The Kingsley Hotel

The pool and spa were lovely, especially the pool that ran along the river side.

Unfortunately, Booking.com booked us in and when we arrived, they didn’t have the room that we booked online. We were given an apartment suite which first off was very hard to find as directions were not given very well. When we got to our room, we noticed we were given no soap or shampoo, or any coffee/tea or kettle for the next morning all of which we phoned the front desk and asked for. All we were given was a little bag of coffee and tea and sugar that was left outside our room door. Still no soap, and so far along our trip this was the most expensive room we paid for. ☹️

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The car park was free and easy to get in and out of.

We booked quite a long time in advance, but ended up in a room on the 1st floor with the restaurant exhaust fan right outside our window - which was really quite noisy. The front desk staff, to their credit, did offer to move us to another room, but we'd unpacked and strewn our stuff everywhere, so we decided to stay where we were. There was also a slightly annoying motor noise cutting in and out. We think it may have been the lift motors. The hotel is quite big, so moving rooms would have probably sorted this out too

The breakfast was exceedingly good and well prepared. Everyone was very hardworking and made sure that we had everything we needed. Our luggage was escorted promptly to our rooms, and we received a complimentary Kingsley chocolate bar. Darren in the dining area was awesome and informative with the sights around Cork and Kinsale. The rooms were gorgeous and clean with plenty of space for me and my fiancee's luggage. We had the room with the river view and it was most delightful to wake up in the morning and see outside the windows. The bathroom was very accommodating with plenty of great smelling soaps and we loved the tub! The thermostat was on point and kept us cozy as well as the beds. Plenty of parking available as well which was a plus! Of course, we treated ourselves to the spa center on the first floor and it was so spectacular and relaxing! Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone interested in visiting Cork!

What's not to like??

The Location. The friendliness of all the staff. The cleanliness.

I didn't like the absence of availability of a light snack from the bar around 9.00pm. I had an excellent lunch in your restaurant, but I felt I needed a light snack later on, but all that was available was what I can only call main meals. What I was actually hoping for was a toasted sandwich or something similar. The offering from both your facilities were very similar and very pricey. I ended up getting a chicken sandwich at the local Centra. Despite this "Moan," I'd go back in a heartbeat and recommend you to my friends.

The hotel was superb, great location overlooking the River Lee. The staff were friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were superb, gym, spa swimming especially the outdoor heated pool. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus had a great selection of very good quality foods. Our room a superior king was lovely, comfortable bed, spacious livibg area, lovely decor.

Out of hours room service a but pricy - the quality of food not great in comparison to the rest of the food (which was superb) available throughout the day.

We were celebrating 2 birthdays recently and had a fabulous stay in the Kingsley hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable, staff so friendly and helpful. Staff were very good and sang happy birthday to our birthday girls and a lovely dessert treat was given to them too! Food was very tasty in the bar and at breakfast and we also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. We were hoping to use the hydro pool outside but it was waiting on a part to be fixed so we hope to come back again for another stay and try it out! 👍😀

Fast check-in, nice breakfast (both a-la-carte and buffet) Didn't notice any room noise and room temperature was good. Free & plentiful parking

Handed two room keys at check-in - neither worked. Overly stuffed pillows, As most hotels provide 2 pillows per person I don't understand why its isn't standard practice to provide one fat & one thin on each bed. Not the fault of the hotel but we were unable to get a taxi due to a couple of events being on - this meant its out of town location let the trip down. Fortunately there is a bus service nearby.

The spa was wonderful and the Gluten Free options were very tasty, the room was spacious and clean . The bed was large and the bath was very spacious . The breakfast was generous and the staff courteous.

The pool was smaller than I thought and so busy it wasn't a very relaxing space . The noise levels from only a few children were oddly high maybe because of the very echoey space , so I felt I couldn't stay , and there was no space to swim as an adult unless you could swim very fast in the purpose set aside swim lane.

Lovely big room, with a huge bed, plus all the extras you needed and a lovely bathroom with complimentary toiletries - really loved the shower gel. The breakfast was very good, too - with GF options. The staff were friendly, accommodating and quick to respond to requests. There were complimentary towels and towelling robes so that you can take advantage of the indoor swimming pool, sauna and outside hot tub. The underground free car parking was also a bonus.

I needed to request a softer pillow - which arrived within minutes. The TV was a little awkward to navigate at first, but we soon got the hang of it. It is an 20/25 minute walk into Cork City - but you can use the complimentary bicycles for up to 5 hours.

Very nice hotel, a bit outside town, but a nice walk towards it. Nice breakfast, very friendly staff.

It's a bit of a shame that for such a nice hotel, the windows didn't isolate properly and one could here the noise of the street well and the wind blowing through the small cracks. I actually requested another room because in the first one it was chilly because of that. Shamefully, the second room had the same issue although not as bad.
