Ashley Hotel

Location is brilliant, so convenient, we ate each evening in locality, Gallaghers diagonally opposite and a few yards down Bridge Street in the Italian, Da Mirco. Both restaurants were first class, lunch in the Green Room at Crawford's Art Gallery was excellent, no wonder Cork is regarded as food capital of Ireland ? Tiago at reception was charming and so helpful with his suggestions, Reny was lovely girl who gave us extra milk each morning + allowed me to peep into other bedrooms which left me feeling I'd got the short straw regarding the hotel's room options! Hey ho .. I'd be back in the morning, book early is my best advice ..

Our bedroom was tiny, so, so small, barely room to turn round, the weather was exceptionally hot but we were given a fan which helped immensely, the bathroom felt ancient with ghastly tiles but all was 100% clean .. carpet may have benefited from a shampoo ? It was a quiet room at the back and beds comfortable.

The location of this hotel is good, with one of Cork's best pubs located right across the street. The hotel itself is an older building. While the rooms may be a bit dated, they are cozy and comfortable. The staff does a good job of keeping the hotel clean and tidy, although some areas could benefit from a bit of updating.

The room´s floor was a bit dirty when we arrived, but we asked for them to clean it and they did it. Outside the building there are street works, so probably during the week it´s very noisy (we stayed during the weekend so no noise).

great location, near lots of bars and restaurants. friendly and helpful staff at all times. room was small but it was fine. It's in front of two popular pubs, and even so I could sleep without issues. it's also conveniently located for catching the aircoach to dublin.

it was a bit cold in the morning, showering was not pleasant as the water was warm but the room was not. the tiny desk in the room was really not functional for working. In general the hotel needs some renovations, but it did not bother me, I actually thought it was charming.

The Ashley Hotel was in a great location and within walking distance to the downtown area. We arrived late due to unexpected delays and the hotel management was very accommodating. They recommended a wonderful little Pub "SINE" directly across the road from the hotel that offered live entertainment. The atmosphere within the Ashley Hotel was inviting and quaint...like a Boutique Hotel. We were travelling as a family of 5 adults and we had two rooms that were very spacious and most comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Unfortunately, there was no breakfast and no coffee bar open during our stay. We definitely would have used this during our stay. Otherwise our stay was very good! Thank you!

It was hard to beat the location for this price and the room while dated was clean and comfortable. The front desk was helpful with questions we had.

Not a big surprise, but parking was an issue since when we got there all on-site parking spaces(about a dozen) were already filled. Also since we got there on a Saturday afternoon all the street parking was also filled. We did find a Q-Park(Pine St) about a block and a half away that did have space for a Saturday night. We also had issues with loud neighbors(talking and playing around)from 11PM to 4AM, but luckily we are sound sleeper but I could see how this could be a problem for some guest.

Location was excellent, right in the centre of Cork, we didn’t have to walk longer than 10 minutes to get wherever we wanted to go. The staff were very friendly and helpful too! The hotel was very secure in the evening and the beds were very comfy too.

Not really something I didn’t like but the hotel has onsite parking, the website at the time of my booking said the hotel parking was currently being used as on outdoor seating area so I parked across in Carrolls Quay Q-Park. Obviously an outdated message on the website, just for anyone else booking.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Helped with parking too which was great.

Only 1 key for the room. I had to wake my friend who returned to the hotel early because reception don't have a spare nor could open the door for me. Also was woken late Sat night because of others banging on doors because of the same issue.

The staff were possible the nicest kindest and most thoughtful staff I've ever come across. With I got the girls name who checked us in she was fabulous. Couldn't do enough for us.

Being totally honest it does need an upgrade but I actually enjoyed its quirkiness. The place is clean and location amazing.

The decor is fantastic, and I want to emulate the carpeting and wallpaper in my own home one day. A weirdly long bathroom with a bathtub was quite cool. Great for the price. Also allegedly haunted which is a big plus for me

Old wooden building let's sound carry. Location is close to town but the area around it is pretty run down. Room was a fine size but the bed was a little snug and not super comfortable.

The location is exceptional for a city stay.

The access is fairly gruelling when you are carrying bags and my room was the furthest from the reception- no lifts. The ensuite needs regrouting and the shower is controlled by the taps so it's a bit outdated. This does not detract from how comfortable the room was, nor how great the location is... I would stay there again.
