The staff was very friendly and kind. Everything was spotless clean and we also had cleaning every 2-3 days. The apartment is very close to the beach and it has lots of restaurants and supermarkets near. You can also walk along the beach to get to the old town. We had a ground floor apartment and it also had a small terrace. All the doors and windows have nets they keep mosquitoes and other bugs out. They provided us with beach towels and a small umbrella to take to the beach and we had a bottle of wine waiting for us.

The parking is a bit difficult. The property only has 4 parking spots but many more apartments so every time you go somewhere with you car it's a gamble whether you can find a spot when returning. It was also very hard to find parking on the main street, at least for us it was.

I have spent 3 wonderful weeks in Calmare apartment. It’s perfect place for people who love wandering throughout a long beach, sunbathing, swimming and appreciate peace and quiet. 10-15 minutes’ walk you reach the most beautiful city in Crete, Rethymno with excellent restaurants, shops, disco clubs, beautiful Old Town narrow streets and many more. Calmare apartment hotel is the best for people who want to be treated like in the great hotel but at the same time have privacy like in own home. You get everything to prepare your own meal or just few steps away you can choose delicious meal in one of many local restaurants. You can choose everyday different beach services. The nearest with comfy sunbeds and umbrellas is just 2 minutes’ walk, so if you forget something from your apartment or just want to get a rest from sun is really nice. Our best beach service with nice cocktails and snacks is Atlantis. Apartments are new, clean and looks like you can see in the photos. The owner of apart. Hotel, Mary is very nice and helpful. She is perfect combination of the best manager and concierge. Mary does everything to make your stay as you wish it be. It’s our third stay in Crete. We explored west, Chania and Heraklion area, but noting compare with Rthymno and kindness of locals there.

The apartment was beautiful, clean, and modern. What I like and appreciate a lot are the small things that they give to you, like the traditional drink Raki, small shampoos, and even a beach umbrella. When you want your apartment to get cleaned, you just turn the sign on the door “please clean up” and when you get back, your apartment is like the first day, everything is cleaned and replaced. And the last one, the host is very kind and welcoming. What I have forgotten to mention is that you have a lot of restaurants and markets around your apartment whatever you need is max. 10 minutes away by walking. If we would visit Rethymno again we would choose this apartment 100%.

The location is very, very good... just few steps away from the beach where you can rent comfy sunbeds (Kabu rest.) with umbrella for €8, plenty of very good restaurants with fair prices along the beach, 20 mins. walk to Rethymno center, quiet. The apartment is modern and very clean, it has a living area with a sofa if someone likes to watch TV/netflix, comfy big bed, good pillows, nice bathroom . Last but not least, the very nice & friendly owner Mary. Always ready for some travel tips & we had a good conversation with her about Greece, its culture & traditions. Highly recommended!!!

Mary is super helpful and very welcoming. She was responsive to our messages and waited for us to arrive. The apartment was very clean and spacious. There’s a little kitchen with everything needed. It was just a 2min walk to the Main Street and beach. There is also a supermarket and restaurants around the corner. The hotel also has a little parking space. We would recommend Calmare suites to everyone! Thank you for the great hospitality ☺️

The apartment was beautiful with very nice interior. Very short distance to the beach and great restaurants. Our host - Mary was extremely nice and helpful. She was always checking on us and giving us great recommendations. Always available and caring.

I wish there was a washing machine in the apartment, but we managed without it after all.

Very modern and lovely Apartment. The interior is well chosen and high-quality. We didn’t miss anything. The little kitchen is well equipped with a coffee machine, toaster, Stoves and enough dishes. To the beach it’s just a two minute walk and to the old town Centre it’s a 20 minute stroll along the beachside. There is a little clothes line outside to dry beach towels and swimming suits and a water tap to clean sandy feet and shoes. Mary the owner gave us a very warm and hearty welcome. We could ask her everything and she made us feel comfortable all the time. She has great tips what to do in Crete and nice recommendations for traditional restaurants, shops and sightseeing, just ask her. Thanks for a wonderful time!

The apartment is so cozy: absolutely new and clean, very stylish, comfortable and well equipped. There is everything you may need. It is situated very successfully – in a small quiet alleyway, 100m from the main street, where you can find plenty of nice cafes and restaurants and where you can go to the old town, which is only 20 min. walk slow pace. The sea with several good beaches is 2 min. walk. A supermarket is just in a corner. If you have a car, you can easily rich nice blue bays with excellent beaches, such as Bali, Plakias or Shinari, or you can visit monasteries Preveli, Arkadi and the other nice interesting places. The hostess of the apartments Mary was so kind and helpful. She gave us many useful recommendations about restaurants, beaches, places of interest, how to spend time and so on. We really enjoyed staying at Calmare. For sure, we will come there again.

Calmare has a lovely host and is located at a great location, very close to the beach. The room was very comfortable and the shower was especially amazing.

We were one of the few booked rooms before the tourist season and the last nights it started to become busier. As the room was on the ground floor next to the entrance, you do hear other people coming in and out (early) and talking as the doors are not soundproof.

The appartment was very nice, tidy, comfy and quiet. We had everything we needed for the comfortable stay. The great beaches are just across the road. Lot's of nice tavernas for the breakfast or dinner in the neighbourhood. It takes around 25 minutes (slow pace) to get to the old city. All the way is near the beach line, so it's very nice for strolling, especially in the evening. The host Mary, was brilliant, super friendly and helpful. She is one of the main reasons why we want to come back to the Calmare again. She was even ready to take us to the pharmacy on the opposite side of the town by her own car late in the evening, when we needed that. Our overall experience in Rethymno and particularly in Calmare was exceptional. Mary, we miss you already 🙂. Anna and Alex.
