Excelsior Hotel

We are visiting the hotel for the 3rd time and we are extremely happy about the service. First when we made the reservation I asked the room not to be next to the elevator however I got the room next to the elevator when I went down to the reception to ask for the room to be changed it was changed immediately without any problems which means the customer satisfaction for them it is on first place and I would like to thank you and to say I am very grateful. The second thing which I would like to mention is that this hotel is super pet friendly they are treating the pets as member of the family not just a pet. For my dog they have left dog shampoo and conditioner, a really soft towel special for her and treats. It was amazing and I was impressed that this hotel care for the pets, I wish more hotels to be like them. The people who work at the reception are very polite, nice and helpful.

One negative site which the hotel can improve is the breakfast. They can provide more choice in the breakfast menu

The historic corner building wqas very attractive from outside, and enhanced the streetscape. Breakfast was good, and the breakfast room charming. Location was excellent. The hotel was a refurbished large historic house, and was consequently atmospheric It was really nice to have quite a large balcony, yet for the glass doors to the balcony to be very soundproof on a busy corner.

The lift is tiny. But then, it IS an historic building, so getting a lift in at all is an achievement. Ideally, the Reception area could be larger, its a bit cramped. But again, it IS an old house.

Everything was amazing! Our entire stay was superb. From concierge to room service to breakfast and quality of the rooms. Everything was excellent. Our stay at the hotel even surpassed a stay at Sheraton Stockholm. We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days and the location of the hotel was at the heart of Thessaloniki. It had great bars, restaurants, grocery stores nearby and a block away from the sea. I would not hesitate to book with them again for our future visits to Thessaloniki. If you want to feel like you are on a proper vacation with proper pampering and high quality service, I highly recommend staying with them!

The hotel is placed in the heart of Thessaloniki, although it sits on a busy intersection you cannot hear any of the hustle and bustle within the hotel. All of the staff are warm and friendly, willing to answer any questions or help where they can. The room we stayed in was spacious and cleaned twice a day. Breakfast was a choice of cold buffet or a hot a la carte menu, both of which are high quality. All in all, a fantastic hotel would I would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Thessaloniki.

wonderful hotel with wonderful staff. Artemis, Stella, Sofia, Mario and many others were amazing and made our stay as easy and pleasant as possible. Everyone treated us with the utmost kindness, respect, and patience. location was unbeatable. right in the heart of the city center surrounded by restaurants, shopping, and historical sites. our room faced the Main Street and it wasn’t too noisy at all in the evening, though if your prefer total quiet try for a room facing the sides or rear. Beds were very very comfortable! Breakfast was absolutely amazing! I’ve stayed at many 5 star hotels around the world and this was one of the best. though parking isn’t available onsite, the staff made it easy and parked and retrieved my car for me at a very reasonable cost. I’d highly recommend this hotel!

The shower is not in the bathroom, but in the room. so not as much privacy as one might want.

Beautiful venue; incredibly helpful and friendly staff; well appointed rooms. Fabulous breakfast, great location.

The air conditioning was patchy. It didn’t work in the first room; barely worked the second room; they insisted it was working fine but soon offered us another room which they said was cooler so they must have accepted that it wasn’t great in the first place. The third room was much better and the staff were very keen to help. Also sound proofing was poor - we could hear people in the next room watching TV, coughing, and having showers. We had three rooms for three couples and all rooms had sound proofing problems.

Very good selection for breakfast including buffet items and a La crate menu included in the price. Nice tea and coffee brought to the table. All the staff were helpful and courteous. We had a lovely stay in a wonderful central location.

There was quite a lot of noise from the road and bars near the front of the hotel. Not unusual for a city hotel and it may have been less noticeable on a higher floor.

This hotel is probably at the best location possible, right at the heart of the city but at the same time in a safe area to walk in the night. The staff was very friendly and the hotel very elegant.

The only thing I didn't like was how hot the hotel was. It was a relatively warm December, I did my best to stop the aircondition but the room wasn't getting any cooler. I had to open the windows in the night.

Absolutely beautiful and luxurious room and hotel. Breakfast is delicious and was included in our booking. Staff was exceptionally helpful and kind. The room was beautiful, even though we were on the first floor it was pretty quiet, a little street noise but not too bad. We definitely look forward to staying here again!

The door to the toilet was a swinging door and didn’t give you as much privacy as desired.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Staff were very professional and willing to accommodate all needs. Loved the times that were offered for breakfast, very flexible.

A little disappointed that the hotel did not have a roof top terrace, which we mistakenly thought we had seen on the pictures - but sadly not, would be a great addition to the hotel if possible.
