was spotlessly clean, just a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. Would happily stay here again. Very central, but quiet also. We loved the balcony with views of the Acropolis (Room 601).

Breakfasts. Hot food was never hot, quite cold actually. No variety and limited choice. Luke warm tea and coffee. Shower temperature never constant varied from freezing cold to very hot and sometimes, just right. Not brilliant at all.

The rooms are beautiful, very large, comfortable in every way. Beautifully decorated. Fantastic breakfast for all tastes (though tea and coffee is lukewarm). The location is the best! Thr staff are so very friendly and everywhere is spotless and beautiful. We had a terrace and while it didn’t have a view, we loved it all the same. We walked all over Athens and this Hotel is exceptional for Athens!

The hotel was very new and stylishly designed. The location was very central and the employees were very attentive and friendly. Also, their help with late check-out and the gift they gave when leaving were also very nice.

The hotel has two entrances, some rooms can be accessed from the main entrance, while others can be accessed by opening the outer door and room door via an application. We found this a bit out of place and confusing at first. Also, there is no elevator in the building, which can be annoying if your suitcase is heavy and you stay on the upper floors.

The location of the hotel is perfect, close to metro and the old town. We were able to walk to the sites, close to lovely restaurants, everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. The staff were superb, Kalina was so welcoming and gave us great guidance.I also used the spa, fabulous massage , couldn’t recommend it enough after having been out and about all day. Breakfast was good too,yummy scrambled eggs and beautiful fresh orange juice. I’d happily stay here again but just be aware that the “residence” doesn’t have a lift and the marble stairs are steep!

You just have to be careful as you could take a wrong turn and like all big cities social challenges mean that you just need to have your wits about you at all times.
