Archipelagos Hotel

- stuff - great host Stelios - clean room, what you get is what you see on the pictures - great view from the room

- location in fact is bad: it's in an industrial part of the city, surrounded by car services, gasoline stations, etc. All the restaurants are at least 15mins away. The beach in front of the hotel is quite small, dirty and rocky, and the main blue flag beach is around 30-40 mins away from the hotel - as for us, breakfast was a bit late - from 8:30 till 10:30. We used to get up early and would rather have breakfast earlier. Also, because of the late time, it was often overcrowded at 8:30 and even people have to wait for an available table

Great location, lovely swimming spot across the road, very attentive staff, stellar views from the balcony, super comfy bed, very clean. Stelios went above and beyond to accommodate our needs including stopping traffic for us so we could drive across the busy road and gave us prime parking spot for as long as we needed. Bonus points coz he was also hilarious. Pool bar was great and well priced drinks.

Staff could have told us or there should have been a sign saying that the air con stops working when your balcony door is partially open - we thought ours was broken and wasted time troubleshooting. Phone in room wasn’t working either. A few elements in the room didn’t make sense, like a hot plate for cooking but no cookware, no plugs in the sinks, a kettle and coffee pot but no coffee/tea/milk provided, cutlery and crockery yet no way of cooking a meal (?). Dinner recommendation from Stelios was unfortunately very average (sorry Stelios) - Taverna Galera - a bit touristy and missed the mark on both food and service (they forgot one of our dishes and the seafood risotto wasn’t great).

Exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable host and staff. It was great to be welcomed to the hotel and found out great information about places to explore in neighborhood and region The breakfast was good and balconies and porches added good value

Evrething was great,great apartments with excellent air conditioning,great pools,close to the beach,a huge balcony overlooking the sea,we had a great family rest!!!

The hotel is very close to Rethymno bus station (10 mins walk). We were welcomed by the owner who presented us the room, the facilities and talked to us about main attractions, reccommended several restaurants (which were very close and great) as well as beaches and other attractions on the island. The room was very clean and had a great sea side view. The hotel overall is very modern and accommodating. The owner, Stellios, is amazing, he helped us rent a car from a local vendor for a good price (ask him directly what you need and he will help you) - he is always present amont the tourists and I only heard "we will manage, we will find a way". Breakfast was very good, just right to get your energy in the morning. Thank you for the lovely experience in Crete!

Archipelagos hotel is an absolute gem of a hotel. The rooms are stylish, modern, clean and the design has been meticulously considered - the shower screens are adjustable so that you can view the ocean from the shower. The hotel is perfectly located, it is a short stroll from the old town and is also close to some great restaurants (Taverna Galerna), with access to a beach directly in front of the hotel. However, the star of this hotel is Stelios - the hospitality, warmth and charm of this hotel shines from its owner who provides excellent local recommendations and works tirelessly to ensure that your stay is perfect - he is the true star. You leave the hotel feeling warm, relaxed and joyous, like you’ve just spent days being part of a Greek family - the hospitality is incredible, and the best I’ve ever had in all my travels! Thanks very much Stelios and team for the wonderful stay!

Stelios was very helpful, gave us a lot of useful information such as good restaurants, nice places to see and website where I booked coach to the airport. All staff is very nice, greeting customers with smile. There are bicycles and beach parasols that customers can borrow for free. Breakfast was very nice, especially warm croissants and chocolate sauce. Archipelagos Hotel is only 10 min walk from the bus station where you find buses to different parts of Crete such as Chania, Georgiopolis beach and Chania Airport. Every Saturday there's market next to the bus station where you can find fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, honey, clothes 😊 I would definitely come back to Rethymno and Archipelagos Hotel.

This is an exceptional hotel within walking distance to the old town (10 minutes), beach front located, with a very nice swimming pool area. My room was on the 9th floor with a stunning view to the sea and to the Fortress and access to another small swimming pool located on the 8th floor. The position of the hotel is allowing you to see the sunrise as well as the sunset, which is really fantastic. The room was modern, spotless, with daily cleaning, the bed was comfy and the internet worked very well. The breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choices and a very good expresso. The staff was very friendly and professional and Mr. Stelios was always there to provide support, to make sure everybody is enjoying the stay and having a great experience not only in the premises of the hotel, but in Rethymno and in Crete. Many thanks for your hospitality and for making my stay very enjoyable!

Everything was just perfect.

We had a super stay and were made to feel extra special by host Stelios. What a star! Great room on top floor with panoramic views of the area, looking out over the sea from our lovely balcony. Short stroll to Rethymno Old Town which has so much character and plentiful bars and restaurants. A fantastic week, and thanks so much to Stelios for his kindness and all the help and advice he offered, along with the fine work from his excellent team at the Archepelagos. Magnificent!

We were surprised and delighted with the location of our room which had a small pool outside. The views from the balcony and pool bar terrace are stunning. We had lunch there most days! The room is well laid out with separate areas for adult and kids rooms with a sliding partition wall. There is also a kitchenette which is a bonus for those wishing to eat in their room. Mr Stelios is very helpful, kind to the children and makes an effort to make you feel welcome. I really liked the breakfast, especially the salads. There are croissants, cereal, toast and omelette too.

A point to note is that whilst there are lifts to every floor there are numerous steps up to the door from the street. I am not aware of an alternative so it may be worth emailing the hotel first to enquire about accessibility or a request a lower floor if stairs are an issue for you.
