Excellent location - just few steps off the marina beach. The room was very clean and well designed. The kids enjoyed their evening in the pool. The host was very accommodating and their hospitality was much appreciated. The terrace was creatively designed fill with greeneries and it was very helpful in throwing a surprise party for my sister. The room has excellent view and witnessing the sunrise was pure bliss. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and we are looking forward to stay again.

I enjoyed the Breakfast, the Idillis & Pongal with the authentic Chutneys were on point, delicious. The fresh brewed Madras Coffee is like no other, hands down the best coffee in the World, I would have my cup to go, the staff were very attentive.

Somerset was relaxing, hospitable & very welcoming, I am giving them a 5 star review because I felt very much at home, from the front desk staff to the Cleaning Staff to the staff in the Restaurants they were very professional. Did they deliver, yes so instead of critiquing the establishment I would like to boost their performance so they will always know that hard work is appreciated!!

I stayed both in the suite and the big room with a terrace. both options were great and loved the kitchen in the room, superfast Internet, nice breakfast, and the rooftop swimming pool with rest areas. overall reasonable value for money.

I was not so happy when I moved from the suite to a superior room and my Internet speed dropped from 300 mbit to just 5. I had to complain three times throughout the day to get the speed to at least 50 mbit. otherwise a great stay. maybe the rooms could be a little better maintained but considering I came from the best hotel in town, it was still reasonably good.

The location of the property is amazing. It is located at the walking distance from Marina Beach. I came from Delhi. Hence. staying so close to the beach was really rewarding and fulfilling. Additionally, the property is on a very calm street, thus finishing office work from there was easy.

There wasn't anything that I particularly disliked. The only thing I faced was that there were no good places for fine dining nearby. However, you can easily order online.

The Housekeeping was done nicely. Kudos to Mr. Prakash from that team. He did an outstanding job all the time.

We were seeing some roaches in the room, that needs to be attended on priority to control them. Other wise the room was comfortable.

We had an excellent stay. The place was perfect, with excellent facilities for the whole family and very efficient and friendly staff. Highlights for us were, spacious and clean rooms, washer and dryer, kitchenette, no use of plastic bottles, kids outdoor play area, kids indoor play area, outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam and sauna. Breakfast was good too.

We booked an apartment and it was very spacious and had a fully working kitchen, comfortable beds, and a washing machine which was a bonus after travelling for a month. The breakfast was excellent and the pool area was really lovely and always very quiet. We especially liked the hot pool which was huge and warm, and the fact that the pool area was open until 10pm.

Smoking in rooms. Management needs to enforce the nonsmoking rules.

Staff Comfort Ambience Poolside Food Facilities Decor

Small issues: We were not called by hotel to ask for airport pickup.(as mentioned in booking. com) Bathroom fittings were jammed. Hot water not warm enough at 8 AM. Soap dispensers malfunctioning. Few small cockroaches found in bathroom and corridor. We were given only one key had to make multiple requests to get another one. Shoeshine on ground floor was not working.

The team seemed to confused if they had collected id’s from all parties. Consistently stopped us at the elevator without even being sure if they have collected ID’s even after all ID’s were given. If they have suspicion they should ask the guest the room number and total folks, verify then call the room number if they are missing an ID. This has never been an issue even on international trips. It can be avoided.
