The room was very clean and cosy, the bathroom was brandnew with a waterfall shower and a hand shower (both). The room was cleaned and made every day and the supplies of coffee, tea, sugar and milk were replenished. We got new towels every day, although it wasn't really necessary. We could have had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, if we had wished so. The hotel is situated at the beach and there are many restaurants and bars where you can have a good time. We did not find it noisy though. You can also walk the cliff path from Bray to Greystones (approx. 6 km) which is gorgeous. The location of the hotel at the beach is splendid. The train station of Bray is approx. 300 m away (a 5-minute-walk), there is a train to Dublin every 10 minutes. The train ride into the centre of Dublin takes about 50 minutes though, because it has many stops. We did not mind, however, because we could plan our day in Dublin during that ride. There are also two supermarkets near the hotel, a SPAR and a TESCO, and many Take-away restaurants. We had a lot of privacy, we only talked to the receptionist when checking-in and checking-out, She was very friendly. You feel very welcome in this hotel, everybody was friendly and helpful.

Everything was perfect except perhaps that the first night we heard a couple quarreling and banging doors until 2.00 a.m. which the hotel can't be blamed for though.

Breakfast is in a nice setting. The staff were very nice and obliging. The scrambled eggs and bacon proved a very generous helping. The shower was excellent. The lounge upstairs looks really nice.

My sister's room was very small and she couldn't get around the bed. She also needed a chair but there would have been no room for it. The sink plug got stuck and wouldn't release water and she had to report to reception who kindly fixed it. The shower door also became a bit unhinged. The double room with my other sister was fine but a strong smell of damp in the corridor and in the room.

The staff in every area were very friendly and helpful, particularly the housekeeper, Carmen. The beds were comfortable and, despite the hotel's warning about possible weekend noise, we had good nights' sleep. We ate three nights in either the upstairs bistro or downstairs and were happy with the food, particularly the fish. As we were using public transport, the proximity of Bray station was very useful.

The kitchen area really needed a few more utensils such as a cafetiere, tin opener, cork screw and sieve/colander. When we mentioned this, the staff were very helpful and found us a cork screw, but maybe the hotel information could contain advice on this

The staff and the accommodation were excellent and could not be more helpful. From arrival the staff were very obliging and it continued to every area of the hotel which says alot .Apartment we had was spotless and very comfortable with everything we needed ( private but still part of the hotel if you needed it to be) . Restaurant was a great experience that we had dinner again the next day , food was excellent and the staff would enticed you to come back.. Really great hotel would recommend to others .

Not the fault of the hotel but parking was a nightmare as a person with a disability and travelling with older people in our party🥺

The location of the hotel directly at the sea was really nice and we even had a side-look at the sea from our rooms. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean and even had a window that could be opened - only that the toilet and the sink were so close together that you could hardly stand in front of the sink was a bit strange. But as there was enough space to stand beside the sink while using it, that was only a minor issue. And finding your rooms could be a bit of a challenge because there seem to be many staircases and corridors 😉. And there was no lift, but the staff even helps with the luggage when somebody can't carry it upstairs himself. Overall, the hotel rooms were very quiet and comfortable, and the hotel was really nice, also the restaurant and bar part and the meals were very tasty and fresh - as well as the breakfast. And last but not least: the staff was very friendly and helpful and we really felt welcome there. We can absolutely recommend this hotel (and the restaurant) and we would choose it again when in the area. We really enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely EVERYTHING, I am just sorry to be traveling solo this time and not with my wife and our baby boy accompanying! I think I got lucky enough to get offered the “suite” of the hotel, great room with big windows and views over the bay, bed with a mattress with a feeling like “sleeping in the clouds”, nice decoration. And the pub is simply LEGENDARY. The pub food is the best I have ever tried in Ireland (and I lived there for near 8 years before) both in quality and variety. I got also B&B and the breakfast was a la carte with no restrictions. The music live sessions going on every evening where simply class, great covers of all time classics. A true pleasure to enjoy there the grand finale of the Six Nations and Ireland’s historic Grand Slam. The hotel is at the Bray seafront within 5 minutes walking distance to the DART and close to many shops and the Main Street. The reception ladies were super polite and attentive and the young lads waiters were all courteous and kind. Rooms cleaned and serviced every day

Nothing, it is a fine establishment - please do not touch anything! Some picky guests might say it is a bit noisy but if you cannot stay with a bit of good music simply you are too dull to go there! Relax and join the crowd and the party for a while, you will sleep much better after a couple of pints (or a few more)!

I try to make an annual trip to Bray and have stayed each time in the Martello. On check in I was allocated the same room that I had stayed in last year - I had asked if this was possible so grateful to the staff at check-in for sorting this. The room was perfectly clean. As always all staff (reception/bar/restaurant/in general) that I dealt with or encountered were very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast as always was delicious as was a meal that I had one evening. The Martello is well located half way along the promenade and a short walk to the town centre and DART station. As with previous years I enjoyed my stay in the Martello and look forward to my next stay there.

As always no issues at all.

This was a lovely introduction to coastal Ireland. The location was perfect and the hotel was really comfortable. The staff were so happy and accommodating with a request for extra towels brought to our room immediately. The restaurant was very busy but the staff handled it all with a smile. The piano bar at night was entertaining and food was delicious. The younger ones in our group loved the club downstairs. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and were pleasantly surprised with the size of the kitchen and the washing machine!! The beds were very comfortable. We didn't hear any of the noise from the club downstairs. The beautiful beach and promenade across the road gives everything a very relaxed vibe even though it was a bank holiday weekend and the town was super busy. Overall it was a very enjoyable place to stay.

Having read the reviews and seen the property information about noise levels we were pleasantly surprised at not experiencing any noise issues. The different bars/ spaces in the hotel are great, with different vibes in different spots. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Having a TV in the main bedroom was helpful for when the children were asleep. We loved to have a little kitchen to be able to have breakfast in the apartment.

The living space was tight when both pull down beds were in use, they took up most of the living space. The bathroom wasn't huge for a family of 4, but it was adequate.

We got a really big wonderful room with sea view. The equipment with kettle and iron also convinced us. Many parking spaces are available directly on the road, for an appropriate fee. We can recommend the hike to Bray Head, from where you have a breathtaking view. My vegan daughter always found something delicious on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We booked our accommodation with breakfast. As a hotel guest you get the same menu as non-hotel guests. When I wanted to order scrambled eggs and a scone in the morning, I was told that as a hotel guest you could only choose one dish from the menu, everything else had to be paid extra, including the scone. A little more flexibility on the part of the hotel would be more appropriate, as many people like something savoury and something sweet in the morning. I think it is unfair to pay extra for this even though you have booked an overnight stay with breakfast.
