The Parkview Hotel

Room was big and quite quiet. Decent shower and bath facility. Clean and the downstairs bar was good. Breakfast in the main restaurant was nice as opposed to the included breakfast, really get options and very tasty. To be fair we were only staying here to visit the Wicklow Wolf brewery and do the tour. I would recommend this highly.

There wasn't a whole lot to dislike. We enjoyed our stay, only criticism was when we went for breakfast and sat down, the girl asked us to move from the main breakfast room as we hadn't got breakfast included in our room so we have to move to the bar. Seemed odd to do this and then it took much longer for us to be served.

The food in both the restaurant and bar was excellent, including breakfast. The bedroom was very spacious and clean. All hotel staff were very friendly. The location is perfect for doing the Wicklow mountains tour.

In the bar our first night, the waiters/waitresses were not at all helpful, and the service was very slow even though there were very few customers in the bar. However the second evening it was quite the opposite, excellent and efficient service. The only complaint about the rooms is that the doors do not shut quietly. I don’t know if anything can be done about that.

Welcoming and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent large comfortable room and bed. Lots of storage. Good En-suite bathroom. Everywhere very clean. Good room service. Excellent food in the restaurant and in the bar (different menus in each). Well prepared breakfasts. Handy location for a few shops. Very good centre for visiting Powerscourt, Glendalough, Dublin etc. A good bus service is also available at the front of the hotel.

There is a large noisy extractor fan which can be annoying for some rooms especially when windows are open. Some noise from late night events. Restaurant menu not available some evenings. Limited menu choices for vegetarians and pescatarians. Veggie breakfast is Irish Breakfast without the meat. Not many evening eateries within walking distance. Wi-fi in room erratic. (Despite these comments we thought that the good points resulted in an excellent stay).

Lovely hotel. Lovely staff. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Good price. Bus links to local dart station available beside hotel. This gets one access to Dublin city, Bray etc.

not enough pillows, Lovely breakfast selection but not enough toast. one additional slice at the start would have been just perfect. very pungent odour smell in the stairwell, WIFI took a bit of work to connect into. extract fan in the room was switched off. Housecleaning should check this as part of the room cleaning process. We didn't realise until we got back, smell was not nice.

From the moment we arrived, the staff both in reception and in the bar and restaurant couldn't have been nicer. Our room was so comfortable and clean. The food both in the bar and restaurant was absolutely first class and drinks especially the cocktails made by Harrison were just fab! Excellent value for money and a great base to discover County Wicklow.

There is really nothing we could fault apart from the shower in the bathroom which could maybe do with updating.

The Breakfast was good. The location is superb as it was ease to get to and from. Having Dunnes store next door was great because then, you can get almost everything you'd ever want or need without having to go far to get it.

The view to the car park was okay, I was hoping to get the view of the park beside the hotel. one of the cupholders in the bathroom was damaged but they hotel knew before hand am sure. The sound of other doors closing as it was being slammed.

Beautiful spacious rooms

We had to check out very early in morning as we had to catch a ferry from Dublin. However, it took a long time to find someone to check us out. Moreover, even though I had prepaid everything via booking.com, I was asked for another credit card for security purpose at check in and unknowingly an amount was charged on the card. It is only when we noticed the next day that an amount was deducted, we had to call them and inform that an amount was accidentally deducted. They have however acknowledged this fact and have promised that the amount should get refunded soon.

We arrived and they hadn’t our booking logged but straight away she upgraded us to a superior suite for free and sorted it straight away. She was super helpful and kind. We then went down to the pub for some dinner and the room was just so lovely. Loved the decor and ambiance. The food was perfect and the service. Our room was lovely and the bed was super comfortable. Both my husband and I give this hotel a 10/10.

Only thing I’d recommend is a bottle of water in the room, I forgot to get some and woke in the night super thirsty.

Loved the hotel- exceeded all expectations. The decor is so lush, rooms so spacious and staff were warm and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay overall. We loved the poached egg and mushrooms included in the breakfast cooked to perfection and great quality products. Thanks to all.

We didn’t love the whole breakfast, didn’t enjoy the quality of the meats. We received two slices of toast between two, could have asked for more but would have preferred to be given two each.

Hotel was good location for our plans, it is a 3 star so therefore don’t expect the extras you get in a more expensive hotel e.g. body lotion, shower caps, face cloths etc. Food was good we ate in the bar and the breakfast was very good. Parking also available and in better weather there is a lovely outdoor area. .

Room very warm but the bar very very cold, it was quite uncomfortable and it is a really lovely bar
