Druids Glen Resort

I have visited many family friendly hotels in Ireland and this one is right up there. The pool facilities for children are excellent, with the right temperature for kids to not get cold quickly and enjoy their time there. Our little one (3) swam every day. The hotel also manages to exude luxury whilst still remaining attractive to families .. breakfast options were superb.

The golf club shouldnt be offered as a dining option for families imo. It was completely void of women and children when we got there with men coming in from a round having drinks together at the 19th. Perhaps that was the luck of the draw but we found it slightly offputting. The menu is also the same as on site at the hotel which we werent expecting.

The room was beautiful and spacious, huge bathroom & shower,you didn’t need anything plenty of towels,robes & slippers provided. Bed was so comfortable and wardrobe contained hairdryer and iron. We enjoyed a really pleasant and fast service for food and drinks throughout our stay particularly in the garden bar and restaurant where we had delicious lunch and dinner/drinks a couple of times. The cocktails were lovely and staff couldn’t do enough to help you they were amazing.

It was a shame that the spa was booked up. A week or so before our stay we had an itinerary/planner sent to us but by then spa was already booked up and we requested to go on a cancellation list which wasn’t replied to through the email communication. We felt at the time of booking we should have been warned plenty of time was needed to book in. With bad weather it doesn’t leave much to do for guests who want to relax if the spa isn’t available. We also felt although the service was fantastic the dinner in Hugo’s (specifically the main) was not amazing considering the price. We enjoyed our dessert more. We didn’t complain to the staff as the staffs themselves were wonderful but food that night wasn’t great.

Spa treatments were so relaxing, definitely make sure though that you have booked in advance. We had a delux twin room, very spacious, had 2 very comfortable double beds, and the room was nice and cool at night time. Great breakfast choice, food was very good quality. Staff were very helpful all through the hotel and very friendly.

No complaints, hard to pick out a negative. The bar menu was limited in choice, however food was very good.

We are lovers of the pool. To our disappointment, the capacity was too high for us especially during these times of Covid restrictions. It was a Sunday morning and so there were members and residents of approx fourty people, adults and children. We could not swim a length or width. We did not return the following morning in case we experienced the same. Apart from the pool, we had an excellent experience and made use of other facilities instead.

The hotel was beautiful with great facilities. Didn’t fancy a dip in the plunge pool though! Staff were really helpful and keen to ensure that our stay was the best. Loved the walking trail around the grounds too. A super few days.

Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Food & drinks were absolutely beautiful. Room was great size & good bathroom. The grounds around the hotel & the walking trail along the golf course is beautiful.

Choice of food in both Hugo restaurant and bar very heavy - chips with everything, lots of butter and cream, restricted choice of healthy food options Cost of spa treatments was very expensive - €75 for a 30 min facial, €60 for 30 minute massage - disappointingly short - neither represented value for money

Breakfast was excellent. I really enjoyed the full Irish. Much better than in many similar hotels I have stayed in.

The room was lovely and spacious, clean and the bed was so comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very good and the waiter was amazing.

Not enough tea bags in room

The cleanliness of the rooms and hotel overall was impressive, as a last minute booking the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good in the restaurant, room service breakfast was on time and well presented.

The tables were too low in the dining area, hard to get comfortable while eating dinner.
