Super-helpful staff. In all departments. Happy to give local information. The rooftop bar had great views including the Acropolis, which at night is a must-see. The breakfast had plenty of choice and the ingredients were of a good standard and better than other hotels we stayed at in Greece. The room was quite small, but finished to a high standard and was comfortable.

The bathroom was tiny, and the room quite small. No kettle in the room (i think that is usual in Greece) but we would have appreciated one. Having said that, it was definitely a good place to stay and was in the heart of things.

I have stayed several times now at The Plaka hotel. I love the location, so centrally located, it feels like it is right in the middle of the activity going on, and my room had a view of the Acropolis. The size of the room is more than adequate and better still there are 2 lifts. If you know much about accommodation in Athens, you will know what a bonus this is. The view from the rooftop bar is sensational, the drinks and food that you can have whilst gazing at the incredible view are great. The hotel is extremely clean. This hotel is just a fabulous choice when staying in Athens. The staff are exceptional. For me it was even more important as I broke my ankle in Milos and had to be sent back from the islands to Athens for ankle surgery. After leaving the hospital I went back to The Plaka to recuperate for a week. I was on my own and it was a very challenging time. The staff were incredibly kind and caring. They went out of their way to make me feel safe and secure. They checked in on me, they brought the essentials to me. They organised transportation for hospital visits, as well as a doctor to come and see me when I was having some concerns. I have never felt so well cared for and this made this first week of mending so much more successful. I cannot speak more highly of this hotel, but particularly it’s staff. I will be forever grateful.

We booked a room with a view of the Acropolis and we were not disappointed! Any time spent in the room was definitely not wasted time - the view was better than from any restaurant, cafe or other landmark. (They have a rooftop bar/restaurant with same view for those who do not book a room with a view). The only complaint my son would have is that I insisted on sleeping with the curtains (blockout by the way, so you do get a good sleep if you close them) open, so that I could fall asleep with the night view and wake up to sunrise over the Acropolis. Location is very close to everything (next to Plaka, 5-10mins walk to Syntagma square), so easy to pop back to hotel for a rest. Breakfast had a really good selection for everyone too. The reception staff were outstanding (especially Tatiana and Eva). They were professional and friendly, and really engaged with clients. They also have a great process whereby reception staff go round to have a quick chat with everyone at breakfast, to ask how the stay is going or discuss checkout etc, which adds to the friendly atmosphere, as you get to know them a little better than when they are busy at reception. I am sure this process saves a lot of time dealing with enquiries etc there and then, rather than at the actual reception itself during high season. I would highly recommend this hotel, and as I will be returning to Athens reasonably frequently, I will not be looking any further. The only issue is get in and book early. The rooms with a view are so amazing that they get booked out quickly.

It's in a great location, the bed was comfy, decent breakfast and friendly staff. It did everything we needed after a very late arrival. The roof terrace is fantastic though we didn't have chance to have a drink there.

For a nice hotel, the sound isolation could really be better especially between rooms. Our neighbour was truly dedicated to snoring, and we could hear it all.

Fantastic location. Absolutely perfect room with a little lounge so we had loads of space. The bed was so comfortable that we slept when normally the first nights in a hotel can be a struggle. The rain shower was great too. All the staff were lovely and it was so clean- thank you to housekeeping for keeping our room spotless! Roof top bar was lovely too - we enjoyed sitting and watching the sunset.

Breakfast was not our cup of tea. Squashed tables and not much choice. The coffee was disgusting. So we explored outside of the hotel instead and had some lovely meals. Shame the bar only has a couple of tables and opens at 6. Would be lovely in an afternoon!

Excellent boutique hotel located in the Plaka area of Athens. Prior reviews were very accurate. The hotel was clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel rooms are on the smaller side, but consistent with my experience with boutique hotels in Europe. It was in walking distance to major site seeing areas in Athens. Excellent restaurants no matter what direction you walked in. Hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful. A shout out to Agnes, who assisted with arranging transportation to and from the airport, and also arranging a small surprise for my son and his new wife upon arrival. Shout out to Eva, who greeted us each day in the breakfast room. Her role was to assist guests by providing information about the city, answer tourist questions, to educate about history or made suggestions. Kudos to management for creating a role like that. Included breakfast was buffet style, eggs, bacon, cereals, fruit, pastries, and yogurts. The roof top bar/restaurant was a phenomenal place to chill and have a drink. The Acropolis view is awesome and sitting there at sunset was just quite special.

Interestingly, the walls of the room are on the thin side. We had a room next to our son and daughter-in-law‘s. Due to the ventilation in our bathroom it shared ventilation with their room somehow and so you could talk to them from our bathroom and hear each others conversations. It would not prevent me from staying there in the future.

Loved my stay at the Plaka Hotel. Staff were wonderful. My room had the most amazing Acropolis view, and I didn't want to close the curtains at night. Did some great photography from the upper terrace as well. The location was perfect with lots of outdoor cafes and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was scrumptious and had a lot of variety. A very kind staff woman at the desk helped me get a taxi from the street to the train station. I highly recommend it.

There was nothing to dislike.

The hotel is in a great central location walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit. we got the bus from the airport which stops just over a 5 minute walk away. The staff were wonderful especially Eva who would always chat at breakfast to check if we needed anything or any information for the day. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection. Coffee was very good. Room was large and we had a street view. We didn’t find noise a problem. We did find you could here people in the next room due to the linked ventilation. But this wasn’t very often and not really an issue.

It would be good to have dressing table with a mirror and power socket. As others have said the shower screen doesn’t work very well. A curtain would be better.

We had two connecting rooms. I really appreciated this since we usually stay all 4 in one room (2 adults, 2 kids), so having them connecting made it easier. We didn't have the key to open the connecting doors at first, and before we even thought to go asking about it, someone was up there to give us the key. The staff was really helpful, hotel was in a good location for things we wanted to see, the hotel restaurant was great, and breakfast was really good also. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Really can't think of anything negative about this property.

The location of this hotel simply cannot be beat! You are minutes walking distance away from so many tourist districts and historical sites. The rooms are small, but have everything and more to make your stay comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and had a excellent variety of choices. We had an early checkout and they opened up breakfast for anyone leaving early. That was a nice bonus!

The shower ledge was not high enough to keep all the water drainage from leaking out into the rest of the bathroom. A towel placed on the floor by the shower door was drenched by the time you finished showering.
