Attalos Hotel

Clean, a great location with accommodating staff. Inadvertantly booked a a small room at the rear of the property and staff were able to transfer us to a balcony room overlooking Athinas Street for the next few nights. It's our 'go to' hotel for when we first arrive into Athens and our 8th stay over the last few years. Check in, drop the bags, cross the road to the bank atm get some cash, then it's a gyros virtually 20 metres away, a walk through Psiri or Monastiraki, back to the hotel for a cocktail on the rooftop bar, then bed.

Perfect location to explore everything around Acropolis. Warmly greeted when we arrived by a wonderful gentleman who took extra time to show us map of Athens and how to get to places we were interested in. Appreciated our balcony view of Acropolis/Parthenon, as well well as rooftop balcony. Room was spacious enough for both of us. Breakfast was outstanding, and included a selection of hot foods. All staff we encountered were warm, personable and professional. Will definitely stay here again if we have opportunity to return to Athens.

If you you expect opulence or 5 star modern accom and room service this is not the place for you. Attelos is just you run of the mill hotel, nothing special, no silver service, no big elevators or concierge. It’s not for you, don’t demand it or expect it! Otherwise Attelos is 100m from the AthInas St exit of the Monistiraki Metro Station. It has a bank ATM across the road together with a good coffee shop. It’s 100m from Ermou Street and Monistiraki Square. Omonia Square is a 10 minute walk. The rooms an bathrooms are basic. But it’s spotlessly clean with room service every day with clean towels, a made bed. We had a balcony with a view of the Parthenon (Acropolis). The roof top bar with views of the Parthenon with a great barkeep and realistic prices. The staff were lovely. Finally breakfast was typical Greece with great yoghurt, honey, fruit, ham, cheese and tomato even bacon and scrambled eggs. Please don’t ask for any special ‘sunny side up’ eggs or ask for breakfast to be delivered to your room (it happened while we were there and the customers we very annoyed that the staff couldn’t accomodate their demands) We are booked in again at the end of August for a night and have absolutely no intention of changing hotels. We have transited through Athens many times over the last 10 years and stayed at far more upmarket hotels but this will be our new regular.

I’ve never seen a cleaner hotel ! absolutely outstanding! great location and a nice extra was the roof bar with a nice view . the bartender Cristos ( don’t know if it’s spell right ) was amazing with nice advise about Athens and super hospitality! good job man !

Good clean hotel in convenient location. Nice balcony with Acropolis view. Location close to many restaurants and cafes within walking distance to central locations and hop on hop off bus. Breakfast included.

We were in Athens for literally one night from the return of a Mediterranean cruise. I had no real expectations when booking the hotel, because I became overwhelmed during my search, however the "location" beat my expectations. If you are looking for a hotel with a PRIME location in Athens, Center city, then this is the hotel. The rooftop is UNDER RATED. The views were EVERYTHING. I didn't even go to the Acropolis because I had the perfect view. The receptionist was extremely helpful to point us to the great shopping area, great food area, pharmacy for COVID testing needed for USA, tour recommendations, etc. The rooms were actually very comfortable, I was suspicious about the twin beds, but they put it together to make one bed so it's very comfortable. The olive oil soaps in the room smelled so good. Breakfast was 9 euro's, but it was a lovely spread, a good value. There also was an area in their basement to store your luggage in the event you arrive early. The hotel worked hard to get us an early check in time of noon, that was really lovely of them. I will return to this hotel and highly recommend to anyone looking for the hotel with the perfect location.

I was on the 6th floor and the room and bathroom were top notch but smaller than in the USA. You will live out of your suitcase. A bonus is the rooftop lounge with spectacular views of the Acropolis. Location is 2 blocks from the Plaka and convenient to the metro.

Cigarette and cigar smoking is very prevalent in Athens. Even on the rooftop deck it could be overwhelming. It would be nice to divide the smoking from non-smoking areas in this space. Of course, no smoking was permitted in rooms or indoors.

Wonderful hotel in every way. Perfect location in a lively part of the town. Great views of the Acropolis from the room balcony and also from the charming roof-top bar. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was well maintained and had everything we needed. The breakfast was great, offering a good choice, including Greek breakfast. The staff were very professional and friendly. Pleasant walk from hotel to the Acropolis and also near a metro station.
