Le Royal Meridien Chennai

The lobby was very majestic, the employees at the reception were very welcoming and assisting. The rooms were very classy with solid furniture and the bathroom was well-lit with huge mirrors, a huge plus. The inclusive south-Indian and continental breakfast was very delicious. The room service was quick, clean and effective.

Not everything was fully functional all the time. One of the two elevators that was closest to our room was not working for the last couple of days of the stay. The carpets in both of our rooms were dusty. The spa was not available on all days. There was no hair-dryer available. On one particular day of our stay, there was a power-outage for a short period of time, followed by dry-running pipes for an hour or so.

We wanted a one night stay near the airport and this was ideal. It’s just three stops on the Metro plus a ten minute walk. It is some distance from the city centre and there aren’t many restaurants nearby. The hotel is quite a grand place with a pleasant garden and lovely pool. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. We had an Executive King Room, which was huge and well equipped. Unfortunately, it was beginning to show its age and needed a bit of refurbishing here and there. Having said that, we had a very enjoyable stay.

But I really enjoyed with your hospitality. Safe and Secure. I will surely recommend to my friends and family. All the very best guys.

I only had Dal Khichadi for all 3 days which was good. Dinner is very expensive should be at least 30% cheaper probably it would have more footfalls.

Bathroom light couldn't be turned off as there was a problem in console. Staff tried but couldn't fixed either. I locked the bathroom for all 3 days at night. That's a waste of energy. My room was 1086

The lobby and the rooms were beautiful and very clean. Comfortable beds and a great bathroom. The amenities were fresh and well stocked. Staff are polite and generally very well equipped to understand guest queries.

The restaurant, Cilantro. While the staff at the restaurant are very polite, the food is tasteless and of very poor quality. The spread is skewed more towards non vegetarian food, and the vegetarian options are extremely limited. Would have liked a better restaurant with more options.

Location and public spaces

Rooms badly needing renovated. Door frame rotted away, paintwork generally needing done, dreadful black stains all around the bath. Not one of the 3 shampoo, body wash, or conditioner filled up all empty! Teamaker not working, nor tv or sockets on one side of room, turned out to be a circuit problem.

Value for Money and a spacious property. The Rooms are well appointed. The breakfast is very good and has a good variety.

The property has become old and needs a bit of a maintenance. The Lifts are rickety and dilapidated. I was using a Motorcycle while staying in the Hotel and the Security was shooing me away from riding in and out of the Hotel even though I was staying there.

Great Room sizes and good breakfast spread. Wide variety of Indian food for a good start to the day. Very attentive service staff. Like the classic structures of the Hotel.

Amenities like the pool is not maintained. The tap in the toilet not functioning well. do my own minor repairs to get them working . Room fittings seems a little worn out. Maybe due to the two years of neglect. But I trust that the hotel will get back to its glory again.

Choice of food is great..When I have to abruptly prepone by check out by 2 nights due to sudden health issue of my mother 450 kms far requiring my presence, the hotel were kind enough to cancel the 2 nights money a very rare gesture. This one impression decided me to give this hotel my first choice.

Proper Explanation about the Room, Hotel and its feautres should be provided by the Welcoming staff at the time of check in.

Breakfast is excellent to suit everyone’s palate. Adequate spread. Local South Indian food was excellent. Location is excellent. Wall paintings and decoration reminds of the glorious past. The room furniture also reminds of our old age grandeur. It is good that they have not demolished everything under the name of renovation. Overall an excellent, friendly stay
